Ladies please nothing is wrong with watching Zeeworld, dont let misogynistic males guilt trip you into thinking it is foolish or useless, everyone has that one thing or things they do that give them joy and escape from life's troubles.

Boys are obsessed with football more than women are with Zeeworld, there are different stories of guys stabbing or killing their friends over misunderstandings concerning football.
Check it on google you will see, if they are not betting their futures away on football matches they are killing each other over football arguments.

It's addictive. But for me, I haven't watched in over a year. Although, I realized I was wasting 4 precious hours everyday, I couldn't stop. Once football season was over in 2019, I begged my husband to hold off subscribing to DSTV for one month. With that, I lost momentum and haven't watched since then. I really was wasting my life.

I was gonna support you but the bolded is just wrong man, really wrong. Like woundedlamb said, you don't shame someone's guilty pleasure all because you see yours to be superior. There are so many things wrong with that comment from the generalization to the casual superiority. For years, women have been told that what they view is of no importance to a man's view. On the generalization sphere, you are comparing all those who watch it to sissies and wimps and saying only people who watch the EPL are smart, I get that it hurts, hell, I don't even watch either except on a few ocassions, I can't remember the last time I watched TV because of most of it is heteronormative programming but the generalization is downright wrong. I know men who watches both, case point:my dad.... I didn't understand why and I also thought like you at first but as someone who's interested in the psychology grid, I found out he didn't have that much or even any love growing up and was using that channel to fill up that space and guess what, it played a part in mending our already shattered relationship, I will just sit with him to keep my eyes busy because I understand nothing and sometimes, believe me, it's annoying especially the bad acting and the part where the theme song plays for minutes before a character speaks or is it the generic plotline but that's family. We all have our guilty pleasure, some more embarrassing or more addictive than others but tolerance is key

My girl made me bought a big generator cos of that thing.

Telemundo is actually quite interesting, sometimes you wouldn't even notice they are acting. But you see that Zee world ewwww So DUMB.

I have asked her why these drowsy programmes always get her raved up but the silly girl has her dreamy face way too locked on to the screen to give a reasonable answer and I am surely gonna lose my cool any moment from now.
But... before then... I seek answers from kind and well-meaning Zeeworld aficionados and ladies out there.

Comparing zeeworld programmes or soaps to football is missing the point...

The real issue is that zeeworld soaps are badly made, they are mostly unbelievable and have very few entertaining or educational features.

There are much better Nja or proper African based programmes or soaps! Fancy making an Indian soap in South Africa and they all look so pristine and a far cry from real Indians.

I visited family in Nja and we hardly got NEPA electricity; we put on the generator in the evening so that we can enjoy TV, charge phones and use lights etc. But most of the 4hours or more is used to watch zeeworld - no need, no current affairs, Bollywood, English programmes and many of the channels that come with subscription is not used. Night after night - and guess what?

It was annoying and not good at all - nothing o can relate to in most of the programmes and the plot gets so twisted and up and down that it is hard to keep up.

Lastly, why is it the females that watch those programmes from zeeworld the most. Why women? Men also watch crap on TV but Zeeworld takes the cake. How can one have any intelligent or educational discussions with people that do not listen to the news or watch documentaries etc? The next thing they watch is the religious crap!!!

Some of my folks are weaning themselves of Zeeworld - good for them.

If this makes me sexist, so be it; I have no time for dross!
