Instead of fidson, ogg has been loading glaxosmith. Though we dont know his thoughts as to how the news of their namesakes vaccine wont come online till the late end of 2021 will affect his decision going forward.

I do not believe believe OGGs +ve disposition to GSK was based on CV19 vaccine. I believe it was based on their balance sheet. Any news from the vaccine is a bonus.

You're right with the Uncle Jim. Think we've said it here sommetimes too.......that if Jim or Tony were to be the CEO, Japaul wont be trading less than N5 at least. Jegede is a 'gentleman' playing by the rules........ grin

As for Uniondac, that one is an old story nah. The info was out since.
It was SEC that delayed it till now. 35kobo per one, ready buyer.
The smart ones loaded this stock at 25/26kobo before now.
The purchase price was small though.

who told you this?
let him come and explain how he spent our IPO money in 2009!

Better dont worry yourself much about GTB.
If you're inside the bus and entered at low price, just relax and allow the Mafias to do their things....while you look for another lesser stock to worry about, if you must worry. grin
Don't trust them, they more you look the less you see. Market is gradually moving toward one direction, before 31st December watch your back, and before 14 January, also 28 January.

We were talking in terms of share price manipulations nah.
Jegede can't Match Jim or Otedola in this aspect.
If Otedola were to own Japaul, it can't be trading below N5 at least, especially with news of divestment to gold, silver and the like. That's what we were saying...

It seems something big is brewing in Access and UBA. The pattern of bids and offers is suspect as if it is meant to stabilise the price at the current level.

Just my opinion oh

Oga bigjay, that's 2007 IPO before the general crash.
All stocks were affected........though I got what you're saying.
Shebi you can even still see Japaul, there's still hope. What of Afro Oil mentioned by Pa Emma the other time?
Lol. Don't mind me. grin

correct, but we should have been chopping dividends in the intervening period. Shouldn't we?

to put things into perspective, i got into NSE around Jan 07. The 1st stock i bought with my sweat was UBA @48. then the doom of the Sanusi era. Would it surprise you to know that with bonuses, average downs (2.90 levels come to mind) and constant dividends, UBA is one of my best performers. I am doing 3 baggers (never mind dividends).

Some people in Japaul just chop clean mouth. Abeg make dem go park well jare.

Access and Uba are on their tireless journey to 6 naira. Zenith heading to 16. Fire in Katanga!

What has happened to the Fire in Katanga! I personally need some explanations. I just hope nobody here took all the panic messages serious and went ahead to sell at loss because there were serious and repeated warnings against such action. I'm saying this not to mock anyone, but to encourage someone because the stock exchange has a trend or cycle that always repeats itself again and again.

Again, it is very dangerous to engage in panic selling or trading! A good strategy with good information and patience is what an investor needs to trade successfully on the Exchange without unnecessary panic.

Is Fidson doing vaccines?

Hope you remember that Fidson will be Manufactoering for GSK very soon.

Meaning GSK will be transferring lots of cost to Fidson.

even if they are now mining diamonds, I couldn't give a monkeys.
For all I know, he is one of those that had no business (and still doesn't) soliciting public funds.
I remember very well, at the time £1 was roughly at N190 levels.
He would have done fantastically well playing fixed income (bonds, TBills et al).

You are probably right. Attached bellow are the results. I used the smaller morgan capital sample data running from march to yesterday.

To clarify a few things,

1. I collect the closing prices on the first trading day of the month and subtract the closing price at month end.
2. I do that for all listed stocks, then I pick the 5 lowest performers.
3. On the next month, I buy these stocks at the beginning of the month and sell at end.
4. I stake 200k equally on each selected stock.
5. Repeat the process over and over.
6. To make the automation more realistic, I also implemented trading charges. (1% from buy and 1% from sell)

Compared with buy and hold it didn't perform as well, while some stocks have netted over 80% in returns this strategy made only 17.7%. Maybe it will need a few tweaks here and there.

I also ran same test on the larger data set and I was only able to double the starting 1 mil by the end of the 8 years (2012 to 2020). I didnt post the results here because of the size of it. embarassed embarassed

Note: the whole thin was automated with a python script, it took me 2 hours, sha, to debug certain aspects of the code that were malfunctioning.

Leave the column. It's for company not individuals.
Sign the column directly below e-mail address.
No need taking to bank for any endorsement.

Thank you once again.
I have another request pls.
I use morgan capital now to buy shares
To get my dividend, I downloaded the e-dividend mandate for the registrar of the stocks I hold.
On the form, there is a column to tick the name of company and the shareholder's account number.

How do I get this shareholder's account no.?

Somebody dropped this during the Webinar grin

TO FEMI SHOBANJO & OSCAR ONYEMA CEO NSE. AIICO officially shifted the corporate action date from 30/9/2020 to 30/11/2020 and the shares was marked down on 1/12/2020. But at the AGM they now shift to 31/12/2020 after it was marked down previously. Will NSE as a regulator allows this fraudulent act by AIICO?

I would normally leave it blank unless you have the old style warrants (where you can pick up the info). Your name and address should uniquely identify you.

Option 1: If you have an account with Morgan Capital, it usually sends daily price list in pdf format daily. You can from there compile your data everyday. I use PyPDF4 module for this task, then pass it to pandas and finally save it in my harddrive in CSV format.

Option 2: you can scrap from investig dot com, I find investpy module very easy to use for this purpose. Unlike option 1, you get a data set from 2012 to date.

Option 3: Again you can scrap from NSE website or Morgan capital platform directly. I use requests, BeautifulSoup and selenium modules for this task.

Python is very useful for this kind of stuff. Once I have the data, I keep each stock in separate csv files. Then, I update daily or when ever I have d time expecially option 1, 90% automated.

If you know SQL or any other database program u can use that, for me it is csv cos it is easy to maintain and manipulate with pandas or excel.

Cheers! We most chop this NSE money. grin

So...erm...
You will need to be cautious when scrapping websites. A friend of mine once got a cease and desist letter from NSE for stocks price scraping way back in 2015 or so.

Your aren’t anonymous as you have an IP address that can be traced back to you except you use a VPN and even that can be traced so be careful doing it on a naija company website. You may want to check their policy cyber and otherwise or make yourself completely anonymous online grin grin

The way I understand it is that if you make many requests on their servers (in tens of hundreds) in a short time that can happen cos u are straining them. The idea usually is if you can view it then you can scrape it. You are not doing anything different from a viewer, d scraping is on ur machine.
