qwertie1234:So i will Lie with my father's death and my own health? God how can somebody be this cynical? |

qwertie1234:I am not obsessed about them but Respect them. The topic created about Libido is not really a fact neither It is a lie just a slight sarcasm intended. God forbid I am obsessed about someone's profession and not his genuine success and his endeavours. |
| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by OyedejiIfedayo: 2:55pm On Dec 26, 2020 |
qwertie1234:Nice response sir. I so much appreciate your understanding and analysis. Apart from the matter of Mr Zeeknow of which I am trying to be indifferent I concur with your points. And I wish to use any ability I have in the future to limit the amount of medical error. I didn't directly mention the condition of the lady (niece) I mentioned earlier. It was related to PLEURAL EFFUSION, which I suppose needed draining of trapped fluid and passing of sterile talc powder to prevent more fluid from storing up, may also require certain therapy. So I didn't know why it took too long to diagnose pleural effusion, as I was told the doctors later admitted to the condition at the late hour. Well I am not trying to dig into anything. The daughter of this scienctist is half way through med school and other cousins are soon to be doctors. That's where I get some of my motivation from. Instead of blaming doctors he decided to train doctors (not compelling anyone) and support them reminding them of what they need to do and how delicate the profession is. |
| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by qwertie1234: 4:36pm On Dec 26, 2020 |
OyedejiIfedayo:u correct sir. massive pleural effusion indeed needed drainage..that is a major error on the doctors part.... the way the scientist handled the case was exceptional |

Zeeknow3245:no am not saying u lied with your father' death...am saying u may have misunderstood the cirmumstance related to his death.. and pls stop the insult |

qwertie1234:I didn't intend to insult you don't be offended. Take a look at what you said."if he is not tackled, people will think he is telling the truth". What does the statement signify bro? I am not here to discourage anybody from medicine. It is one of the best in the world infact I have been saved by a doctor and nearly killed by one but the harm done these days are alarming. I know of a guy in uniport who died of Leukaemia and he had been treated for malaria for 3years. Late Gani Fawehmi was being treated for Pneumonia for years and he died of cancer. The Lists are endless. You have done well by saying the right and somewhat fair things. Is it that the NMA are letting things slide? There's a hospital at the back of my house that gives "Nurse Elizas" TESTIMONIAL for completion of Nursing apprenticeship. Thank you for changing my opinion. No harm intended. |
| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by qwertie1234: 7:00pm On Dec 26, 2020 |
Zeeknow3245:NMA is trying but there is a limit to which they can go..the whole matter is very complex..you are right, some doctors truly involve in professional negligence but most times d gravity of d negligence as to be very great and obvious , it wil b far below the minimum care required for d patient and dat the negligence is the actual cause of death or very severe morbidity before u d patient( or relative) can win the case in court and dats how it is in most countries in d world except USA .. those nurse Eliza stuffs ehn, If not for politics and corruption the nursing council of Nigerian shud av long won the case for d stoppage of that auxillary stuff... |

Benji2018:the cutoff for this year as at the last time (yesterday) I enquired is 76%. If you are from catchment you are safe. |
| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Nobody: 3:52pm On Dec 27, 2020 |
Benji2018:it was initially thought to be 75, then there was another rumour of it being 79... But it was confirmed to be 76%. This was confirmed by a medicine course rep. Since you are from catchment, I think you are in. Nice scores. |

Good day Drs. Pls, is there any UI medic here that knows the POST UTME examination date |
| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by qwertie1234: 3:00pm On Dec 28, 2020 |
Amarachibaby:In my opinion, I may be wrong though, I think MLS is more competive for now in terms of gaining admision..and in terms of life after scul, MLS has more opportunities also, they can easily set up a private lab, but for radiography, setting up a private practice is not too easy cos those Xray, and CT and other of ther equipments are damm expensive, so they mainly rely on government work.. |
| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by qwertie1234: 3:03pm On Dec 28, 2020 |
Zeeknow3245:ya, no qwams |
| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by samuelpeters(m): 4:30pm On Dec 28, 2020 |
Amarachibaby:Okay. Well in terms of admission both are relatively competitive. That is, their cutoff mark isn't that much of a difference. Unlike what we see in Medicine/pharmacy vs others. In the Labour market, Radiography should be the better option because their graduates are scarce unlike MLS that their graduates are not everywhere yet, but is fast approaching saturation. Let me break it down here: In Government establishment, both are at the same Level and recognition. In private establishment, Radiographers earn higher BUT Radiography Labs are not easy to come across unlike Medical Laboratories. In private practice, MLS can easily set up a Lab especially the Microbiology and Heamatology/blood aspects because they are fairly cheap. But setting up Radiography Lab is not a walk in the park. In all, both are good with their advantage and disadvantage. So it depends on what you want.. |

Meanwhile, you can achieve anything in life if you want, don't just run a race because of anger, please. May God comfort and help you. Best wishes bro |
