Wedding will take place December 24th. We will be applying early next year as against May intake.

I don’t think we will be having any joint bills.

Are we still good?

Thank you, he will be travelling to Lagos asap. god bless you

Majority of people went through the same trouble to get a booking. You just have to keep calling. Starting at 8am or go yourself or send someone to their office to make a booking......

If he travels down they might not give him that day appointment and can even give me an appointment in 3 weeks.... or can be given, you cant predict

So might be better if he knows someone in lagos who can first go and book it

When people say these things I laugh hard, what is the rate of acceptance into Canada? is Canda flowing with so much milk and honey that everyone that goes there has it easy? if your plan is to leave Nigeria, then do what you must, work hard and grind. Whether it is Canada or UK who go make am go make am. Moreover, there are so many Nigerians doing well in the UK, so stop trying to discourage people from getting active just stop.

Please can i travel for postgraduate studies to the UK with the kids but without my spouse as he intends staying back to assist with financial support. Please confirm if this is possible with a letter of consent or affidavit of consent.

My advice, the family should apply and get your visas then travel and get your BRPs. Then your husband can come back to Nigeria and continue with his life.

Trust me, you don't want to go the route of "providing compelling reason". You are at the mercy of the ECO, which means his/her interpretation of your "compelling reason" will determine the outcome of your application.

This is what we need to hear, encouragement not telling people not to leave Nigeria, there is information out there, ask questions, everyone's challenges will be different but you will survive.

bamangar:

I love your response and positivity. The fact that cars kill people on high way accident doesn't mean many people wont buy one or more. There are opportunities in the UK, even far better in Nigeria at the moment. One just have to ask questions and research. Challenges are different, what student bayo would face is different from what student Halima may face. But I believe nigerians are survival. The UK will be rolling out a point based immigration system in January 2021, with what is going on and how they are gradually bouncing back, I think more job opportunities would be created in 2021.

How many kids?.... you usually need a very strong compelling reason

I have the same issue too. I have 2 kids and my husband can't come with us because he is in the military and he wont be able to stay back. Is that enough reason please?
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by bamangar: 12:32pm On Nov 29, 2020
I need a viable response on this. I learnt that the UK student visa doesn't allow any form of freelancing jobs.
Some one was saying that one's student accounts are monitored. If you work far more than the hours, they will know. And if you make far more money required to be in your account as a student, they will know.

Now here is my point, someone that has social media platforms that generates up to N1m / £2k monthly, she has been running this social media platforms since she was in Nigeria and intends maintaining it while undergoing her masters in Uk. While in uk, she's making that money, withdrawing it with student account and using it to take care of herself.
Will the student visa be withdrawn Though all those money are made genuinely from her online platform she creates content for.

Secondly, can one run an online business while also doing student jobs with the normal 20 hours, if immigration discover they make more money, will it affect the student visa??

If you knew all this why did you go to the UK to study in the first place?

I guess you were one of those who believed that people were discouraging you from going to the UK.

It is valid reason and then it boils down to presentation. How you articulate that on paper and also show steps you are or have taken to cover child care ...

So it now depends on how old these two kids are . They need to have adult supervision at all times if under a certain age

Many have stayed back but it not easy for everybody ..... It can be down to the right course that is in demand, it can be to luck finding the job that goes on to file papers till ILR , or having relevant work experience or it down to many thing ...

There no one glove that fit all but yes many have made it . As long as you know it can be either a smooth or a rough road and then ride it with all your have and hope for the best.

A very good option is for him to apply with you & the kids, and then stay back he doesn't want to travel

The same way you know many people making it in Nigeria despite the doom and glom.

One of the biggest mistake people make is to come to the UK purely because they want to leave Nigeria disguised as genuine students

Do you have a realistic plan? Not about Nigerians are survivals, suffering in the UK is better than Nigeria bla bla bla

Is your course marketable in the UK? Can you graduate with a grade that will make you standout from thousands who have the same qualification?

What is your plan after graduation and you can't get a job?

To stay back you need to be able to continue extending your visa or switch to other type of visa.

Getting a graduate job is the shortest cut to that but the hardest as well now.

Now this is the issue...any job you applied for now will have thousands of applicants and you need to standout 2x to be invited for an interview, many of the applicants are citizens/PR holders who doesn't need a visa or any condition to get a job.

Those who stayed back genuinely worked their backside off and not wasting time spiritualising it.

Its absolutely possible to stay back but out of 100 Nigerian students who came to the UK to study probably less than 20 will be able to stay back genuinely.

A beautiful afternoon to everyone here, please I need your urgent advise. My hubby just got admission for his PhD and we want to apply for visa, below are my questions
1. Can the four of us apply at once? Or hubby should apply alone first. I'm thinking they will say the family is too large ( We have all the necessary cash)
2. Our first child is 19 and the second is 6, will the first born be disqualified because of his age?
3. If granted visa, is it advisable that we all leave at once?
Thank you all as I await your candid response.

Hello house,
I am filling the locator form. Please what phone numbers do I use for the locator form because I don't have a UK phone number.
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 1:48pm On Nov 29, 2020
1. Yes, you can all apply at once. You can also decide that your husband applies first if you think that there's a risk of refusal to prevent wasting the associated fees. This all boils down to your preferences.
2. No as long as he's not married, in a civil partnership or living an independent life.
3. Depends on you. You can decide for the main applicant to go first to sort accommodation so that the stress of searching and cost of temporary accommodation while you look for a permanent one doesn't affect you all. On the other hand, you can all decide to come together if you don't mind the cost and stress.

To prove that he's dependent on you, submitting the following will help prove your case and convince the ECO that he meets all the requirements of a student dependant visa;
1. An official letter from his current school, college or university that confirms his address (which should be same as yours).
2. bank statement (which may show funds that you/your husband are still providing to support him ie. Pocket money, school fees etc.).
3. Driver's licence (the address on it should be the same as your address). If no DL, you can use his voter's card as long as it's got same address as yours.
4. evidence that he is being financially supported by you and your husband up to the point of the application submission (for example, evidence covering a 3 month period prior to the application)
