Hope you know if I am trapped @ Sterling bank, you are also trapped @ Gsk.

And if I remember, you were loading Sterling bank above #2 and caverton arnd #2 not quite long ago and you haven't sold o.

I have done more than 5 Jijo in different stocks in this week alone including Gsk.I withdrew good portion of the profit for goat meat and nkwobi and reinvested others.

Let's see how today goes Sha.
Next week will give a clue of whether to remain in the market or go for break.

But I see another consolidations/breakout soon If not Xmas expenses onboard now.But whereby there is no better place to put money for good returns, people will be forced to continue with stocks till things get clearer.

VBF - Vantage Balance fund is also a mutual fund. While VGIF is in the fixed income category with guaranteed capital and interest/income and major underlying asset on FGN Bonds, VBF on the other hand does not guaranteed capital and interest/income reason being that the major underlying asset is equity with some real estate and money market instrument. The reason for its doing well now is because of the current positive activities in the stock market.
VBF is more or less like investing in the stock market the difference is that you leave the picking of equities in the hands of the fund managers.
it's good but it's risky compare to VGIF. The 14% you see can become negative if the NSE goes south or can be higher if there is crazy bull at the floor of the NSE
what is the minimum opening balance for VGIF?

The market will continue to be like a pot upon the Nile for now which will be appealing to the JIJOist. Buy with absolute caution to not get fingers burnt. To the JIJO newbies, always net off all commissions and charges before you know your exit and entry.

Japaul issue was discussed extensively here some times ago......
It generated and used to generate lots of controversies...........
I'll advice you look more in the way of fundamental stocks and leave Japaul for the fans............lol. grin
The coy recently divested (went into) another biz (aside their core biz)..................the Mining sector to explore it.
There's a plan by the management to come to the market in form of IPO/right issue/Private placement or maybe source for investors......this was approved by the coy directors in their last AGM.

Nothing happening in the stock for now....................(except maybe for some investors/Jijoists positioning ahead of the IPO/right issue, in case they will pump the price to suit the purpose) ............

As Unilever is able to cut down their lost this last quarter compared to the previous year. Will it translate into increase in stock price. Considering the fact that the stock price lower than what it is sold by this time last year?

I think it was because of there were no release of its results since q1 2019, when they did sometime this year for q1 2020, they were improvements YOY, although still in the RED .
With the euphoria of being in the Agric Sector coupled with this government plans for agriculture and all, it just caught up with livestock, okomu, and Presco in the bull run back then. We wait to see more.

Do you mean "cut down their loss in Q3 compared to Q2"....and not last year?

Anyway, Unilever still needs to do something about their huge expenses, it's chopping too deep into their profits.
If they can successfully do this, it will translate to improved results and price appreciation over time.

Are you trying to ask if you should buy or not?

For the second part Yes. This govt is trying to encourage farming and have lots of plan for the sector.
Quite a lot of enlightenment and empowerment programs going on in Agric sector, let's just pray that those on top will not mess up the plan by diverting the funds meant to support farmers, especially low scale ones.
Investors may come up to acquire the coys or govt may decide to pump money into it........bigger coys may equally acquire the smaller ones, we don't know what may happen.
Livestock for instance has been witnessing patronage these past days/weeks, I think it has to do with the interest in Agric sector too.
This is just my opinion anyway......not any form of advice.

Read up on Jim Simmons, his funds approach has largely been algo-based, both in the forex and securities.
