I do not support the lady's rudeness, but the company should have informed her on the method they would use to contact her in case she was selected. It is just standard procedure.
Is her own response standard?
Informing her doesn't matter.
She is too full of herself

What if that is the mode of selection with respect to the nature of the job.

I agree, but try and look at it from this perspective : you receiving a text from an anonymous number on WhatsApp is a breach on your privacy and security. And as you know, this is 9ja, and you cannot vouch for the next man. So her response is only natural given thve circumstances
Baba this is Naija, most of all this so call companies and not so informed a to privy policy or standard procedure of doing thing mind you Nigeria is one place that if your very organised people say you dey form posh! So things are done Nigeria way here so she should continue chasing away are future.but that girl might be very beautiful cos most beautiful Naija girls like her act like that but then again for this one her village people at work

shut tf up bro, stop giving excuses for low IQ and uncouth stupid ladies, she should have at least calm down to hear the guy first instead of the unnecessary rant, that's ill manner
You are castigating a lady for being so ill mannered, yet here you are displaying worse. You’re worse than the lady you’re complaining about. Take out the mountain in your eye before you complain about the mole hill in another’s. She was rude, but your response is totally crass. You’re complaining about the lady not being calm, yet here you are blowing hot air out of your rear end. one lady was offensive, and you have ascribed her character to others. I won’t do the same because I have met and worked with men who watch what they say. They are gentlemen who know how to communicate politely.

Can you remember when N-power started recruiting?

In case you have forgotten, let me jog your memory for you :

When N-power did their recruitment excercise, they told all applicants prior to the time of selection that they will notify all successful applicants through SMS!

But here, they gave no formal notification; they just emerged out of the blues and started Whatsapp with live-chat like we are seeing here! undecided
Nevertheless, a total stranger was not supposed to be ridiculed the way she did

Bia Jashub u are a very foolish fellow. U are wise in ur own eyes, but u are a big fool. Any sensible person will know that the girl's response was soon rude and mannerless. But u are here talking thrash from the beginning of the thread.

Truth is most Nigerian girls are rude, uncouth and mannerless. I guess this is due to the constant attention they get from guys trying to get underneath their skirt. They believe the whole world revolves around them. But thankfully it doesnt.
[/s] I can see you one of those misogynist who come online regularly to say stupid things about women in general.

Martinez39s:
When you create your company, reach your prospective employees through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms. Don't tell a company how they should reach their prospective employees. They know what they were looking for and they knew the test that would separate the unworthy from the worthy. How they test is up to them not you. Who are you or anyone to tell a company how to contact or test their prospective employees?

Bullshit. There was nothing unethical or unprofessional here. The company, their rules.

Building more irrational excuses. Being polite and well-mannered cost nothing. Instead of doing what is right by supporting and encouraging good behaviour, you wasted energy subtly covering up and excusing trashy attitude and attributing blames to the company. Why? It's because you and jashub are just like the lady in the chat, attitude-wise. You both see yourselves in that lady hence the compulsive need to defend.

It's good that she was dismissed for her rudeness and ill manners. People like her and you guys are trash, real trash. You people do not change, and people who consider you friends should reconsider. At least, I am happy that most nairalanders have a good moral compass
Don’t hyperventilate with your moral compass nonsense.
If you investigate, you’ll be surprised that this didn’t even happen. Someone probably came up with a story to see how people would react.

Read my post well, I was being sarcastic with the other social media platform.

