Hello Doc
The last time i checked my IOP it was 12/12 that was 2 months ago. I checked it today and it read 18/18 the Doc said 18 is normal for a non glaucoma patient but for a glaucoma patient like me it is sub-normal. So she said i should continue using the Betaxolol and i was given an appointment till next year february she said if the pressure is still at 18 or above by the time she'll have to place me on another medication in order to lower the pressure.

I don't experience dry eyes anymore but i still see starburst which i complained about and she beamed a pen-like torch into my eyes and said my cornea is still ok.

and you were faithful in instilling the drops as recommended? Let's see what the next result would be like. Even if the pressures are within normal, over time, you ll need to do the visual field test and compare with the previous to check if there's progression of the disease.

I do apply it 7AM/8Am in the mrng and 6Pm in the evening. Though i do apply it late in the night these days at exactly 9PM. There was a night i didnt administer it until the next mrng and the reason is i had severe headache that evening i slept around 5pm until i woke up around 12 midnight but i applied it in the mrng. That was the first and last time i have skipped the evening dose but i have never skipped the mrng.

Ok sir.

I have been taking garlic for over a month now. I heard it's good for the health and they said it contains antioxidant. I hope it's not the reason why the pressure is high cause i injest garlic heavily these days. Garri gives me eye ache and headache too i don't know if there is connection between garri and IOP

Thanks for the good work you are doing here.

lolz garri and iop. Well, until there's a research to establish that but for now, there's no relationship between garri and iop. Same for the garlic. I ll advise you to put your mind at rest and ensure you keep to your doc's appointments

No sir. He's eyes are perfect with glasses.

Good Morning Dr.
Been a while, just felt i should update.
Its 5months now since he started using the glasses, my observation; the eyes no longer turn when the glasses is removed except when he has to look up/ farther distance, although, even at that, the turn isn't as bad as it used to be.
The last appointment was in Sept and the next one in January.

I am an Eye doctor, I discovered through clinical experience that most Patients don't really know about some basic things and problems affecting the eyesn and these has led to simple eye problems being seen as complicated and frightening to most patients and they don't really know how to go about it. There are some eye problems that are hereditary, which requires normal routine eye examinations but due to ignorance most patients tend to lose their sight to eye problems that could have been prevented. I want to use this opportunity to enlighten us and provide solutions to problems affecting the eyes,in line with WHO Vision 2020-Right to sight for all, so all questions concerning the eyes are welcomed
Good evening Doctor, I don't know what the problem is but sometimes I just start blinking continuously and then stop. It worsens if someone asks why I'm blinking so fast because I'd now focus on the blinking and it would take alot of time to take off my mind of it or to stop it.

it's probably motion sickness. I Do not think it has anything to do with your vision/eye health. Anyways , you could still schedule an eye exam to be sure.

well, eyelid twitching can be caused by stress or refractive error most times. You'll need to have an eye exam to rule out the presence of refractive error. If you take caffine, you should also reduce the intake too. A cold compress on the eyes could help when it twitches .

1. M3 muscarinic agent/agonist - Pilocarpine, carbachol, physostigmine etc
2. Prostaglandin agonist - latanoprost
3. Carbonic anhydride inhibitor/beta-blocker, alpha-2 agonist - reduce production of aqueous humor on ciliary bodies

Hello Doc,
Kindly advise please -
1) What is the cause of blurred vision usually after I've looked at my phone for a while.
2) Also, there are times I see a red vein-like mark on my eye and whenever this happens, i usually feel pain in that part of my eye and will even find it difficult to look at the sun. Although i think that this red thing comes possibly when i don't get enough sleep.
Thirdly sir, at what age is reading glasses usually recommended as I squint when i have to read and i've started squinting to fix thread in a needle.
Thank you

adressing questions 1 nd 3 you may be having a refractive error or might have attained presbyopic age ( 38yrs and above ) hence would be requiring glasses to help you . As regards quest 2, I can't really relate with what you are trying to describe . Having a visual of it would be helpful
