The problem with him is actually that he does not fit into our pattern.
He is a good goal scorer but his all round play is very poor for a forward.
He seems to lack agression, mobility, dribling skills etc and cannot play as a lone striker.
It's a question of pattern and style of play.
The problem is there are other players that can easily fit into our pattern.
From emmanuel dessers and even to Sadiq Umar.
Sadiq Umar's all round play is spectacular. He is very skillfull, mobile and creative.
Onuachu can only play in one limited pattern that is why he struggles in Nigeria
His footballing skills are too limited

Paul Mukairu has won his first honour in Belgium after his match winner against Antwerp on his debut was voted Goal of the Month for November by his club Anderlecht.


Mukairu, 20, came off the bench to curl an unstoppable shot past the Antwerp goalkeeper and give Anderlecht maximum points in a crucial league clash.


The winger has since provided two assists for the Brussels giants.

Mukairu recalled the events leading up to his historic goal: “It was a tough week, I had only three trainings I guess (before the game).

“I came in and scored the winning goal in an important game, it was my first game.”

He promised more going forward.

“I will keep working hard and hopefully get a second goal,” he vowed.

So you think the under -20 has been a total failure??
I wouldn't use the term total failure, some of them will end up in the senior team while majority will not and it will not spell doom for the SE because players can be called up from anywhere in different leagues.

Sir, this happens everywhere. Trent Alexander Arnold is the only player from his under 17 set currently in the English national team. The Akpoguma Germany Under 20 team that beat us has only Brandt and Weigl in the National set up. You don't expect every player to make the step or do you??.

And BTW I repeat the under 20 have done just okay in respect to its purpose (serving as platform for players to enter the nation team).

The Lacazete set that beat us was 2011. Omeruo, Olanrewaju Kayode, Musa, Uche Nwofor, Ramon Azeez, Ajagun all played from the National team from that set and some are still part of the national team. We've seen guys like Ndidi, Moses Simon, Uche Agbo, Shehu Abdulahi from 2013. The only difference btw we and the European countries is that they have a structure and a well functional league, hence they are not totally dependent on Age grade tournaments. But we here if our age grade team under performs, it might spell doom for the national team


Not just about earning caps and fading off. But forming a new core. Transition has really gone back over a decade. The qualifiers method by CAF also contributes it own quota. A big issue is repping at the WYC which is one of the most important but now all history.

Well some might bring the Noisy neighbors talk...Ghana that year, but progress should be way vivid than than.

You're right about the structure. It's should be a normal by now. That being said....

They are playing to his strengths. He's more comfortable with them than he has ever been with us.

However, I know this may sound unpopular.
But, I think we have an attack problem, it wouldn't be out of place to have Ighalo and Victor Moses back with the team of they are available.

I think we should explore other option like dessers, Sadiq Umar, Moffi, Taiwo Awoniyi e.t.c. or even more foreign borns like lucas Nmecheta instead.
We have upcoming attacking talent we need to give a chance

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp was furious after a tackle from Frank Onyeka during the opening minutes of his side's 1-1 draw with Danish champions FC Midtjylland in a Champions League match at the MCH Arena on Wednesday evening.

At the end of the group stage, Onyeka committed the most fouls, 18 in total from six appearances, which is three more than Red Bull Salzburg's Enoch Mwepu, and only PSG's Neymar (24) suffered more fouls than the Nigeria national teamer (19).

Klopp was frustrated after the tackle from Onyeka and made his feeling known to FC Midtjylland coach Brian Priske.

"Why do you play like that? It's exactly like in the first match, " Klopp shouted at Priske, according to BT.

Priske claims that he did not see the incident involving the Nigerian and a Liverpool player, adding that his players had to play a little hard to earn a result against the Premier League champions.

"I actually did not even see it. I saw him shortly before the match and was inside greeting him on the pitch.

"I use my gunpowder on those who sit next to me and that is where the focus lies and lay.

"We knew very well that today it was about delivering and showing them that we had the hunger that was needed, and then you have to play a little hard.

"It does not happen, it is after all football players we are dealing with. Also on the other hand, they are welcome to fight a little," he explained.

Onyeka was walking a disciplinary tightrope after he was shown a yellow card for a reckless challenge on Divock Origi in the ninth minute and had to be substituted 18 minutes into the second half to avoid him being sent off.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria ended 2020 in 35th position in the final ranking released for the year on Thursday, Completesports.com reports.

The ranking was published on world football governing body FIFA’s official website.

After failing to win any of their four games played this year (one defeat, three draws), the Eagles maintained their 35th spot in the last ranking.


On the continent, the three-time African Cup of Nations champions occupy fourth position.

Also ending the year in 35th place in the world and fourth in Africa is Morocco.

The Teranga Lions of Senegal finished 2020 as Africa’s best team in 20th and number one on the continent.

Tunisia are second in Africa and 26th on the globe while reigning African champions Algeria are 31st in the world and third in Africa.

Belgium finished the year at number one and are followed by France, Brazil, England and Portugal in second, third, fourth and fifth respectively.

The next FIFA ranking will be published on 18 February 2021.

Dessers isn't really struggling... 4 goals and 1 assists in 11 games mostly as a sub isn't a bad return... Onuachu is just ahead of him...

@bolded we scored 10 goals in four games and we conceded 7 in the qualifiers. That's not an attacking problem but a game management problem. And this has been happening under Gernot Rohr, against Libya we bottled a two goal lead, same against Ukraine. The problem Is not in attack at all but with the coach cool
