This is bad news. It appears these Fulanis truly believe Yorubas can't courageously defend themselves. Why this wicked provocation and destruction? Why do they pushing us and will later around to cry victims. You will never hear the likes of Yerima condemn this.

Fulani supporters of APC are the most wicked, unrepentant, crime-hardened vagabonds with no iota of forgiveness or retreating, know this and know peace. To be sincere since there had been confrontation in ibarapa axis and the seriki house was burnt with other damages the only solution now is for Fulani to leave any attempt by coercion or persuasion for them to co-exist with ibarapa people will only spell doom just a matter of time..Precedence has shown it's only a matter of time they will unleash mayhem

The government might decide to allow them in other parts of Oyo but ibarapa axis should be mapped for no Fulani zone maka adi amama O gwara O.

You spoke wisely and I admire your courage.

However, given the history of the Fulani within this geographical space called "Nigeria" I hope that you understand the animosity directed toward your tribe. I do not think it unreasonable or excessive.

The Federal Government as led by the current administration is best suited to solve this problem but as you can see, they do not want to. Which leads me to believe that there are undertones to this.

Perhaps to destabilize SW Nigeria and limit Tinubu's influence in his quest for more power come 2023? Perhaps to gradually edge out the host communities and eventually takeover SW lands?
Perhaps to forment enough crisis to the point where everyone will cry for a solution and then the govt will introduce grazing corridors?

Whatever scenario is dictating the events we see unfolding, it will not end well for all involving. The events that we see have the propensity to lead to a full blown crisis, a Civil war of sorts. Once people start arming themselves and taking law into their own hands, you can kiss Nigeria goodbye because it will be the beginning of the end, the start of a very slippery slope.
maidstone:
" DR. NURA ALKALI (a Fulani and a consultant physician at ABU teaching hospital, Nigeria) wrote the following:

How ironic that, today, it is the Fulani who lack leaders to guide them and pursue their interests through legal ways. Please, do’n’t mention “Miyetti Allah”, which is a cattle-breeders’ association. I have never owned a cow in my life, and I don’t intend to, meaning I have no business with Miyetti Allah. (“Mi Yetti Allah” means “I thank God” in Fulfulde. I’m referring to the group here, not the literal meaning).

Miyetti Allah claims to represent the Cattle Fulani who live as nomads. That is their opinion. In my opinion, it is the blind leading the blind. Only the blind will insist on living a 17th century life in 2018. 50 years ago, humans conquered space to land on the moon. Others decoded DNA, which advanced the science of animal breeding to levels never before imagined in history. But we still have people pursuing an impossible nomadic lifestyle to raise cattle.

Please, when you travel from Bauchi to Yola, look on both sides of the road during your journey. All you will see are farmlands up to the horizon. The few vacant spots are the rocky hills around the Gombe-Adamawa border, and between Dindima and Kangere, near Bauchi. Farmers avoid them because plants won’t grow there, meaning cattle too cannot graze. And no doubt, beyond the horizon are villages and more farmlands.

Keep in mind that Adamawa and Bauchi are among Nigeria’s largest states. Toro LGA in Bauchi State (6,932 Sq. Km) is larger than each SE state except Enugu (7,161 Sq. Km). The whole of Ebonyi State (5,533 Sq. Km) – which welcomes the proposed cattle ranches – boasts of only 80% of the land area of Toro LGA. And Ebonyi is now in the news for a deadly fight over farmlands with a community in neighbouring Cross-River State. So, is a cattle ranch more viable in Toro or in Ebonyi?

It is northern states that have land for cattle ranches, which by their nature, have enough grass and water all year round – thus removing the need for a herdsman from Jigawa or Sokoto journeying to Ebonyi and Delta states in the dry season in search of pasture. So, why a cattle ranch in Ebonyi, unless Igbos also want to raise cattle? This is what I’m talking about. Beside being blind, Miyetti Allah also thrives on conflicts.

In any case, Town Fulanis like me are in limbo. “Tabital Pulaaku” is solely about Fulani culture, unlike “Afenifere” and “Eze Ndi Igbo” that champion Yoruba and Igbo causes. For the Fulanis, neither the Sultan of Sokoto (who heads JNI) nor the Lamido of Adamawa (who heads Tabital Pulaaku) is an overall Fulani leader; nor indeed, any group.

Sadly, a group of riff-raffs called Miyetti Allah are now mistaken as Fulani leaders."

Initially the Fulani ruling elites insisted that herdsmen must have access to lands everywhere and rights to forage on any lands. With campaigns by Fulani elites like Nura Alkali, the Federal Government and Miyetti Allah became converted and began the search for cattle colonies and Fulani Villages all over Nigeria.

The problems of herdsmen destroying other people's farm lands, crops and the crimes committed in raping, kidnapping, robbing and killing can only be solved by the Federal Government. It should allow the Nigerian Police to enforce Open Grazing Prohibition Laws passed by affected states and assist the northern states to build Rugas for herdsmen and encourage them to ranch their cattle in the Rugas. Cattle farming is a business as other livestock farming. But with a one sided sympathy for the Fulani herdsmen, the Federal Government is undermining the unity of the country.

