Igengo:
Good day all and happy new year. Please I need some clarification. My wife, a nurse relocated to UK following the route of Tier2 Skilled worker and her employer paid for all the traveling processes with a 3months accommodation. In her CoS, it was ticked by employer to certify Maintenance
Now I am applying as a defendant, would I need proof of funds and also am I required to physically present the original copy of our marriage certificate? I am with the scanned copy and photocopy as she took the original along with her.

Thanks
Has her COS expired? Was dependent maintenance ticked yes also?
If the cos is still valid and dependent’s maintenance was ticked then u can use same cos to apply without providing POF.
However if the COS has expired, u need to show POF. Either u provide ur funds tht have stayed 90days or her employer writes a letter to cover u... ive forgotten what it’s called.

Ur documents including marriage certificate will only be submitted via embassy for ur visa. And they dnt ask for physical copy. What is submitted is scanned copy

Thanks for the swift response. Her CoS is still valid and dependent maintenance was ticked. Thanks about the clarification on the documents submission, so I do not need to show original copy of marriage cert when I go for Biometrics

I don’t know the test is free. My friend who visited Nigeria paid about 40k naira online @ncdc website before he boarded flight to Nigeria. After the payment he was given appointment to take the test at 54gene Lab Abeokuta.

Depends on your qualification and job profile. What do you do? If you can say a bit more about your career and skill set, I'm sure people in that field will be able to guide you.

You can check out the UK shortage occupation list as well.
Thanks so much. I will look it up just as you suggest.
I'm a hospital pharmacist with a MBA.

Wow... That's not a news he'd like to hear...
But thanks boss...

Isn't there a possibility that, they'd want to give him a visa though, considering the mother's age?
Because she's obviously now going to need a carer sooner than later, and what better carer than her own child‍♂️

A 27 years old is grown up man. He should be able to apply for visa with or without his mom. Is the guy working?
He can apply for visitor visa either to visit his mom or as a tourist. All he needs is right document to back his
application

Don’t misquote me man because I never said he won’t get it. All he needs to do is to look for how he can get the Visa.

I guess the mom is living in UK legally? He can apply for visitor visa to visit his mom in UK. His mom should send him IV letter. Let him support his application with his business and financial documents.

Majority of people on this forum don’t have any relatives in UK but they still able to get visas to visit UK. Your friend doesn’t really need his mom before he can visit UK.

My bad chief...
Is mum is in the UK legally
I'll let him know about your advice...
Is there any financial requirements or other things that he should meet that'd make him more likely to get a visa?
Thanks chair

Hello Nairalanders,

Please what is the best option to pay for UK Visa fees and IHS? I don't have a dollar card and there is a restriction on the naira card.

I will appreciate any help offered. Thank you

He will need to prove it that he has the financial means to cover the trip expenses. Show his bank statement for the last 6 months.

His mom can stated that she will cover feeding and accommodation expenses during this visit. This will help to reduce his trip expenses.

As long as the dependent's maintenance was ticked yes, whether the COS has expired or not,you do not need to show any proof of funds.
I know this 'cos my husband applied almost a year after I had my COS and he didn't submit any POF.

And your trust did not give you a letter for him? He just went with COS of 1 year old like that? pls confirm for the poster.

I second this, there is no need of POF so far maintenance was previously ticked. I applied for my dependent as well after 2 years of CoS issue. No letter required either.

Above all, I believe God's mercy and favour came into play....it all ended in praise!!!
