A high percentage have 2:2 and Ontario have more colleges than any other province..other province have more universities for 2:1 and first class student..
God abeg ooo..come through for your pikin..
I am opened to anywhere..I wouldn’t mind any province that offers business management
awys:

This is a very good and excellent Analysis I had always thought about the concentration of one region to apply to it's affects the chances too and also the quotas of visas too you are very right about this when I came to this thread and found out almost everyone is going to Ontario but let's still wait for the GCMS Notes!!!

Let the GCMS notes come out, let's see if career progression is one of the issues.

Maybe give 3rd reapplication a shot.

Hello Everyone,
Thank you to everyone who has contributed on this thread. I'm new near and I have gone through the thread from part 10 till now. Too much info here. Pls I need guidance as I intend to begin my own application journey.
1. I graduated in 2019 and finished service in 2020. I don't have a job yet and my parents' house does not have deed or survey. Just receipt. How do I prove strong home ties to the VO?

2. Can anybody suggest what schools I can apply to with my BSc in chemistry pls. From reading here i know I can't get masters since I finished with 2.2 so any related pg diploma course and school idea will do.
I've not seen anybody comment on this that's why I'm asking pls.

Hi All,

Does anyone know how to go about the judicial review process? Got a rejection on my second application on the basis of financial status and personal assets (This did not even come up in my first application). I used an MBS along with additional investments in USD and NGN above above and beyond the required amounts with clear explanations (table of contents, summary financial table based on available funds etc)

Gurus in the house...please advise

CC: Frankrobbin, Justmellow, Lekkiboboe

Hello Oghogho1313,

Sorry to hear you got delayed. JR goes in 3 stages: Settlement, Application Record and Hearing. Depending on the law firm, a good law firm in places like Toronto may charge up to $4,000 CAD for settlement, $3,000 CAD for Application Record and $2,000 for Hearing.

How deos the process work?

The immigration lawyer prepares a strong case and approach the counsel for a out-of-court settlement. If it is accepted by the counsel, the case don't go for a Hearing nor the Application Record where the judge reviews the case and either grant a leave or dismissal.

If the settlement deal was accepted by counsel, you get to pay the immigration lawyer only $4,000 CAD or as the charge may be. If an impasse wasn't reached during the settlement stage, it moves to Hearing. As mentioned before, when the judge grants a leave during the Application Record stage, it moves to Hearing. You are required to pay rhe immigration lawyer at every stage, though it depends on the billing policy of the law firm.

Some of this lawyers are quacks. So ensure you make adequate findings before making any commitment. The Hearing stage is the final stage where the judge makes a final decision. If a positive decision is given, the judge orders the IRCC to reopen the case and in turn, passed to a different officer to reassessed.

The settlement stage could take between 1 - 4 weeks. The Application record and hearing could drag between 6 - 9 months, but some cases may be lucky to be concluded in 3 months.

Once the application is reopened by the VO, it could take between 1 - 3 months to get approved or rejected. In most cases, it always get approved as long as it scaled through the Hearing stage.

Though in some unprecedented situation, the process could tarry.

I think you should follow @GCMSWriters on Twitter. They freely advise prospective Canadian applicants.

BTW, I don't think you should seek for a JR. Try giving it a shot one more time and if the story doesn't change, then you can seek for one.

Before anything, Ensure you get your notes.

Best of Luck

The right direction could be any direction. It's better to do some research (as you claim to have done) and ask specific questions. PhD is not the same across Canada and across all disciplines. What works for Anatomy won't work for History. What obtains at UAlberta won't necessarily apply to UCalgary, despite being in the same province. No one can give a wild card overview of PhD programs and their admission processes in one post smiley.

So I'll return the question to you: what direction do you want to be pointed to? If you can help us, I'm certain we'd help you very well.
Indeed you are right. So let me say I am more concerned about what it really takes. From all my research getting accepted by a professor is based on how well the professor thinks I may be of impact in his work.
So I am looking at a PhD in biochemistry, university of Manitoba.
It is clearly stated I have to be accepted by a processor before proceeding to fill the application form.
I want to know if I am able to get a supervisor is that a sure guarantee of getting admission and if yes does that mean the visa application is just a straight forward process. All the schools I am looking at do not require IELTS, would I be able to process visa even if I don't write IELTS
These are only. Few of my concerns.
