Hello House,

Please I need some assistance with my application- I have filled the forms and paid the fees this morning. I was then redirected to TLS website to continue the application and pay another 55 pounds.

My concerns are- 1. why do I have to pay this and cant this be paid at the office. (or is this because I selected the V.I office)
2. what documents do I need and how do I upload them.

I will give an example.
Braided attachment is not contraband, someone I know carried so great a quantity cus she wanted to go sell them there. From border officer she went into secondary questionin and her bag was searched. This alarming number of hair attachments opened doors to more questions.

Although she claimed she defended herself, the border officer still had her deported bcus according to him she was coming for business and work which are against the rules of the tourist visa she filled So pls dnt rule out people’s experiences sayin no one cares what u are carrying as long as it is not contraband.

They care if they want to!!!

And you don't see the difference in this scenario with the one here?

Well let OP do whatever they want though.

So misleading. I know people that were turned back at the border after going into questioning room and visa forms were opened and they were sayin a different thin at the border as against what was on their form. Dnt say this please.
U just hve to be truthful at the POE. That’s all but they do check if they want to , which one is nobody has time. U should also be aware that it is at the discretion of the border officer to grant entry, say u get visa no mean say u will enter.

Not everyone with visa is granted entry, facts

Because people lie at the POE. It's not normal procedure to take people to the questioning room unless there are discrepancies or inconsistencies in your answer to the ECO hence they need to question you further to determine your intentions.

Like I said let the OP be honest. From what OP stated here no law has been broken. OP is a tourist and the food is a gift to a friend/relative.

Each to their own sha.

U should book a return flight for your parent as long as it is a visit so you dont risk them gettting turned back at the border.

Alright
Thanks

Nchabuomo:

Yes you need a return flight if the person is a non resident. You might book a one-way and get away with it but it's at the discretion of the ECO. To avoid wahala book return, if you aren't sure when the return will be, make it as further away as possible or keep it open.

Thanks

If you are in Lagos, go to their office @ikeja or better still go to the airport and make your inquiry over the counter ✌️

Has anyone flown Virgin lately, please?
Did you take a COVID test ?

The website says we have to but Wakanow says no need. Who do we listen to bayi? We already paid for tickets.

To the best of my knowledge this is just a flimsy excuse which I believe you can tackle and win. Kindly send a detailed mail explaining the education system in Nigeria especially the ongoing ASUU Strike, pandemic and endsars which hindered smooth educational system. Explain there is no possibility of abandoning over 5years of sweat studying so as to over stay in UK. Search for the email addresses to send the mail to on this thread, I can't flip through not to miss these points. If it was me, I will state all this without any reapplication till I am justified. No time to waste money. Remember I went through route of denial with flimsy excuse, addressed with them and was granted.

Thank you so much for your input, it is really appreciated.

I will go through the thread now to look for the email, and will fire something across to them but please do help me with it if you manage to find it also.

I am glad to hear that you also went through the route and got their decision overturned. It is really unacceptable the way these people treat applications.

Hopefully I will be back with some good news soon.

Thanks

I believe I have found the link - the one you pay to send email right?

Many thanks for your help, I have now sent them an email outlining the obvious facts - email below if it'll help any other person.

Dear Sir / Madam,

I hope this email finds you well.

I am writing in response to the refusal of visa for our son ............. Which I have just noticed in my junk folder today.

I note that his application has only been refused due to the fact that the officer believes there is no further indication of any further studies in 2021 to return to Nigeria to.

I would like to point your attention to the fact that we uploaded alongside his application details of his ongoing Law School education.

The educational system in Nigeria is different from what it is in the UK. For a law student, they have to go through 4 years at a Higher institution, after which are enrolled into a Law school for another year before finally going for another year at NYSC, this in total makes 6years - 4 years of study at the university, 1 year in Law School and 1 year of national youth service.

******* finished University in 2019, and gained admission into Law school in 2020 (His admission letter dated 2020 has been attached which shows he is in batch II 2020 - second batch), his Law school education has been greatly impacted due to the strike in Nigeria, the Covid19 pandemic which halted everything, and the very recent End SARS protest.

He resumed Law school on the 13th of February and only spent 2 months before having to leave due to the Covid pandemic. He only spent 2 months out of the 1 year and has been out of school since the beginning of the pandemic (Nigeria has no means to take education virtually like other advanced countries such as UK, so students have had to stay at home).

Even without the distruptions that has happened this year, he would have finished Law school in March 2021, but with the everything that has happened, it will even take him even longer to finish – with a potential end date somewhere in the end of 2021.

There is absolutely no way in the world that he would abandon the 5 years of hard work and studying he has put in at university in Nigeria to flee to the UK as indicated in the refusal letter. If this had been the intention, we wouldn’t have enrolled him at Law school in the first place. Not now that he is very close to his dreams, which is to be called to bar!

I strongly believe that his Law school information has not been put into consideration when reaching the conclusion to refuse his application, and that only his degree which has indeed finished has been considered.

We really just want to spend time together as a family for Christmas before he resumes back to Law school in *** on the 4th January (proof attached to application), and to have him refused for a reason that is not justifiable is heart breaking to us as a family.

We really hope that his law school indeed be put into consideration, and that his application is reconsidered as we believe there must have been an oversight somewhere.

Many thanks in advance for your help and I look forward to hearing back from you.

If you did not select assisted service on TLS website, just keep checking those time, maybe choose another date and see if you can get a self service appointment, try 10-11 or 12pm respectively ✌️
