Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has asked the new Commissioner of Police in Oyo, CP Ngozi Onadeko, to arrest and treat those igniting ethnic tension in the state as criminals.

Makinde said this on Friday when Onadeko paid him a courtesy visit at the Governor’s Office, Agodi, Secretariat, Ibadan.

He spoke against rising tension in the state by the ultimatum given by self-acclaimed leader of Yoruba freedom agitators, Sunday Igboho, to people of Fulani ethnic stock to vacate the Ibarapa area of the State.

Makinde said that attempt to fuel security tension under any guise that would threaten the corporate vision of Nigeria would not be tolerated by his administration.

He said that his government was not against any ethic group, but was determined to flushing out criminal elements anywhere in the state

.He stressed that the Hausa/Fulani ethnic group residing in the state was not his government’s target, but hoodlums, bandits, irrespective of their tribes and religion

For people stoking ethnic tension, they are criminals and once you get them they should be arrested and treated like common criminals.”

“For this administration, the major pillar for us is security because we know that all the good things we want to do economically won’t be possible in an atmosphere of chaos and insecurity.

“So, when people say things that are not lawful and within the spirit of Nigeria’s constitution, it is not acceptable here.

“And they cannot hide under being people protecting Yoruba interest to perpetrate chaos in the state,” he said in a veiled reference to the quit order on the Fulani issued by Igboho

Makinde reiterated that security remained one of the pillars of his administration, noting that all the good policies of his administration could not be actualised in an atmosphere of chaos and insecurity.

He promised to give maximum support to the Nigerian Police and other security agencies to ensure safety of lives, property and economic prosperity of the state

It will be unfortunate if this is reduced to a power tussle and supremacy contest between the Gov and Mr. Igboho.
At this moment, all grey areas should be ironed and all hands on deck to keep the marauders at bay.

Yorubas should rally round Mr. Igboho against the evil that may come his ways from within his tribesmen who see him as a threat now and who might not blink twice before sacrificing him and the entire Yoruba nation for their selfish political gains.

Btw, a female CP is rare to come by. Wishing her a smooth stay in Oyo.

While Sunday was at Igangan with lots of crowd with him..The police commissioner was at Agodi presenting an artwork to the Govornor..And you think the government is not supporting Sunday indirectly?..He was left alone to go there with nothing happening. There were security Men stationed at Igangan yet he wasn't arrested..He lives at soka and he walks freely..

The best way the government can do it is the way they have done it. condemn him in public, while giving him support in secret. If you know, you know

Those who eat from crumbles of oil money allocation will forever be comfortable with the status quo.

Its really a shame that the whole Amotekun noise is just a political higi haga. How can people be kidnapped in broad day light and those who fail to remit ransom killed and their body parts sold? I just hope the stories I have been reading concerning this issues are lies.

How come Amotekun has refused to work and when Sunday Igboho took it upon himself to act, you are threatening to deal with him?

Igboho should be called to a meeting, facts established before any action against any side.

Makinde is a disgrace to the entire Yoruba race. FFK and the other south west irritants won’t say anything about Makinde’s show of shame. The real betrayals among us are gradually showing their hands.

So my Yoruba brothers can actually act like this, when Nnamdi Kanu talks, they attack him because he is Igbo, but when a Yoruba man talks the same thing, they hail him, what is the difference between what Kanu is talking about the fulanis from what Sunday is talking about them? Hope our eyes are clearing now, attacks and midfielders are welcomed to bash me.

Yoruba level of hospitality is really getting out of hand, all stakeholders in Yoruba land must be unite to send this ingrate out of Yoruba land.

Lol, Makinde the house nigger going the extra mile just to prove to his loyalty to his masters.

Just imagine him telling police to arrest him and treat him like a criminal because he is fighting for his people's protection. Even Benue governor did his best to protect Gana despite how notorious he was.

Sunday Igboho should stand his ground, I can see he has some guts just like Nnamdi Kanu, let them arrest him so he can gain fame. Every tribe in Nigeria needs a freedom fighter.

Yoruba ronu o.
Una governors go sell una kpata kpata.
