Can you tell this forum how or when the descendants of Esau (Edom) decided to abandon their gods and joined the Jews in the worship of JEHOVAH?

Even the Northern ten tribes never succumb to the assertion of their own Southern brothers who said it's only in Jerusalem's Temple that people ought to worship, remember they were the children of the same Jacob (Israel) ! John 4:20. So when did Esau's pagan descendants came to override the real Jews to the extent of taken over the worship in the temple built by the Jews?

I know that after the conquest of Greece by the Romans, the Roman authorities began playing politics with Jewish selection of the Highpriest, the Pharisees were Levites who has the right to the Priesthood but the Sadducees (party followers of Herod) also formed a group and the Roman government have to choose whoever will favor their rulership as the Highpriest. So Annas who was the chief priest in Jesus' day was a Pharisee but Ciaphas who was the Highpriest that time belongs to the Sadducees. Yet all these people were Jews, that's why John could say "(Jesus) came to his own people but his own people rejected him" John 1:11
