A friend came on Saturday Dec 19th .... no issues. It understandable that plans were already made before this suddenly last minute restriction

Ok, thanks but the latest tier 4 was introduced just after 4pm on Dec 19th to take effect from midnight. This is the reason I'm particularly keen on arrivals from Dec 20.

NO, it is just a mail to say a decision has been reached on your application. That's about it. The decision could be an approval or rejection which you wouldn't know until you get your passport. You just have to hope for the best.

As long as UK airport is open , a traveller is good to go. This not the first restriction or lockdown and it's always been fine. The rules regarding quarantine just need to be followed

Since its PBS, as long as u meet the requirements, you should be good to go. There's been like 95% positive, nor be me go join that small 5%

Note if u get a decision mail,what u should expect is pick up mail. If ur visa is rejected, u will get a rejection mail after a decision mail...

The rejection mail doesn't always arrive before pick up mail, it sometimes comes days after the applicant has picked up his/her passport.
