Please Help! How Can I Handle This Issue by Villagemeat: 6:28pm On Nov 29, 2020
Hello all. The issue is,my phone was snatch on gun point. Due to the fact that I was busy,it took me four days to go retrieve my sim card.

I received a text message today from Migo (mobile loan app) that I have three days to pay back my loan of 12k. I never took loan from them,I chatted their customer care,I was told I use my sim card to borrow 10k from them, the interest is 2k,and the money was disburse to my first bank account. Is this possible? I don't even have a First bank account.

The customer care call me, that someone might have use my details to open a first bank account! Is this possible? that I should forward the Court affidavit I use for the Sim swab, but was surprised that they keep insisting I must pay the the principal loan amount which is 10k.

Please advise, what should I do now.

See, you can easily open an account with your phone these days.

They used your phone to get your bvn and from there opened a bank account with first Bank and from there applied for a loan with your new bank account.

It will be extremely hard to prove it wasn't you since you delayed in blocking the line.

You should have borrowed someone's phone and called your provider's customer care line to block your sim asap.

Your 4 day delay was very foolish of you.

What if the robbers were caught by the police with your phone ?

You would have been implicated as one of their members who fled or wasn't around when they were raided.

Delay is dangerous.

When you get a new phone and retrieve your line, make sure you have sim lock alongside phone lock activated .

And stop being a lazy slob.

As I have explained , you are the culprit here since it was your bvn linked number and account that was used to apply for the loan.

You still can remedy this by the following .

1. Retrieve your line

2. Go to the bank in question and get the account number they created with your phone.

3. Request for bank statement and check for transfer history .

4.They won't have been able to withdraw from the account as they would have not been able to get an ATM for it since the bank will verify their identity matches with yours by requesting an ID and doing a fingerprint check

5. Write officially to the bank management informing them of your predicament.

6. Make a police statement on this detailing the date of the robbery and also the issue involving Migo and the account that the loan was transferred to from your phone.

7. That account holder is not only in soup for identity theft, fraud but also an armed robbery suspect . The police will act on this since it involves armed robbery .

8. Report back to your bank with the police report and they will advice you accordingly .

9. Take the report from both the police, service provider and the bank to the suspects bank branch .they will freeze the account.

That's for paystack automatic debit repayment .

Does migo use paystack authorization?
