My brother that was exactly what made me sold the car, those cars are notorious for oil burn.

Sorry to go off topic. I am aware of the cons of receiving transfers from riders, however I am usually ok with transfers most of the time.

I took this calm looking northern lady from Lagos Business School, she said she was going to the international airport so we moved. She had this cardigan with her, so I believed she was heading to US or somewhere cold. Upon dropping at the airport, she did a transfer from her Jaiz bank, she was debited but I did not get alert.

I was about leaving (with the mind that I would get alert as I have not been duped before) someone knocked on my window, it was an airport official saying the lady was to go to MM1. I asked the lady where she was travelling to as she said Kano. So I took her to MM1 and collected 1k from her (800 after deducting toll). I raised the alert issue and she said we should be patient for the alert.

I called her in the course of the day and she said she has done another one and has been debited again. By Monday, she said her account has been frozen and she has been having similar issues with people not receiving payments from her. She also said until her account is unfrozen before anything can be done.

Now she is cutting my calls and must have blocked me on Whatsapp. I have her phone number and account details. I am not certain if she is a gentle fraud or just a slow poke who means no harm.

The trip is #4,900 and I am in limbo for now as Uber said it is more than 3 working days already.

Thanks so much for the response
Almost at the minimum, so instead of toping it, I just Service it

Keep using it like that; servicing every month. Use the same engine to save for a new engine bro.

Go for matrix; less prone to vandals/robbers
Its booth can conveniently carry more items than corolla.
It is almost as strong as Corolla and I think relatively less expensive than coro.

Good afternoon wonderful people... I am new at this Uber/Taxify business. I jus got a Honda Civic 2006 to use for the business and pay for the car in installments. Please what are the strategies in getting profit from this business?

Currently I am using only the Uber app, which I used like 2 years ago and I worked for like 2 days now and profit after fuel is jus like 8k for me..

Is it several short distance trips that is preferable to make profit or long distance trips, cos I took a trip from Alaba to ijesha surulere, even after d holdup stress using like 2hrs on the road, bad road n all, the app jus calculated fare of 2500... as in d tin weak me..

Abeg make una come to my rescue, what are the tips to make at least 10k after fueling daily, so I can be paying for my car n make money for myself too oo

@ kamikaze.

check your balance using your bank app.

Remain calm, don't flood the lady with calls. Just send her a message that you are yet to receive the alert.

Believe me, if she's truly from the North, she sent your money. An average lady from the North won't stoop low to scam you of ₦4,900..

Gosh
I got the car this year may(toks)
Total 5w30 is around 17k while the 20w50 is 6400
Please what can I do as i don’t have money for new engine at the moment?

You need to research more about maintenance before you buy another car. SYNTHETIC 5W30 is the price you listed. CONVENTIONAL 5w30 is same price as 20w50.

If you don't have money for a new engine you now have one more option to add to the previous ones. Ride till it dies.

Good afternoon bosses. Is there any Insurance company that you guys recommend for a Uber Driver. I gave my car to a driver & i really thinking about getting comprehensive insurance. The problem is the lady I spoke with at Axa Mansard says that none of their insurance plans cover vehicles used for Uber. I.e if i want to make a claim & they find out the car was used for Uber, they won't pay. I also spoke to someone at iei but I suspect that he is a marketer eager to close the deal. He just agrees to anything I say.

So please which insurance companies do you recommend, or does everyone wing it ?

Thank you for your help.

Sorry about your situation bro... if you read my post very well again.. I stated that you more than likely bought a naija used camry .. Most naija used cars are grossly abused.. The previous owners or owner must have known that the engine was going bad and decided to get rid of it before it becomes obvious......

Your options are very limited , you have few options here.

1. You can get a second opinion to verify that truly the engine is gone . And that replacement of engine or ringing is the only way forward..... But only risk here is that naija mechanics ringing will only last up to 6 months before the engine finally gives up the ghost... so you can try and risk it .. Ring the engine and hustle to save money with tokunbo engine before that 6 months expire... the cost of tokunbo of that engine can cost up to 350k naira, don't quote me on that ,call engine seller to verify actual cost...

2. One funny guy stated that you should continue topping the oil etc .. And those camry are known to burn oil like etc .. And you stated that your camry is 05 .. Have been selling cars for years, 05 camry are not known to short oil.. Whoever tells you that are unfortunately very and very incompetent... 2007 to 2009 camry are known to short oil .. It was a factory defects, all the camry 03 to 06 that I sold in the past had excellent engine. Those engine were almost bullet proof and they can handle abusive owners.. But my very first 07 camry that I sold, it was obvious that it short oil. ........good luck bro ,think am before you make a final decision. Best of luck

In fact I don retire in oil issue. Dru to take over grin

Brake pads
Alternator
Spark plugs
Spark coils

These above are not actually correct based on condition of the part u are buying.

Please when buying plugs buy IRIDIUM quality don’t buy the conventional one.

I just changed my plugs last week, omo my fuel consumption reduced wella. So if e don tey wey u changed your spark plugs endeavor to do it asap.

She may not be a fraud; Jaiz bank inter transfers is always problematic.
I had several failed transfers from a friend using that Jaiz bank and was debited. At times it took days for reversion. He stopped using that bank whenever he wants to make transfer thereafter.
My Advise: give the lady some days, maybe 2 weeks to sort things out first. If she is not forthcoming then we(this honourable house)go the usual route.
