Nah eh! No qualms
This is so sophisticated

Aside universities courses
Other skill courses are very lucrative
E.g
1.) The Igbo (Eastern) Apprentice system
Is lucrative (those guys they hit am big from there)
2.) Learning a bombing Skill (doesn't even requires much time)
I'd advised he goes for the Igbo Apprenticeship, a university degree/diploma certificate could come aside just to fulfil righteousness as far as the country is involved..

P.S; OP's location matters most while talking about the apprenticeship of a thing..

[quote author=ejighikemeuwa post=98183736]please there's no lucrative course in Nigeria as it stands now until fulani get out of the way.
they don't allow the indigenous people of north to go to school, they put in them that western education is evil (boko haram), and that is their program for every indigenous people of Nigeria. That's why they rubbish professionalism in Nigeria.

That's why they made them self slave masters to our politicians all over the nation, so:

FULANI MUST GO

I studied architecture, u will be needing connections to hit big contracts after graduation, even when u have the funds, u will still need connections to get that desired contracts. Unlike pharmacy, with 500k to 1m, u can start up your own pharmacy & grow gradually. U don't even need to apply for jobs. Don't even contemplate it, go for pharmacy.

To excel in tech is not really about certificate though they're world class certificate like OSCP, and co but what's important is the application of your skills and portfolio.

First of all, what is your area of interest? Do what makes you happy and what you're passionate about it's not all about job opportunity. We've seen a good number of people who are not doing what they studied in the university.

I have seen someone who studied agricultural economics but today he's a radio presenter and he's doing fine, a lawyer by profession who is also a well known movie actor.

I wish you success in your educational career.

One doesn't post one's earnings in a public space? Besides, I fail to see how you knowing how much I earn will help. What you need to make your hope rise again is not my earnings because you are not likely to follow the career paths I am following. You will have completely different sets of opportunities and challenges, different from mine. I think it should be enough to tell you that if you embrace the business aspect of the profession, you should be able to make six figures monthly. But it won't be automatic.

BIGPREEQ:

Nah, I'm talking about yours and intermidate pharmacist you know of??
Re: Which Course Is More Lucrative To Study In Nigeria? by Nobody: 6:52pm On Jan 20, 2021
It is not a lie. It may not be exactly 33k but I have seen very ridiculous amounts in the medical field. Generally it is medics working at Federal hospitals, and in particular the ones in rural areas, who get very high salaries (special allowance for being in rural area applies I believe). Those in private clinics and some state hospitals don't get as much.

That is impossible. As a pharmacist who is intimately connected to the practice in Nigeria, even with the economic downturn I can boldly tell you that it is impossible. Pharmacists are literally sought out in Nigeria like you would look for snail in the forest in Harmattan. If you are a real pharmacist here I will literally get you job offers within 48 hours in Nigeria! Pharmacists are that scarce.

And only those working part time collect anything below 100k monthly.

U mean there is scarcity when 1000s of students graduates yearly

Re: Which Course Is More Lucrative To Study In Nigeria? by Nobody: 6:58pm On Jan 20, 2021
Yes. The entire population of Nigerian pharmacists physically practicing in Nigeria this instant is barely enough to service Lagos state. In total, Nigeria should have twenty-something thousand pharmacists.

“As recommended by the WHO, there should be one pharmacist to 2,000 persons of the total population. In Nigeria, as professionals, we are faced with about 50,000 people to one pharmacist”.

A worrisome percentage has moved and is increasingly moving abroad. Almost all the pharmacists employed by my private company in the last few years have relocated abroad. Mostly US and Canada. Most companies have to recruit pharmacists every single year.

You can go into master's in geology and it will turn around things for you if you're good.
There's a lecturer I know, studied civil engineering, master in geology he has so many contracts in construction works like testing for load bearing capacity of soil, soil aggregate etc, water manufacturing companies do contract him, also contracted in mining works, he's a consultant on his own too, plus lecturing job.
He's a Ghanaian lecturer, did his masters in university of Pretoria, South Africa but working in Ghana.
It will be more easier for you to go into geology since you studied Geography because there are relationship between the two you can build on.

Wow....thanks for this. That lecturer really did good for himself.
I will look into all you've said.
Thanks.

The lecturer is dead now, he died last two years. Very sad when I heard it. I heard he was sick, maybe due to overstress in his job.

There are more opportunities with Pharmacy than Architecture as far as Nigeria is concerned.

Those are one of the two wrongest jobs if the aim is to be gainfully employed.

But would have fitted if the aim was entrepreneurial, only that the country has a repugnant system.

What if the Microbiology starts giving you millions annually few years from now? Would you come back to tell us?

for the fact that I make my money legally, I can tell you that anytime any day, I can state the steps I took to make the amount I made today. I am not scared of anyone's success, so I am an open book, go to my IG page, @itz_orianna, you will see me promoting my friends and their hustles.. If I have a way of making money easily, I invite them, we cash in the one we can and then move on.

So to answer your question, if later in the future I start cashing out from microbiology, trust me I'd tell you before you even ask.. I am one who wants to have a long table to accommodate people than build walls to bar people.

Go for what you are passionate about.
I had similar issues when I wanted to go into higher institution, was battling between Medicine and Engineering. My love for sciences and especially Maths it's beyond this world which is a reflection in my O level result cos I made distinction in them and again I love things relating to health. Eventually I decided to chose Medicine as my first choice(UNILAG) wanted to put same as my 2nd choice... But my brother persuaded me to put Pharmacy(UNN) instead as 2nd choice which I was really reluctant to do because my thought was that the Chemist Man on my street then was a Pharmacist and and never wanted to be like him. I had a golden JAMB Score. UNILAG with all delays, my name came out in UNN Pharmacy. I decided to go for Pharmacy... But I was not relaxed cos I never wanted to be like that Chemist man on my street... I decided to borrow some medince course in addition to the esoteric Maths in my first year in a bid to change back to Medicine. On studying Pharmacy at my first year... My eyes opened that the Chemist man on my street was not a Pharmacist but a patent medicine dealer and I now saw a better side of Pharmacy. As a Pharmacist you can work in the hospital, Community Pharmacy, Industry, NAFDAC, research institute or be a Pharmacovigilance expert... Although I passed all my first year course including the borrowed course from medicine with very good grades that qualifies me to change... I totally lost interest in the Chang Course process in my 2nd year and i concentrated on Pharmacy... Now I know that that's what I am called to do.... I not only graduated with 5 Distinctions (First Class)... I went immediately to do a Masters in Pharmacy and today I am a Member of International Federation of Pharmacists, a Member of the Pharmaceuticals Society of Great Britain and a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria practising and creating impacts and part of the team bringing in innovative solutions through our partners in the USA, UK etc e. G like the Cure for Hepatitis C etc currently pioneering the Rx Online Pharmacy in Nigeria where with a click you can get your health and Pharma needs and medicines at the balm of your hand (www.rxonlinepharmacy.com.ng). If I am asked to chose a course in my next world I will chose PHARMACY again and again.
My advise is go for what you are passionate about and understand what the course entail from those already practising it will help you in making better decision.
All the best
