Good morning everyone!
Please does the below clause on the NSE requirements mean like a Block account like Germany’s or Edubond for Irish visa!

“ purchase and provide proof of a guaranteed investment certificate showing a minimum of $10,000 from a Canadian bank, which you cannot access until you reach Canada;”...

Yes, it’s the same idea. You send the money from your resident country and it’s kept in your name in Canada. You get a certificate which you’ll include in your study permit application. An initial lump sum is released when you arrive in Canada then the remainder of the funds is released monthly or bi-monthly over 10 to 12 months

Best wishes

Thanks for your response to my inquiry.

If I may add to it;

1.) Does getting this certificate of investment improve one’s chances of getting the visa?

2.) In the event that one acquires the certificate by making the deposit, can the person get this money back if the visa is not granted? If yes, how long will it take?

Hello house,
I am thankful for all the information and help given here. I have been reading the messages here and I am benefiting greatly. Thanks to everyone who take the time to answer questions and address concerns!

There is something bothering me about my study permit application that I have not completed yet. I applied for a credential evaluation and it was submitted to IRCC by WES (credential evaluation body) in 2020 , at the time I was considering express entry.
I never started the express entry application, because of low score. I am now accepted into a college in Canada ,NSCC. So I will be applying for Study visa.
Main question: Will my study permit application be affected negatively because IRCC has a credential evaluation for me, that I think is only required when trying to immigrate?
Does this show dual intent? Even though I created an express entry account but did not fill in details.
Thanks for your response.

1) it’s strengthens your POF because they’ll believe the money would surely be available for your use. If that’s what you mean by strengthen then yes. But getting a GIC does not mean you’ll surely get the visa, other factors will be considered as with every other application.

2) Yes, you’ll get it back after submitting your rejection letter to the financial institution. They take some money for processing charges, some take 200 cad. Return can take up to 4 weeks but it depends on many factors.

Cheers

Thanks. Should I add Credential evaluation to my documents/ make reference to it in my application for study permit? As proof that Masters education is equivalent to Canadian Masters since I already have it.

I don’t see how that adds anything positive to your study permit application. If you’re including your master’s in your application, your msc certificate and transcript(if you wish) is just fine. (My opinion)

Wow!!!

Thank you so much for this info...I really appreciate

You are welcome

Also you can check
PG. Cert & Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Accounting
https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/435#95257798

If you would be going for. a
PGD or a PG. Cert or a Post Baccalaureate Diploma

Just give reasons why (Genuine Reasons) and that would be done on your SOP, cos that's where a Visa Officer will see your reasons when you submit your Visa Application

Even if its an M.SC you are going, you need to explain aswell

The Gurus might be able to give you tips on that.

good morming,

i have a quick question.

If you have paid tuition of say 21,000 and have 29,000 available in your account, when filling your forms, would available fund be 21,000 + 29,000 or just the "29,000"?

thanks.

luckymama please come to my aid. I believe that you paid your tuition as well.

Happy New Year everyone

I got my letter of acceptance from Humber College since last month for September session. I haven't applied because I'm still depositing money into my account gradually so as not to make it look like a lump sum of money.
Is early or mid February not too late to apply for September session?

Your response will be appreciated.

Thank you.

After depositing the money and obtaining the GIC, do I also need to go ahead and provide my 6 months bank statement?
