I don't want to shit on your parade, but I would be seriously worried about any school that mentions WAEC in relation to a graduate degree program as it is in no way an appropriate standardized exam for this situation. Like, really? The worst I've ever heard of grad programs talk about anything close to high school was when some business school programs allowed few candidates to submit their SAT scores in lieu of GMAT during the start of the pandemic. At least one can roughly extrapolate (not always) someone's GMAT/GRE score with SAT. Anyways these are strange times.

Yes, as an English proficiency test

Hello everyone, so am kind of new here.

I have an offer for a graduate program (mph) at University of Alabama at Birmingham with a January 2021 start date.

Please is it still possible for me to apply for a US visa to resume physically in January 2021 at UAB?

PS: I don’t have my I-20 yet

I really would appreciate suggestions and thoughtful answers.

Okay. I don't know if you need schools that are less expensive. If yes, I'd suggest you check out schools in Minnesota - they're relatively affordable.
Tulane University application fee is free until 30th Dec.

You 'may' not really find schools with full funding when it comes to undergraduate studies but you can get a scholarship, though not full and it has its own requirement as well.
And about the test, it actually depends on some schools - some will waive the tests and some will not, so it actually depends. I know some schools that do not require any sort of English Proficiency test
When you find school without a test, ensure you remind them when they receive your application/documents or when they're about to send the I20 form. This is to ensure also that they indicate "test waiver" in your son's I20 form.

Yes,it is possible.
If the embassy is still accepting electronic I-20,take the necessary steps and get it sent to you through email.
If they are not accepting it anymore, you can request for your I-20 to be mailed to you. I got everything done in a week(from requesting to getting it delivered).
When you get your I-20,pay your SEVIS fee and then book an appointment. Some people are still getting December appointment dates.
Some have not gotten yet.

Wow, Sorry to hear that. So you have to pay another mrv fee,

When did you apply for the emergency appointment? Was any reason given for the denial?

Good morning everyone,

I wanted to ask if it is alright not to fill in my parents name in my DS-160 form even though I had filled them in during my previous DS-160 forms for interviews?

The reason is my dad is presently in the US and I don’t want that to be a deterrent during my upcoming interview.

hello All,

Thanks you for this thread and the information shared.
here is my case:
Married with 2 kids and wife pregnant, both of us are going for MSc and currently considering a number of Universities with funding, we have streamlined to 1 or 2.
we are both planning to go by Spring 2022, but we have already started the process, initially my plan was to go for Fall 2021 while she goes for Spring 2022. But we are considering both of us going together.
Here is the issue iam applying for F1, wife is applying for F1 and kids applying for F2 (with my wife as the F1), i will like to seek for advise, help and suggestions on things to do to get Visa approved. Please note that we want to go for the interview same time and date

thanks

There are a lot of useful tips here. Right on this forum, I read that it is very important to properly prepare an introductory essay to the university. To get a student visa. I was advised here to contact https://paperell.com/ a special service for preparing various papers. It helped me. Since I myself am not very good at writing abstracts in English, I read further on the forum along with a piece of paper and a pen. Thanks to everyone who answers the questions you are heroes.

Hi everyone.

A friend of mine asked some questions which I'm not able to answer. She's not on NL but approved of me posting it here. Please, I need advice from experienced people here.

I will be sharing her story and her questions below. I'll be using imaginary names, so we can follow.

She (maiden name: Ada Okeke) recently lost her husband (Obi Eze) of 3yrs and they had a son (Junior Eze) together before his death.
She is a first class graduate, currently on her Master's program here in Nigeria and is considering PhD in the US (Fall 2021).

She has not done her change of name but on the child's birth certificate, her name is written as Ada Eze.

She's still young, so there's every possibility of remarriage. The child is 18 months old.

Now, she has the following concerns:
How will this affect her going with the child after getting the admission?
Should she still do the change of name so that it matches what is on her child's certificate?
Should she get another birth certificate for the child where her name is written as her maiden name Ada Okeke?
Also, she wants to get her intl passport soon and is not sure if she should do change of name before then or use her maiden name.

It's really complicated but I hope I was able to explain well.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

Good day everyone, I will like to ask;
Is it compulsory for the bank to address to the school on the letter of reference for a SOA or the usual "TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN" Is acceptable??

The SOA will be submitted to different schools for consideration. Thanks in advance.

Best to be consistent.... her ID should Match the birth certificate that she intends to use. What name that would be is her personal choice to decide
