I lost my ability to taste for 2wks (something that only happens whenever I burn my tongue with hot food).

My sister and kids bore the largest brunt during that period, all the food I cooked was given one report, ‘too salty' while the thing be like dust for my mouth.

Prevent that thing from coming into your system, I might have been lucky (or I never even had it) but what about others?
