Genesis 10:8-10
8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.
10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

Nimrod built the first anti-God empire on the earth

And till this day babel stood aghast of the Mighty Act of the LORD, of how He has scattered his strength from within

This thread is showing the trajectory of Babylon. Now, whether it is ancient Babylon or Modern Babylon, it does not matter, this is the template for the rise and fall of Babylon.

Genesis 11:1-9

Genesis 11:1-2
1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

The whole world was united and rallied behind a common objective. When people speak in one language, it means that they are completely united. A diverse set of people united in a single course are said to be speaking in one language, and of one speech. They had a common purpose and were powered by the same ideology.

2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

The ‘east’ is the cradle of civilisation, it was where ‘life’ began. Shinar is said to be ancient Mesopotamia. Babylon is the place where men first had the idea to try to rival God, they were led in rebellion by King Nimrod
Re: The Tower Of Babel by MrPresident1: 3:03pm On Jul 15, 2017
Genesis 11:3-4

3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.

The idea came into their mind to try to build. The brick and stone were people. The proponents or chief builders of the tower went about actively convincing and recruiting people into their agenda

4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

They wanted to build a city and a tower whose top may reach heaven, this is coded language. They wanted to build semblance, a similitude of God’s kingdom where God rules, but in this case, they did not want to build for God, they wanted to build for themselves, to make a name for themselves. Their intentions was to build an anti-God empire, a city to rival God’s plan. They wanted to have the view of the earth from their tower, they wanted to rule the world.
Re: The Tower Of Babel by MrPresident1: 3:09pm On Jul 15, 2017
Genesis 11:5-6

5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

The LORD came to observe what they were building.

6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

They had a common ideology, they were united and focused; they spoke a single language and were of one speech. They wanted to build a city, they wanted to build a tower to reach up to heaven, they wanted to establish themselves as God. And they were making good progress in their construction. They could not be stopped. No one could stop them, except God.
Re: The Tower Of Babel by MrPresident1: 1:15am On Jul 16, 2017
The Tower of Babel was the first attempt at forming a world government, a rebellion against God led by King Nimrod, the mighty hunter before the LORD who hunted the souls of men.
Re: The Tower Of Babel by MrPresident1: 9:16pm On Jul 16, 2017
Genesis 11:7
7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

God confounded their ideology, he removed the ‘enabling gum’, the one that was binding them together, their unifying ideology became corrupted.
The heavens started planning on how to confuse their language so that they would no longer understand each other’s speech. The ideology that was binding Babylon together will be corrupted and confounded.

As it was in the beginning, it is now, and ever shall be. There no new thing under the sun
Re: The Tower Of Babel by MrPresident1: 1:39pm On Jul 17, 2017
Genesis 11:8
8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

God confounded the designs of their heart, they could no longer understand each other, the ideology that binding them was destroyed, they could no longer build their tower and city. The masons could no longer understand the welders, the bricklayers could no longer understand the carpenter, between the plumber and the electrician one was speaking classical Greek while the other was speaking classical Latin. They had to let off building, they could no longer communicate, so they could not continue building. The central language or speech was destroyed.

The ‘Binder’ was taken away.

He that was letting, was taken away.
Re: The Tower Of Babel by MrPresident1: 1:41pm On Jul 17, 2017
Genesis 11:9

9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

The name of the place is called Babel, a babble, confusion. The LORD confounded the language of all the earth, and scattered everybody.

Jeremiah 50:24

24 I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the Lord.
Re: The Tower Of Babel by MrPresident1: 6:01pm On Jul 18, 2017
He strove against His God in great wickedness.

Isaiah 14:4-5
4 That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!
5 The Lord hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.

Your power is broken! The LORD has declared your judgment! You are finished!

Jeremiah 50:35-36
35 A sword is upon the Chaldeans, saith the Lord, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men.
36 A sword is upon the liars; and they shall dote: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.

A sword is upon you thou habitation of wickedness, the LORD hath discovered thy skirt to the world

Lamentations 4:21-22
21 Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked.
22 The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover thy sins.

I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.
