Within days people have started losing jobs in the us, ending travel ban is just for sentiments, if you were an American, do you think a country like Nigeria deserves to have travel ban lifted, for every 10 people that go there from here, hundreds are going there to cause havoc, sirry, thousands.

I dont care about how his leadership affects americans or if he is a good president for America, what I care about is his foreign policy towards Nigeria and I am satisfied that even if he will be a bad president Nigeria as a nation will be positively affected by his changes.

Into how many countries will we divide.

This isn't 1960, even now, everyone wants to be strong and independent.

Plus, all this concentraiton on resuorces is why we are underdeveloped. You want splititng up because you think you will benefift from more oil money, which you will use to import. Thopse who oppose splitting up do so for the same reason.

As for me, Nigeria is the best option of all the bad options we have. And if we want to progress, we have to wake up to the fact that we are nopt rich, and that we have to work our way to riches.

Then we can split up however we want.

Everyone is blessed in their own way. Remove oil and let those who have it enjoy it. Those who dont have it will work with the ones they have. Some countries make billions from tourism alone. Some make billions from service managements. There are countless of resources across Nigeria. The current system encourages laziness and there is nothing we can do about it becus tribalims comes first.

And saying that tribalism should end is a waste of time becus even in the most developed continents and countries, racism has not ended. Humans will always be selfish and there is nothing u can do about that.

Europeans understood this and that was why they gave massive room for self determination.

It is also on record that Nations develop better than states. States are heterogenous while nations are homogeneous. The few states in Europe, what they did was run a system that grant the nations within these states great length of freedom to manage core issues such as police, resource control, airport, etc. Whites have sense. Na black man mumu pass for this life.

Na why the black countries remain extremely poor. And guess what? They will continue to be extremely poor and keep running to white man's countries. The same white men who had sense and organized a system that worked for them.

Abeg, there are a lot of ineffiencies and injustice in the US system, yet the US police has enough funding to do what it needs to do...most of the time...solve crime.

Here in Nigeria, it is even a wonder the Police works with the budget it gets. One billion dollars to police 200 million people, when some cities in the USA get five times that to police 20 million people or less.

That's why we have to accept some hard facts...either we find the money to adequately fund our police, or we keep our police the way it is...poor and cash strapped.

The problem with Nigeria is that we think that because we are an oil rich naiton we must be rich. Yes, we have oil...but what we earn from that oil cannot sustain 20 million people, talkless 200million.

And the problem I have with restructing is that at the end of the day, it is a call to go back to how things were in the 1960's when we had 3 rtegions and everyone had 'enough'. Well, we did not have enough, and agriculture and mining cannot sustain us adequately...all the countries that rely on the same in Africa also take loans...more than we do self.

RESTRUCTURING is that all regions should work for its own prosperity.

There are states in Nigeria that wants to move forward but the dysfunctional federal system is working against it.

States in Nigeria wants to run their own police system but the federal government is fighting against the process.

There are many other oppressive system in Nigeria

What you see is what we get for the amount of money we have.

As for me, I am not satified, and I am ready to make the hard changes we need to get the police we want.

Nigeria is poor because from independnece we think that the road to development involves selling raw materials and importing stuff that is higher in value than what we export.

Restructiring is just a means of arguing over how we share that revenue from our exporting stuff.

Another thing, we think we deserve a free lunch...which is why we have issues in our power and petroleum sector because we think we should sell things below the profit of what we earn.

Plus , on the matter of state police....how will states fund the police when the overall tax to gdp ratio in this country is very very low? When the price of the raw materials we sell is not controlled by us...it is controlled outside?

At the end of the day, we need to restructure our economy before we restructrure politically, or else there would be war over control of resources.

You may be right but Nigeria is still an important ally to the USA is combatting terrorism in westAfrica. can you imagine what would happen if Boko haram took control of the country or if They even managed to take over the Northeast and establish a caliphate like ISIS did in Iraq/Syria

Nigeria armed forces is ranked the fourth strongest military in Africa and we are the largest economy, if Jihadists took over the country it would destabilize the entire continent

So, you expect a police force that gets 1 billion dollars to police 200 million poeple to perform like the polcie force that gets ten billion dollars to police 60 million people?(the UK to give an example.).?

Yes, my making the comment i made does not exculde corruption, so let's get rid of that strawman you put up. Infact, corruption in Nigeria is making a bad situation worse.

This is not a joke. Nigeria is a poor country, and the extoriton and so on you see is a result of our poverty. (Mismangement and corruption are just fruits of the main tree so to speak).

And we are poor because our economic policy is basically sell raw materials, and import stuff in value more than what we export. Plus, we don't even control the price of what we are selling. And when the price falls...take loans to make up the deficit.

Meanwhile, keep tax rates low.And keep corruption high.

The budget for the Police is 449 billion naira...or to be serious , less than 1 billion dollars. Meanwhile New York city spends ten times that for its police.

You cannot feed a child of yours one slice of bread in the morning, and one bottle of coke at night and expect that child to score 100% in his or her school exams.

Good, then let's stop complaining about how bad the police is, because we aren't rich to fund them adequately.

What we pay for is what we get. We cannot get a Ferrari at the cost of a second hand bicycle. We cannot expect the NPF to be like the NYPD at a cost far less than what the NYPD spends in a year.

And yes, before you start....I don't like the way things are. But if we want a better Nigerian polcie force, either we raise our tax to gdp ratio from the 5.8% it is now, to 35% and above..so that we can get enough money to fund the police, or we, as I have said earlier....accept the police force we have right now, and stop complaining.

It is not, "I may be right".
It is, "I am right".

Any nation- the US, Russia, China, etc, openly giving Nigerian Security forces arms and ammunition especially at the backdrop of a globally-lauded protests against the Human Rights record of its police and army, is insensitive and is essentially spitting on the efforts and blood of Nigerian youths.
I am sure the US knows this, hence they decorated it as a "donation".
It is still arms given to a nation with a deplorable Human Rights record. Those guns and bullets will be used on Nigerian Youths.

What was the reason again which Obama gave for blocking arms sale to Nigeria during GEJ time? Let me help you: He cited the Leahy Law. The Leahy Laws or Leahy amendments are U.S. human rights laws that prohibit the U.S. Department of State and Department of Defense from providing military assistance to foreign security force units that violate human rights with impunity.

This Law is still in existence.
Anyway, you guys can continue to deceive yourselves. Me, I wont.
