I wouldn't advise him telling you the name of his company on a public forum. CBN has banned Naira remittance and what stops me from doing one single transaction with him and getting his Naira remittance account and reporting same to CBN to flag that BVN? Even Transferwise got banned for late compliance!

______________________________________________
@Tobexin I also think coming here on this platform to advertise your trade isn't ideal (it's not primarily a business driven forum with business minded people so abundance of caution is the default response and besides, your business is in the 'grey' area). If simple currency 'barter' like is done here, then no qualms (you may want to consider having multiple bank accounts). While I appreciate your business ideals on KYC/AML, unfortunately, you need to be registered with the iCO as an organisation to process peoples records (exemptions apply). Now you can't register with the iCO as you can't legally be a director under new Tier-4 policy. If you work for an 'establishment' then you need to be certain of the ffg:
- How are clients/ monies received – personal or business account?
- Is my organisation registered with the iCO?
- Is your business registered with the FCA (not authorised assuming turnover monthly is </= €2 million)?
- Do I work 20 hours max each week (reflected on your payslip)?

My definition of an establishment is a registered entity on companies house (with 66110 or 66190 as one of its objects).

Lastly, with regards to rate, c'mon 638! That's not fair na. As at yesterday, bulk sellers were asking for 652! Even with that, arbitrage will still give you 5-6 Naira differential. You want to chop a whopping 19-25 Naira per £. Guy, fear God o.

A company which can demand for my photo ID. BRP. Passport. Personal Identification documents etc... yet you will not advise an employee (or owner) of that company to come clean?

Bros Chukwuka, the second part of your post makes some sense. The first part? Nahhhhh

I second you, however why people are upset/worried is because
(1) he asked for sensitive ID
(2) he is a student and people were worried.
(3) he flared up. It was unnecessary.

I need advice, I am married with two kids, I have HND with over right years of work experience in Supply chain management. The schools are not willing to offer me MSc because I don't have a BSc but one of the schools offered me a top up degree of two years after which I can proceed on for my MSc.
My question is, would I be issued a VISA for an undergraduate program as a married man ?
I want to close out the Admission this week so I can pay the fees and wait for CAS.

Please I need your honest advise.

You will be issued visa but your dependants won't be getting dependant visas.

Check other schools because with this admission you cant bring your wife and kids. If you dont mind them not moving with you then ok

What you left out:
1. The course you studied for the HND

2. The course(s) you would like to pursue in the UK.

Those 2 would go a long way in shaping the kind of responses you will get from folks here.

Use shell companies in cayman Islands... Lol

It will be extremely difficult if not impossible to get an agency or end client that will accept the use of offshore shell companies.

The umbrella companies that have such arrangements have all been blacklisted and you won't find them amongst the approved/preferred list of umbrella companies for most agencies.

No he didn't request for BRP na. He actually requested for an ID showing name for consistency purposes. irrespective though 'any' ID would do if all details excepting name is blanked. Thats just for normal AML/KYC. If CBN's policy wasn't in play he could have made available the company's name here (I'm guessing).

I know business registered with the FCA still involved in GBP/Naira transactions but I can't put them up on this platform or even tell people about them because it's obvious that they were set up for 'other' purposes.

It's not like he has a 'consulting' firm and is putting up his dets for job requests. His feesback as alluded to by a poster may have pissed off people - Learning curves.

Yep, the response made the difference. He must have learnt something and hopefully will react better next time. It's all learning and adjustments and more learning.

Indeed, people and companies still transfer money!

Sorry if this post derails from the purposes of this thread. Anyone got better ideas of how to transfer money to Nigeria? I tried using Azimo to transfer into my USD domiciliary account(GTBank) as that is the only option available on their platform and for over 24hours now, the transaction is yet to reflect in my account despite Azimo claiming the transfer has been completed. Really frustrating tbh!!!

Good evening all. Pls I'm a little bit confused. I have UK student visa and my kids have Brazilian passport which I know is Visa free to the UK for 6 months. I have not entered UK at all with the student visa but I intend to next week. Is it possible to take my kids along with me using their Brazilian passport or i have to enter first, get my BRP before I can pick them? Pls note, they r minors and they don't intend to live in the UK for now. I just want them to spend like 2 months with me before taking them back to Nigeria. Cc Justwise, LagosismyHome. Thanks.

Hello everyone, pls for those who have done HCPC, what happens if one is unable to pay the scrutiny fee within the specified period.
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by chrisj2(m): 7:05pm On Jan 27, 2021
If you can manage without the children for now, you will be better off getting to the UK as soon as possible before it gets too hard to come to the UK.

You should note that you might even have to stay in a forced hotel quarantine for 10 days at your expense. For the family, that is a lot of money!

Just for sale of two months jolly with the kids, you might be better off concentrating on being a student

However, if money is not an issue and you are able to book the flights without restrictions for the kids, then good luck. Normal times, it should be ok but Pandemic and coming from Nja adds a different dimension.

All the folks I know paid the scrutiny fee within allocated time limits.

I believe you could shoot an email to HCPC, and ask them to give you more time maybe that would sort it?

I have two answers:

1). Yes you can come with the kids since Brazil is visa free for 6 months and you have a right to enter the UK (the student visa).

2). Why would you take two kids (not even 1) to start school? Do you know how stressful induction and initial classes are? Besides these kids will be stuck in the same room with you, screaming or playing while you’re meant to be studying or doing induction trainings. Isn’t it more sensible to wait for school to calm down a bit before you bring them?

Hello if you were to choose between living in manchester or bristol, which would you pick For a family of 3?

Which would be better to raise my kids
Affordable housing
Less expensive food.
Good weather
Easy commute

Ps, I would be the only one working for now.

poster is a mum, one can also sense she is genuinely seeking help.. she even stated in her post that ‘she is a bit confused’ (let’s not be harsh with our replies. Shalom!)
Again. .. maybe it’s an attachment thing and she just wants to see her children for sometime since they won’t be staying with her in the Uk during the time of her study, perhaps she also needs family support at such a time.. it could be tough...

@ shallypop, you can bring your kids along with you if you need their support or need them to have a little time with mummy.

However do keep in mind the effect this will have on you and your studies..and settling in also.. and then find out your options with airlines and they going back as unaccompanied minors.
U won’t have to go back with them if you choose this option.
Different airlines have their different policies with age restrictions and all that but this service is top notch and stressless for them. Google unaccompanied minors for each airline you might want to use for them and check the policy.

When they land in Nigeria, they will also only be handed over by the airline to whosoever you have designated as their pick up person. Only this person. Goodluck

It is called tough love! No one is being harsh! People are just being realistic and not sugar coating things...

I am sorry I don't understand the confusion at all. She was s leaving her kids one way or the kids other. It is best to have at get on with it.

Some of us were left by parents in those days when there was no mobile phone. We coped alright.

The cost is just mind boggling and the hassle as a mother and student?

The poster did not say why she wanted the children in the UK for just 2 months.

This section is about Living in the UK as a migrant... It should be realistic!

*You cannot go advising people without taking into consideration the pandemic... Assisted travelling at this time ke? That option is not easy and we do not know the ages of the kids.

However, I guess one the kids might be an infant... I sympathise!
