Honestly, a lot of men do feel insecure around successful women. You will hear things like: "Oh, is it because of this your work/business that you're disrespecting me?"
To be fair, it takes special wisdom, diligence and maturity to balance work and and family (home keeping) responsibilities for women. I'm not excusing wives from their responsibilities though.

These days there is a bagillion things competing to take your life. It's hard enough upgrading your odeshi for them. Most men don't want to add a problem wife to that. That will just be the end.
