If yes, can my sponsor transfer the money to my account if he would prefer not to tender his bank statement? And what’s the minimum balance that should be available before submission? Please I need your input. Thanks in anticipation.

No, same statement of "your application is received and under assessment..." was displayed throughout.
During my own application however, I received both text and email when the application was transferred from VFS to the embassy and when it was collected again by VFS after approval. She didn't receive any text messages at all though she paid for it. She was only sent an email after the approval that her application had been processed and passport collected by VFS.

No. I'm already in SA.

Was there any 14 days quarantine you did?
Because I'm working on my honeymoon in March 29th after wedding 27th. If I apply next week Tuesday how long do you think I will get reply because I need this information quickly so that I can work on alternatives like Mauritius.

I submitted my application since 30th of Oct, and the status on the tracker still reads.

"Application has been forwarded for processing to "The South Africa High Commission, Lagos" on 30/10/2020"

Its a critical skill visa. Probably I should send them an email.

Anyone can sponsor you (a letter will be written by the person) but transferring a lumpsum to your account may not be good for your application. The embassy is usually suspicious of such transactions and may deny you visa.

Your best bet is Critical Skills Visa.

A have a friend that applied for SA visa in 2018/19 (can't remember for sure). After 7months of trying hard to get response, he had to withdraw his application (now if you withdraw your application, the passport is collectable within 72hrs).

Who does that? The embassy can return passports within 72hrs if the user forfeits the entire funds expended on the application but won't deal the application in months.

If there is a legal, moral and acceptable way to fast-track your application, I'd suggest you take it seriously else you might have to wait for so long that you'd recall your passport.

Both Lagos and Abuja have embassies so it's basically the same thing

Kamdan Sir. You application normally may take 6 to 8weeks so no cause for concern yet.

Please get yourself a comfortable, armed rest chair. You have no cause to worry yet Sir. Unless....when is your visit scheduled please?
