The class of 1966 destroyed Nigeria.. The Babangidas, the danjumas, the Obasanjos, the buharis, the Abachas.... That group is evil, full of vile, hatred and violence! Take them out of the equation and watch Nigeria start a slow movement towards progress! The biggest mistake we made this democratic term was to start with these same hoodlums again! Compare Obasanjo vs Yaradua.., then Buhari vs Jonathan! You can see the difference in style, compassion and motives... That class of 1966 woke up one morning and started killing their friends for power. They have managed to corner power with the help of foreign powers ever since but they absolutely can't do no good with power! Why? You can't give what you don't have...

Arguably S.A is better than Nigeria, but not if the foundation used in comparison was laid by Caucasian race, likewise some of Nigeria best areslike V.I, Ikoyi, and the G.R.A allover the place. Untill we know how or what S.A become in 60 years after Independence, we should hold our applaus for it's greatness over Nigeria.

From federal to state to local government, Nigeria is ruled by the worst of us, instead of the best of us. The best of us are in oil companies, banks or mostly abroad because they cannot cope with the madness of being ruled by illiterate incompetent buffoons. They'd rather go where things work.

Nigeria of today is unable to get BASIC things right. Traffic, security drainage, relatively basic infrastructure, roads. None of these things are rocket science. We are still talking of Benin Shagamu road, Lagos Ibadan, port Harcourt enugu, owerri onitsha. We are still talking of Apapa Road, we have no process for fixing pot goes in Lagos, for repairing drainage etc. We have no structure for policing and responding to citizens call. The whole system and country is just a MESS.

Best part of your write up.

Take what God has given you and develop it. Nigeria is not left behind and has actually potentially has attractive environment for tourism.

Abidjan is in the same climate/location as Lagos and is more livable and environmental friendly to live in than Lagos.

You cultivate you environment, develop your landscapes. This part of science is not taken seriously in Nigeria at all. We can't maintain grass in our stadiums talkless of within the cities. No environmental policies in place and no enforcements. Development is haphazard in this country.

I am of the opinion that the physical environment shapes thinking.

South Africa is where it is because of the long presence of white people...even though apartheid killed them, they benefitted a lot, especially in infrastructure....Just look at how their football league is well organized for starters

This is valid. I also wonder at times that perhaps our independence came too early. But still it's not an excuse for us going backwards. Are we all daft to do basic things? Estates in the South West that the white guys left for us are far better than any estate that we have done since then. Check Ikoyi and Agodi Gra Ibadan and old Bodija. Even with more modern technology, we can organise ourselves like we were under colonial rule.

ALL THE PROBLEM OF NIGERIA IS VERY SIMPLE

NIGERIA IS NEITHER A NATION NOR A COUNTRY

NIGERIA IS A COMPANY GOING BANKRUPT

Okay then. Then lets stop fucking around and get to it. These men are on their fucking last legs. After that, they're all gone. We can still make something out of this country if we are serious about it. India was a gigantic shithole not too long ago. Today, it has a bigger economy than that of its coloniser, and is expected to be a world power for years to come. Same with China. In fact China will probably take over the world at the rate they're going. If they played the blame game, would they be where they are? No!

The issue is how do we "get to it"? I always say Nigerias problems, as big as they are, can be fixed reasonably quickly with a leader with a clear vision and political will. Give me 20years and Nigeria will be far better than it is today.

But we are led by useless people and the system makes it almost IMPOSSIBLE for sensible people to assume leadership.

Julius Malema was not part of those who contributed to building the South Africa you see today. He contributed to the corruption problem South Africa is facing today. Part of some leaders in the country that believe state resources is their personal entitlement.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRXgfiCaogQ

You are not serious. You provided a video of Malema's one story 3-bedroom house being auction. The house is not even up to the level of the boy's quarters in the house of an average Nigerian politician. Compare it to the house of Dino Melaye. And his house 8s being auction for tax debt to the government. Go and try that with a Nigerian politician. Please find another example that fit. Malema is not corrupt as far as I know.

Even God cannot change Nigeria for the better. That’s why all the prayers for a better Nigeria has come to naught. It will come to a stage God will alight from his throne and bow down to the likes of Buhari, Tinubu and co. Let’s be watching.

Take it back.... if it requires force, then so be it. We are already approaching failed state status, so I guess it wont even be all too bad. We cannot continue like this for crying out loud. My grandparents complained about Nigeria, my parents are currently complaining, will I have to complain about the same issues after all this time? In the span of 60 years, other countries like Indonesia, India, China, and even Ghana have left us in the dust, while we can't even rise above stupid tribal sentiments to make a country we will ALL benefit from.

With some nigerians it doesn't matter how much money you throw at it, it comes out substandard.

It does not matter what happened in the past, brush it off and fix the country. Look at Botswana, Rwanda, Tanzania. No excuses.

They are constructive opposition who understands that Governance is about the people and nation at large. They are not moved by mere tribal affiliations but all they need is better and prosperous south Africa...

Their citizens first before others...

Can such be said of Nigeria where Invaders from Niger Republic, Benin republic, Togo and Chad including Mali are the ones running affairs of the country. All thanks to divided loyalty...

The president is not a nigeria same as most Governors drawn from north and western part of this their country called Nigeria.

Well, we remain proud and happy for our dear country Southern Africa as she will continue to move from strength to strength, no wonder it was referred to as the rainbow nation...

The country founded on solid principle by Mbeki, Mandela, Oliver and hosts of others...

separate Nigeria into 4 region for one year and witness miracle greater than Singapore

Re: Williams Uchemba South Africa Visit: Depressed Over State Of Nigeria by adexpa(m): 7:15pm On Dec 23, 2020
The problem of every retrogressing countries could be traced nowhere other than poor leadership(leaders with zero national interest)

To me, our problems began in Jan 15th, 1966 when young soldiers through unsuccessful coup truncated/disorganized the foundation of new Nigeria. The period when National interest and development should be the key activities, the period when one Nigeria should be the only driver of our common wealth, the period when developmental activities should be our priority. Nigeria divided right from 1966 and every year after became a nightmare, we began moving from unprepared/uneducated leaders who knew nothing about governance and national development ( military men that were never trained to govern became leaders for many years with individual and regional interest). The main guys who fought for independence never took any reasonable part in governance due to the effect of 1966 coup. Igbo/Hausa nation started right from 1966 and that has brought disintegration and not unity to Nigeria. Nations never grows with different voice. Nomatter the level of individual education and exposure, we must always end every conversation/debate with one voice. No nation was ever built in a day, the time when leaders suppose sat down and focus on how to develop the nation incrementally through our enormous natural endowment was when coup came in and all hope became shattered

Nigeria is gone already because the effects of poor leaders over time has seriously damaged many things including the so called future leaders, no one has national interest any longer.

White people built SA

Come with another line, the cities the white men built before leaving, how many were we able to maintain?

During the early 30's Sapele was booming and a major hot-spot for timber... After independence, everything crumbled.

Not until we tell ourselves the truth, we will keep running in circles.

Until we are able to win the battle against bad leadership and correct the foundation on which the country is built nothing would change.

The last Endsarz was a great move towards a meaningful change but it was greatly resisted by some elements in gvt.

So for now we shouldn't expect a thing to change.

Until we beat the gvt and people in gvt at their games... Na story like this we go begin dey hear till eternity
