Rerin:
Hello house, please can you advice if to apply for UK tourist visa now? Travel date to be stated in application will be early march though I can travel middle of the year when granted.
Note. I was issued visa before but couldn't go cos of covid.
Can I use stmnt of account dated middle Dec due to the several transactions I did late Dec which embassy might not understand.
I don't know anyone in UK. If I don't apply now it might take another 7months. I have all documents ready now.
Tourist visas are still been applied for.
As for ur bank statemnt, a statemnt that’s within one month of your biometrics day is safest... dnt go and use an old bank statement then ECO starts wondering if you are hiding something as you didn't present ur ‘current’ financial picture

Select temporary since your current leave is time-limited and not indefinite.

Hello House.please I'm here again. Thanks to those that take their time to answer all questions. I submitted my mum's 6 months visit visa application last week. Her passport is due to expire in May, please is that an automatic refusal. I checked visit visa requirements on gov website and it only stated that you need a passport with validity for your travel dates, hence why I used the passport like that. A friend is telling me now they may not grant her the visa because 6 months will fall after the expiry date of the passport. Please will this truly be an issue. My plan is for her to renew the passport before she comes here and hold both passports.

Please any idea about this

Good day Nairalanders,

Please I need your help.

I did the self upload option on the TLS website. I was not able to download the receipt of document upload. Honestly did not see a tab to download the receipt at the time and I have checked again and cannot find anything. Can anyone advise how I can get this?.

Thank you

When I self uploaded my documents, I didn't see anything like that.

Or are you talking about the receipts you get for purchasing TLS or UKVI services? If so, those were sent to my email via tls site.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by damilaare(m): 11:27pm On Jan 25, 2021
Yes, I did not see anything like "download evidence of document upload". But i heard i will need evidence of document upload (or receipt) that I will take to TLS for my biometric appointment.

No interviews. Only finger prints and digital picture taken at tls. The right documents submitted argue your case for you in your absence, if any further clarifications needed then one may be called on the phone.

When u upload all documents and are very sure u are not adding anything again, there’s a submit button at the end... go on click on it and it downloads the affirmation tht ur documents have been successfully uploaded. This will highlight everythin u hve submitted on one sheet showing the diff sections u uploaded under.
If it’s not this then i dnt know again.

I dnt like commenting on self employed people because for sometime now I hve seen differnt manner of assessment by the ECOs on these cases, what works for A might work for B and then C comes.. it wont work for C and vice versa

Self employed applications has no precise solution ... All you could do is to open a fresh bank account , assign a certain amount above 250k to be paid every month from your/any business account to your freshly opened account and ensure not using the account for any transaction other than your "monthly pay"... Not even a kobo must mistakenly drop into the account if that happens you must start afresh .....Do that for 7 months and you will thank God. Shalom.

You need a new passport. You do not have to stay in the hotel and make sure the hotel you are booking is confirmed.

You can call the hotel directly to find out the status of the your hotel reservation .

I don't get it! Why do you want to apply to come the UK this February as a tourist and budget under £900?

Am I missing something? Or do people join at like to give VISA money to the UK government?

Travelling is being discouraged for indigenes as well as foreigners and you want to come to the country at this time...

By the time you get here, you will need to budget extra for compulsory quarantine which they will choose for you and you will have to pay and show evidence before boarding.

If you are not in the UK to make money or work then you must be very rich, have a mega serious and professional job or business that ties you firmly to Nigeria; and even that, there is no guarantee they will not chop your money on flimsy excuses.

Relax! Whatever your motives are - just forget coming to UK or any Western countries as a tourist; for the next 4-6 months

she may be sent an email to provide a new passport. Her passport with them would be returned and after she renews, she would submit both passports (this happened to me in 2014 when I had a defaced passport. They sent me an email to do new passport and submit both old and new passport. The application was still denied sha OR she may be denied out rightly. The rule is to have 6months validity on your passport, not valdity of your passport to your travel dates.

Please stop giving false information. UK is not discouraging travels. If they were, their embassies would not accept tourist visa applications just like for all the Scheghen countries and tourist visas are still be issued in large numbers. My sister got issued a 6month tourist visa on Friday.

Your sister will have applied many months back but I am talking about present times.

I shall still maintain that only someone that does not really care about losing VISA money that will apply next month.

A lot of people in the country want the border shut to only essential travel. The covid test was not even there 1 month ago and now you have a possible mandatory hotel quarantine being discussed.

British people cannot even book for holidays and these are people that do not really need VISAs

And you want to encourage someone with £900 budget to apply for a 6 months tourist visa for next month.

I told him to hang fire but I actually think he will be rejected anyways unless he has a good sponsor and good ties to Nja.

What tourism is there to do when the country is in various degrees of lockdown and the hospitality and travel industry are being thrown under the bus?

Get real!
