what could be the cause of a HP Probook 6550b not increasing while charging? the thing does not increase at all even if you charge it for a whole day, 1 bar no go enter. we only use it when theres light. we use it while charging, but oce they take light, its off.

If your laptop have two RAM slots, just buy another 4gb RAM but if it uses 1 RAM slot you will have to buy a single 8gb RAM.

Nobody will tell you what the problem is until it is diagnose, you can remove your battery and press the power button for like 30sec to discharge it.

After that connect your charger and power it on, if problem persist I'll suggest you see a laptop technician.

Hello guys is it a bad thing if I don't shut down my PC for days. I use it for work and I don't want to close all the files am working on. So I only sleep it when am not using it. For the past six days I haven't shut it down. Hope it won't cause anything like hardware issue?

Hibernate the system.
Even "shutting down" the system doesn't really shut down all processes (the "System (Windows) Kernel" state is saved to disk, like the hibernation mode). Only when you Restart your PC do you really "shut down" and get a clean start when the computer boots up again.
So, the short answer to your question is: - Hibernate.

Try and shut down once in a while, so many motherboard have died because of hibernation/sleep.

You will see a client saying, I just hibernate it and it has refuse to power on or I have been putting it on sleep mode but today, after putting it on sleep mode it refuse to power on again.

Hello Good evening, I have a Dell M4600 precision, was working fine and suddenly it went off and when it is powered on, it will come on and then trip off..Took it to a technician who said it was the BIOS that had a problem and after flashing it came on, used it for barely a day before it went off again and started acting the same way again..The technician said it was the VGA card that was misbehaving.. I bought a new VGA card and still it did not come, it just comes on still trips off

my PC refuses to charge past 79%, I've left it charging for hours and it refuses to bulge.

Did some googling and according to HP forums and their diagnostics software, I need to calibrate it. The steps for calibration requires that I charge to 99-100, completely discharge and recharge till 99-100

The problem now is that how can I calibrate it when it refuses to fully charge?

My Compaq laptop refused to power on, so I just abandoned it for a while.

Last week, while enjoying a creamy cup of tea, I accidentally spilled the tea on my HP 2000.

Immediately, I turned it upside down and tried to perform a First-aid kind of repair on the laptop.

I removed every easily removable parts and went ahead to sun-dry the HP 2000. Then, I remembered my Compaq laptop, so I took it out to also enjoy a sun-bath with my HP 2000.

When I brought the Compaq in, I allowed it to cool and then powered it on, voila! The laptop came to life.

Shockingly, I tried to power it on the next day but it wasn't responding. I repeated the same process - Put it in the sun, allow it to cool and then power on)... It turned on again!



At first, I thought it might be the CMOS. But after some test, I realized it wasn't the CMOS.



Gurus in the house, what should I do to make this laptop start working perfectly?





Problem 2:

The audio of the Compaq laptop is not functioning. I tried using earpiece to see if the speaker was faulty, but the sound still wasn't playing.



I'm guessing it can be the audio driver (abi, what do you engineers call it sef?), or maybe a fault from the Windows 7 OS, I'm not sure.



What should I do?