I don't blame the girl. Maybe that 45 yr old man had already wooed the 13yr old girl before that time.
Perfectsouth:
Just this afternoon, a lady was inside the hot sun and I took pity on her, she was waiting for a bike..
A bike man was gesturing to her maybe she is going.. About four people were trying to tell her and though she heard clearly, she looked away..
The bike man went to meet her and told her we've been trying to tell her there is a bike here, it was then she looked at us and was trying to apologize.
We all gave her Waka shege..
So many uncouth and untrained ladies out there..
A food seller of about 13yrs of age was selling food and she said something way way above her age then someone asked her who she was talking to, she said 'ELEYI' meaning this one..
She was referring to someone of about 45years of age as eleyi

At the bold, good to see your true character is shewing forth. No more hiding and covering your disrespectful nature with dumb verbosity. grin

Nah... I am not clueless when it comes to courtesy. As a matter of fact, I teach (have taught) many who care to learn, and they are far better individuals, doing exceptionally well in different chosen professions!!! So, I speak from experience.

You, on the other hand, have a very long way to go in terms of character! That is why you have been wasting your time and words jumping all over the thread trying vainly, poorly, and laughably to defend the indefensible...

Grow up, and learn how to communicate like someone who saw the four walls of a tertiary institution (that is if you did). Bye!!!

cheesy

I'm sure by the time you become your state Governor, you'll still run your state the way you want. cheesy

Later you'll start blaming Buhari.

Companies should be ran properly not how you want.

It's just so bad that we don't have choices in this country, in a sane environment, if your interview process is shitty you'd lose talent to competitors.
If I become a Governor, I will run it the way I presented my manifesto to my people b4 I became governor provided I didn't go against Nigeria constitution.

For company to conductor their own interview with the way they want, which aspect of constitution they breach sir.

Am not surprise with level of joblessness in naija, no wonder bubu labelled you guy, lazy Nigeria youth when he went abroad.

you keep arguing nonsense for Christ sake, you will be a problem for whoever that will be ur superior. Pls change if you want to get to the top.

.bye and disappear

Most ladies lack manners. I can remember last year during Jamb registration, a lady was having a serious issue doing regularisation of admission. She went to Jamb Office Umuahia but the person she met there directed her to come to my CBT center. That she should ask of Matthew (Which is me) that he will do it perfectly and settle the lingering problem easier. She was trying to go for service.

On getting to my office, I met her at the door. "Hellooo, good morning how are you and how may we be of help to you today" I said to her. The funny girl looked at me from hair to toe hissed and replied; "it's like you lack manners" maybe because she was brought in a Toyota Camry 2004 model. I felt like the ground to open and swallow me. I went out being embarrassed. The poor girl went into my office to report me to my staff. That it's like these stupid boys that work here are mannerless. The girl apologized, not knowing she was referring to me. She then said she was sent from Jamb office to meet one Mr Matthew. I was called. When I came in she found out that it was the same stupid boy she embarrassed at the entrance. She was silent for more than 5 minutes. The next thing was apology.
Trust me, I accepted the apology but I delayed her till jamb closed the portal for regularisation. At least she lost a year cos of that.
Women are just something else

True about the post likely being fabricated...

However, that response above is the standard for a lot of Nigerian youths, especially ladies.

A lot of our young people are becoming more discourteous and rude even at the slightest issue, or disagreement...

Nairaland is a typical pool to draw inferences.

Businesses in Nigeria like to play gods to the citizens due to unimaginable employment rate. That’s why some HR staff from some company would find it convenient to sit in his living room with a mobile phone in his hands stalking vulnerable people who sent in applications or attended interviews. This is bad...Sadly there are people supporting that.

It’s win win for such companies, they’d come in sheep’s skin via unprofessional platforms and when the response embarrass them, they’d claim rudeness and bad attitude...give such staff the needed attention and you’d hear how the potential employee was sexually harassed.

In Nigeria, bad habits have become normalised and part of everyday life.

Why do you think it happens to the female employees mainly??

Do you think the men are better behaved?

WhatsApp shouldn’t be a way for a company to communicate with a potential employee.

Some randy HR staff do abuse their positions by stalking female employees. Think.

If the company was desperate to communicate with a staff, phone their numbers recognised company numbers, send sms with company phones and send emails....why save someone’s number on WhatsApp and start stalking and sending them messages with ‘hi’?
