I was lucky

I could hav been struggling but I'm very lucky to be his son

A long journey from lagos to our hometown "gan gan" in the village. We drove all the way. Just the 2 of us...


I didn't enjoy the ride then, as we dont live together, also I was young dumb and spoilt by mum, I was grumpy all through, and don't understand why I gotta make the journey anyway...

He showed me everywhere, I mean everywhere...I was a celeb, everyone kept coming to greet me, I ate Amala with the chief of the town, infact I think everyone in that village is one big extended family... I had to feign sleep inside car before Dem leave me alone...

On the 3rd day I got feverish, and I got some bumps popping up everywhere on my body so we had to leave...

Now it's the most cherished 3 days of my life...

All kids should have both parents in their life growing up, especially a dad... If you a dad and reading this, kindly be in the life of your kid(s) it's massively important...

I think my favorite moment with my dad was when we traveled together from warri to ore alone. I was worried it would be boring cos he would be driving and I didn't know what we would talk about for like 3 hours. We bought food, he talked a lot about his past, gave advice and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. He has changed a lot since then tho.

Mine was on a certain day when I came home late still as a teen. He flogged me so hard dat day.immediately he finished with the beating he went to his clothe box and brought out a very nice clothe dat I ve always cherish. He said dat was the last day he would touch me and it was so.
