From experience gathered here I'll advice you use both...let your new company give u study leave letter so you can attach to your application thatyoure coming back to continue once you finish studying. And your business will continue in your absence.. you can just issue letter to a close relative to continue in your absence.
wont pay roll be needed?

Lekiboboe:

Hi,

Let me assume you are a Graduate (B.SC/B.A or HND)

Have you gotten Admission?

If NO,

1) First thing you should do is to apply for a Program in a Skool (DLI - Designated Learning Institute in Canada) that offers PGWP (Post Graduate Work Permit), the Admission letter you get is part of the documents you gonna use to apply for a Study Visa

In applying for a Skool,
Make sure you show Career/Academic/Logical Progression most especially your Degree/Work Experience should be resonating with the Program you are going for.

So for instance,
If you studied Microbiology & you are going for Accounting , that's a Very Wrong Career Progression, but if you have years of Work Experience in Accounting even though you studied Microbiology, you can still go for it.

also,
note that you can't just apply for any program

U also gotta show Progression in the qualification of Program you are going for
e.g
- B.SC grad (2.1) going for a Masters
- B.SC grad (2.2) & HND graduate going for a PGD/PG. Cert/ Post Baccalaureate Diploma
- M.SC grad going for PH.D

If you have a 2.1 and you want to go for a PG. Cert, endeavor to show cogent reasons in a convincing manner in your SOP why you are going for a PG. Cert instead of a Masters Degree.

You can state your Course of Study, your grade, members in House might be able to suggest a Program you can go for that relates to either your Degree or Work Experience

2) Financial Readiness is very very important
- You need to have enough money that's gonna cater for your tuition (like $14,000CAD upward , depending on the tuition amount of the program) & compulsory One-year living Expenses ($10,00 CAD).

If you are to make use of a Sponsor, it should be either your Mum, Dad, Sibling or Uncle/Aunty who you bear same surname with and have known you way back in time & your Sponsor should have enough money to the extent he/she will still have substantial amount of money in his/her account even after sponsoring you

Since it's a new job, no pay slip yet I guess, it's just a letter of study leave, that you're coming back to the company ince you finish your studies.

Good day everyone.

Having gone through this thread, I seem to notice that applicants with siblings in Canada do get rejected.

For me, my sister is a citizen of Canada. She’s going to be my main sponsor while my brother in the UK will be my second sponsor.

For ties back in Nigeria, I have my parent and two other siblings in Nigeria, my parents and my brothers have landed properties in Nigeria. I can get a letter of study leave from my company where I’ve been working for almost 3 years now.

Please do I run a risk of being rejected due to family ties in Canada and Nigeria?

You are welcome, Yes there is, but you have to seriously work for it, cos it doesn't come easy.

To increase your chances of getting Funded Thesis-based Masters or PH.D positions, you will have to explore a whole lot of Canadian Universities and contact the Professors of those schools that has Research Areas that relates to your Research Interest.

Don't limit yourself to 1-10 or 15 schools, explore as much as u can, that's why I said U HAVE TO SERIOUSLY WORK FOR IT

Your home times in terms of social is strong. It is safe to opine that you have strong tie in Nigeria than Canada. However, you should know that, home tie is not only about social. There are financial and economic aspect. And on top of that, they will review your app in it's entirely and not home tie alone.

Is your study purpose strong?
Financial - self and sponsor?
Future goals and objectives?

Ensure you tick all boxes and not just one aspect.

All the luck.

You have more than enough home ties based on the profile you mentioned. You only need to articulate these very well in your SOP and support with documentary evidences in your application. I also have siblings in Canada and the USA but these did not affect my application negatively. I have also read about people on this page whose foreign based siblings or relatives served as main or co-sponsors in their successful application. I think you have started well by reading through the historical feeds. Now focus on strategies to highlight and document your available home ties. Gurus in the house will provide more specific guidance if you ask for those advisory. Best of luck and may it end in praises as usual.

I have a sibling who is Canadian citizen and I got approved. I don’t really know what they take into consideration when denying pple who have family ties abroad.

I’ll advise you give it a shot, you may be approved as well.

