I'm not a veteran but i can advise you a little based on my 6months Ehailing experience.

Take time to study how to use Google map .

Always say a prayer before you set out as early as 6am to target people going to work (except you stay on the island where Ehailing trips are guaranteed anytime of the day). Please, don't chauffeur more than 1passenger at night and don't stay out late all the time. Whatever you do till 8pm should be enough unless its festivity & public holidays.

Expect some verbal insults, silly gestures & mockery from girls your siblings age.
Expect Agbero & omo ita to accuse you allegedly of parking in their zone (Yaba, surulere, Ebutte metta, Oyingbo etc) Don't lose guard. Be vigilant at Mile 12, Eko bridge ( at night), Mile 2( at night). They Rob people off their possession in these axis.

Somolu, Yaba & Lagos island have many one way routes. Always ask your riders if they're acquainted with the road that leads to their destination, so you could use their help to navigate.

Don't beat the traffic on 3MB to link ikoyi-osborne bridge, Marina & Awolowo road, Lastma officials are always seated somewhere looking for who would fall victim. Don't beat traffic light & Stop signs too.

Notify your riders on your preferred mode of payment. If they offer you bank transfers, wait till you get your credit alert before they alight from your car or discharge their goods.

Eat well, drink a lot of water and have some orbitgums in your car. Don't listen to people who say spending 1000 naira is too much to feed yourself on a daily. Please, patronize pie Xpress at Chicken republic wink. They make sweet & cheap pies.

Sign up on the 3 Ehailing Apps ( Bolt, Uber & InDriver). It gives you options.

When you take a trip to the Airport' drop off zone', immediately your driver alight, drive far away from the airport or use the parking lot if you want a trip out. No go dey do suegbe for airport, dem go sama you billing like Eyinola grin

Don't forget 'Grooming', the way you look says alot about your hygiene. Learn to take a day off to relax, exercise and brainstorm on your next line of work. You can't drive Uber forever.

Your best bet as at now is 10-13k gross on weekdays and 12-20k on weekends.
Make sure you check this space at least once a week to read about Drivers experience. You can chip in your daily experience too and we would have a good laugh about it and give you koboko if you err.

Hope to read from you soon. wink

Guy since I know you in this thread this is like your best post ever.gringrin

But why must he had orbit gum... Pls throw more light.

I speak regarding that Honda evil spirit and not in general, like I pointed out about the guy that just gained engine problem from get go of buying a toks across water. On d 31st I pick a rider with his wife and they some wot make it clear to me, about going to buy a car, if I can help them to check, told them no, but I can call a mechanic around the area. The guy test drive four cars and it's just one problem or the other (Toks). I hope we can see this as an understanding chat and probably a room for me to learn.

Most Nigerians don't know about vehicles and we have this mindset mechanics are debious. Are they right? An average Nigerian is debious and anyone living in Lagos or Port Harcourt is expected not to have certain sluggishness or drag attitude in them, so need to check and balance on handling an average Nigerian seem important. On issues of using engine to 250k or 400k, most cars coming into Nigeria are almost DOA (most). Some have already done 280/300, Bishop and d geng will now fine tune it to 83k ( my father is watching them). Secondly, almost every new thing in this country outside cable wires are fake, courtesy of us going to China to demand for low quality as per the strength of our money. It is so bad that one is not sure of the beer or beverage one is consuming again as we have some folks producing these products in their sitting room, from mobile 1 to conventional mobile or any kind of oil moving the market is been refill somewhere in this country, conventional mobile practically dry up in cars now and if one does not carry out proper check before leaving home, that's how pearl1910 will b blowing reserve oil on 3rd mainland bridge to island grin So! in a nutshell, to maintain cars and trust the process in this country? it's either one is buying oil from Dru direct when its due for service or just forget about 100% accuracy, when it comes to taking care off cars with our local products.

As I can't tell d condition of the Honda presently I rest my case... But it won't b advisable to make a profit of 200k after 3 months and use 150k to solve problems, that is hustling backward. I know what my first car use my eyes to see, Just the door handle, I can't get it else where unless Ladipo, even with that "Go ask Obi, u don check Ugo place, if nah Toyota now, I get", the stress just doesn't worth it.

Please I'll like to know, do the vulcanizer's over there use fufu to fix tyre? Just wondering

Car business is a tough business to get into... Buyers need to do their due own diligence......

Gifting someone the acct doesn't make the act right or Nobel. It is a crime, whether he sells the acct or gifts it.

Felicity0001:

Let me help propectibe buyers with s9me verifiable information.

1. How old is this account?
2. How many times have this account been blocked b4?
3. When is your DL expiring?
4. What's your current balance?
5. How much are you selling?

Prospective buyers should consider these before striking a deal and also, understand that it's a 50:50 chance. You can start using account today and it get blocked the next day. So know your stake b4 you put your hard earn money. I understand the country is hard so people must find a way to stay afloat rather than steal to survive.

And Mr. Seller... Why not gift sb instead of selling? How much would the proceed improve you? Just asking for a friend oooh... No vex abeg

You bought the car at 635k.
More like tokunbo since the interior and exterior were clean and just installed a tokunbo engine.

infact it is my mantra... used by a woman is a turn off for me....
But some women maintain car even more than some men oooh... Another thing is, woman are like dummy... Onr way traffic. A woman's movement is like a straight line graph from point A to B so if you're lucky to have a seller which husband is good in maintenance then the car should be a good buy trust me, with low millage... But we men our waka na zig-zag. Man fit tell you say I dey go point A but in the end he has gone from A to Q, back to C, D till he runs of our pounts.

My first car was 9ja used and I bought it from a woman. Millage was 138,000miles this was a car that was shipped into 9ja in the yr 2011. Now I used d same car for 4yrs and sold out at above 300k miles.

Now look, plus oyinbo usage plus the lady 130kmiles. I used for 3yrs+ and sold out at about 280k+ miles. Body never visited panel beater's shop 4 once.

In a nutshell, not every women use car rough some are goo at maintenance.

You're right, but, sometimes we shiuld try consider the Nigeria factor before we condemn some things as fraud or crime.

To be honest with you, this country is more than difficult that even law abiding citizens will also have to look for a means to cut edges at some point. That's why some times I dont blame people for some act.

Coming back to the subject, look at a scenario where a guy is either on HP or rental, lets mot even consider his marital status now. Uber blocks his account unjustly (off course you know how nought those guus can be sometimes) and then the only hope he has was also ruined. Bolt blocks him for either high cancellation or low rating. Bearing in mind this young man is just in the middle of early stage of his contract with his partner. No magistrate or judge will slam the hammer of sentence on him because he opt for a means of survival because you can't open another account with any of these companies once they already have your data (DL) and you can't as well get a new DL because FRSC already have your biometrics. Think about if ehailing is the only source of livelihood for such person and then he's being cut out what do you expect him to do even at the detriment of his contract and responsibility

May we never find ourselves in a situation that we are only left to choose btw bad and wrong choice!!!
