You are correct Ade mean Crown/Royalty, I have read lots of articles on the Ogisos and the coming of Oranmiyan influences the land and the culture, that's why culture and language is dynamic. In this pics below are examples of name people bear in Edo, you will find Ade as prefix or suffix, even Adedoyin, Adetutu, Adesusu, AdesUWA. This simply shows a fusion between the Yorubas (Ife migrants) + Idu/Igodomigodo the Aborigines of that land.

That doesn't mean a fusion between Yorubas and Idu/Igodomigodo...Like I said earlier, ADE means something else in Edo and the prefix or suffix does not mean anything was borrowed. For example, Ehime means "My Personal Guardian Spirit" in Edo but there is a place called Ehime in Japan and it will be false to deduce that one tribe borrowed from the other. Funny enough, Edo also used to be the name of Tokyo and we can't not say that it was founded by same people.

That been said, there are words that are borrowed by people who interact with each other over a long time.

From Kogi, Lagos, Kwara, Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Ogun reach Benin republic all our Yoruba parents refer to Benin as Ado unlike Ubinu which is derogatory.

The Yorubas that migrated into Igodomigodo saw unoccupied lands and called it "Ado" which means our new settlement.

It's now the Yorubas start calling it Edo unlike our parents.

We have Ado yam meaning Edo yam variety

We have Ado pepper

We have Ado Plantain etc all named after Edo products in d southwest.

Stop talking nonsense, you are making we yorubas look foolish

Yoruba camp to do what ?

Yoruba street is a recent naming just like Lagos street in benin

your illusion will not work

if you want to talk about camp for war ........

then I will tell you that Yoruba never in history wage a war against another tribe except themselves the only war they wage against another tribe was Oyo against Fulani and they lost

That's not true brother....its important to study history before making this type of statement

I will correct you here...

First of all, the word Yoruba to describe people that have the same origin ( ile-ife) is of recent in history

They were simply call Ekiti, Ijebu, Egba, Oyo, Awori etc

Secondly, Oyo empire fought more wars than most kingdoms in modern day Nigeria.....and that's what led to their downfall

They fought with many other Yoruba groups as you rightly said but also with Fulani, Hausa, Tapa, Ajase ( Yoruba in Benin Republic ) , Dahomey Kingdom ( very powerful kingdom), Nupe etc

Please note that Old Oyo empire known as as Oyo ile was in present day Niger state in Nigeria

Below extract is from history book -

The Oyo Empire was a Yoruba empire of what is today Benin and Western Nigeria (including Southwest zone and the western half of Northcentral zone). The Oyo Empire grew to become the largest Yoruba state. It rose through the outstanding organizational and administrative skills of the Yoruba people, wealth gained from trade and its powerful cavalry. The Oyo Empire was one of the most politically important states in the entirety of Western Africa from the mid-7th to the late 18th century,[2] holding sway not only over most of the other kingdoms in Yorubaland, but also over nearby African states, notably the Fon Kingdom of Dahomey in the modern Republic of Benin to the west.

Reference - Forde, 1967 page 36

Please Note- Benin in the first sentence above is referring to Benin Republic and not Edo

Ovbukho is male goat in Benin
Etinosa12345:

Sango is not a Benin word

Omi and amen doesn't sound alike

Iyi in Benin means established law...

According to the first dictionary by Ajayi Crowther, Ologbo doesn't mean Cat..

Most of the words apart from pepeye don't mean the same thing...

Goat means ewe in Benin... NOT ovuko

The Benin doesn't have word x in its vocabulary

Learn about others; stop being local champion. There's is Imade High School in my community; I think there's another one in Ọwọ. Things do not start and end in your vicinity.

I never dispute yours... In my place, we have Adesua. Ade = to Arrive or Crown; Ua = Good thing or Celebration.

I don't know the meaning of your own Adesuwa and I don't want to know.

You guys need to perfect your revisionism... and stop creating argument where there's none.

Yoruba gets no issues with you guys, you're just like a clan or local area in Yorubaland. It's a big insults for Yorubas to be concerned about your garrulous revisionism. It's a complex issue... we don't even know of your existence...

Benin doesn't use Baba... They use erha
Depending on how you are using it bro... Erhamwen means my father, Erha means your father while Baba means father.... Like when u want to call ur father like d title daddy in Benin, it's Baba, when u want to greet too it's Baba, even elderly men old enough to be our father we call dem Baba too.