Best of luck

Are you sure about this? @.JustMellow..... I don't believe IELTS General qualifies for the Nigeria Student Express Program (NSE). In view that this is a study permit application and not a permanent resident application, an IELTS Academic module would be the best fit here.

It will end in praise

Hello Frankrobbn1,

Like you already know, Academic Institution and Immigration are two separate entity. Academic institution literally don't accept IELTS General as a valid/thorough assessment but Immigration would accept IELTS Academic, ONLY if its via the Study route.

Meaning, any of both for applicants immigrating through the study route would essentially suffice to meet the need. NSE is an imitation of SDS which accepts IELTS General for the Stream even when the purpose of travel is noted as study.

I am of the strong opinion that same is applicable for NSE program because the IELTS as part of the program requirements was categorically SPECIFIC by the use of "OR" without sub-specifying.

How's the goings bro?!

Cheers!

Hi @justmellow,

Thank you so much for your analysis.

The passport for my previous travel history is missing but i got a police report for it.

I think I will need guidance for my study plan.

I am already working on the activity of the account and the other things you mentioned.

Do you have any ideas on how I can show that my circumstances have improved since the last time I applied?

Hello Oreafe,

When IRCC refers to "Situation (or Circumstance)" has improved, it simply means "When/If" there is a new (or additional) information that the VO can work with to efficiently process the application.

Its good there is an evidence for the missing PP at hand though I don't think it would be absolute when making claims to places you've been to. Though it goes also a long way to prove your honesty. If you still have the email of the visa approval(s) to those places and/or correspondence with the concerned VAC/Embassy reflection your personal and visa application information or Notification/Congratulatory email of approval, you may want to also include it to support the claims of travel history.

There is already a comprehensive guide to writing a study plan on Page 1, check it out.

All the best

Thank you all for your responses.

But I also want to ask if it's most likely I get MSc scholarship with my profile.

Like I said earlier, I have M.Sc , ACA and 10 years work experience in same Audit . I am also married with 2 dependants.I would like my family to join me.

Do I have a good chance of getting study visa if I secure admission?

What are the chances of getting scholarship in probably M.Sc Finance / Accounting or other related courses?

Will a previous MSc degree give me a better chance of getting study visa and probably scholarship?

Also as regards my spouse, what kind of opportunity can he get on temporary work permit?

Please enlighten me on available choices so I can pick the most suitable option to immigrate to Canada.

With appreciation.

Hello Fareemah,

Things change though but you may likely not get a scholar or funding in (M.sc.) Finance/Accounting program. Irrespective of meeting the admission requirements, there are still no guarantee for admission but getting it won't be a complete write off.

I don't know your financial strength and/or have in-depth knowledge of your financial circumstances as only you understand this than anyone else. If your financial strength and source of funds are not steadily reliable and good, going with them would be a bad idea.

A second degree (2nd M.sc) would in a way reduce your visa chances ONLY if you're not clear enough about your study progression and career prospect. Even if you're clear enough, it still in a way not appropriate to opt for a second degree for a second time. Study progression is as critical as sufficient funds during Eligibility Review by the VO.

With the SOWP, your spouse can get blue-collar jobs but if the (your spouse) intention is to apply for PR before you round up your study and PGWP program, any blue-collar jobs she intend to do should maybe fall between NOC 0, A or B.

Lastly, the study route and the EE is the most suitable route, especially for Nigerians. If you're can get your CRS score to be 472 as of November 18th draw, I would say go for EE.

All the best

Good afternoon house and the gurus,

Pls I need advice on what to do regarding my application with respect to the Nigeria Student Express. The bank account am using is my mum's account that is domiciled in the UK. My first question is how do I submit the online certificate since it is not a Nigerian bank.

@Lekiboboe, @frankrobbn1, @justmellow, @Lekiboboev2, @Pee2jay9 Kindly help out.

Hello Seyiki,

You should talk to your mom to enquire from her bank for further direction. However, its not a compulsory factor that you must opt the NSE processing.

The NSE would be best for prospective applicants who would have the time to prep for the IELTS and/or building their funds to the stipulated eligibility amount, and not for those that already have their application processing ongoing. 75k is a whole sum that can be well-invested.

All the best

Once you have an admission from a DLI institution and the required funds, you're eligible for a Study Permit application.

Goodluck.
