Is this legal? People are free to do whatever they wish as long as it is legal and does not infringe on other people's right. It may be immoral to some but not to others. The owners of the hotel should sue the government if they have all their documents up to date.

This is the reality of Nigeria today. When those that control the government value destruction more than construction, you need no one to tell you that gross poverty and underdevelopment will be the order of the day.

I'm of two minds about this

On the one hand, the governor has no right to demolish the hotel,. The hotel might not have known about what the organizers were up to, plus this is a secular society.....freedom of choice is one of the pillars. If people want to violate morals on the go, by all means let them....just so long as they don't force unwilling people into the thing.

On the other hand, Nigeria is a moral society. Even those bashing El Rufai would not like it if a group of people organized a 2000 person orgy in a hotel in a residential neighborhood.....like Barnawa too.

Plus under true federalism, states have the right to regulate morals as they see fit. How this conflicts with the goals of a secular society...is another matter.