@Risenphoenix1, hope you can see why it would be very difficult for oyo indigenes to stop ethnic profiling fulanis

No, I really cannot see any justification for ethnic profiling. I'm all for arresting and prosecuting those involved since they are known according to the story. In fact, it was my farm, I would have been well within my right to carry arms and defend my land against anyone who tries to enter and burn it. I'm even a supporter of the death penalty for certain crimes. But all that will still not stop me from greeting the next Fulani man I met; who had nothing to do with it, and buying cow milk from him. I don't understand collective profiling and collective punishment or blaming one man for the sins of another. I dislike injustice of any sort.

If I'm going to hate the tribe and race of every single person who I've had bad experiences with, I would be all alone in this world.

Oh No! Yoruba land has finally been conquered by the Bororo Fulanis.

History has repeated itself. Afonja sold the breadth and length of Kwara over a plate of Tuwo Shinkafa mixed with Ewedu to Alimi, the Fulani, now Tinubu has sold Yorubas to Fulanis for his presidential ambition.

Hmmm.........truly, like father like son.

Yoruba land has become a conquered territory!

While Afonjas were busy doing Owambe, the Fulanis were strategizing.

An Onitsha, Anambra State based rights group, Intersociety has said not less than 350 Igbo communities are currently occupied by state backed Jihadist Fulani herdsmen and Shuwa Arabs.

The group which made the claim in a report released in Thursday, said jihadist occupation is vicariously, if not directly aided by the Government of Nigeria and its security agencies especially the Army and the Police.

According to it, “By the combined accounts of the Association of the Eastern Town Unions, the Alaigbo Dev Foundation and the Eastern Outlook Newspaper, “as at August 2019, 139 Igbo communities, villages and locations have been occupied by Fulani Herdsmen, out of which Enugu State has the highest number with 56, followed by Anambra with 24, Imo 17, Ebonyi 12 and Abia seven. In Igbo areas of Delta and Rivers, there are 15 in Delta and nine in Rivers”.

State Backed Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen And Shuwa Arabs Now Occupy 350 Igbo Communities And Villages

Special Report: 27th May 2020

Intersociety, Onitsha, Eastern Nigeria

There are not less than 350 Igbo communities, villages and other locations now invaded and permanently occupied by the Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen and ‘imported’ Shuwa Arabs, also called ‘Cowmen’ in Arabic. The number of Igbo communities forcibly occupied by the Jihadists has recorded exponential increase from about 139 in August 2019 to alarming 350 in May 2020. The jihadist occupation is vicariously, if not directly aided by the Government of Nigeria and its security agencies especially the Army and the Police. By the combined accounts of the Association of the Eastern Town Unions, the Alaigbo Dev Foundation and the Eastern Outlook Newspaper, “as at August 2019, 139 Igbo communities, villages and locations have been occupied by Fulani Herdsmen, out of which Enugu State has the highest number with 56, followed by Anambra with 24, Imo 17, Ebonyi 12 and Abia seven. In Igbo areas of Delta and Rivers, there are 15 in Delta and nine in Rivers”.

But in our recent detailed review and update, the number has exponentially increased from 139 in August 2019 to not less than 350 in May 2020, out of which 318 were factually located and presented below while 38 others were added as ‘dark figures’ or “factually existing but not captured figures”. The ’32 added dark figures’ are likely to be found in Imo and Ebonyi States, with a fraction in Enugu State. The breakdown of the current figure of 350 invaded and occupied Igbo Communities show that Enugu State has the largest number with 72 communities, followed by Anambra with 70, Imo 61, Abia 43, Ebonyi 36, Igbo Delta 21 and Igbo Rivers 15; totaling 318 and 350 when added with a ‘dark figure’ of 32.

The geographical and geopolitical implication of this is that the Jihadist Herdsmen have roughly invaded and violently occupied two States in Igbo Land. This is on account of the fact that Enugu and Anambra State have total of 368 autonomous communities; with 187 in Enugu and 181 in Anambra, as against 350 of them already occupied by the Jihadist Herdsmen. In grand summary, while most of these 350 Igbo communities, villages and other locations have been invaded and violently occupied, some are already under attacks or on a verge of invasion and violent occupation.

I don't know why Afonjas are very stupid...(some of them ahaaa) Why do you console yourself with an unverified fact? I am on working assignment currently, you can hardly see traces of herdmen in Igbo land now. You should know that no Fulani herder in his right senses will go into bush in Igbo land. Those that attacked Ebonyi and Enugu came from other states, not in the forest in Igbo land. You should know how sour the relationship is.

Afonja, don't deceive yourself by quoting an article from a blogger who is looking for traffic. Deal with your problem and stop looking elsewhere for consolations.
