Please I have 2 questions. First, I can't find in the thread if one would need to prove experience in the claimed profession. Is experience needed? Secondly, my Master's Degree is in Economics but years of experience in Accounting. Since Account in is very competitive in Australia, can I apply as an Economist (don't have any prove of experience as an Economist)?. Thanks |

Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Mcslize: 11:32am On Feb 15, 2021 |
moscow30: None for now. That's because some of the states haven't open their route yet. NSW, Victoria and Queensland states will surely open nomination for Chemist. Just wait till they open. Is that what you studied or your occupation is highly related to Chemist? |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by moscow30: 1:22pm On Feb 15, 2021 |
Mcslize: Thanks very much for the response. I studied chemistry, I have done my VETESSES assessment since 2017 but I don't know if it has expired, I lost impetus for the journey due to some challenges. Right now I am preparing for the English language exams |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Mcslize: 2:16pm On Feb 15, 2021 |
moscow30: I think it has expired. Assessment is usually valid for 3 years. 2017-2021 should be more than 3yrs now depending on the month you took the exam. Do know Chemist is a level 1 skill in the skill select. If you have experience, is your experience more closely related to the role of a Chemist? You might want to also consider Chemistry technician as another relevant option. Cuz that might be less competitive as it's level 2 in the skill select. If you studied chemistry, and your experience is related to lab, I think you will get ITA faster as a Chemistry technician than Chemist. You might look into the two closely to see which your experience most closely fit. |

Thank you very much for your response, I have never thought of considering a chemistry Technician. Does that mean I have to do a new VETESSESS assessment? since I have that of Chemist. Thanks for your response Mcslize: |

Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Mcslize: 3:46pm On Feb 16, 2021 |
moscow30: If you got positive assessment for Chemist in your previous assessment with VETESSESS, then just go on and re assess as Chemist as your previous assessment has expired. It's going to be easier for you as you've already had first hand knowledge of what it takes to get positive assessment for Chemist. What matters is getting a positive assessment and having good English scores. Simply assess as a Chemist and you are good to go. |

jstemmanex:If you don’t have experience as an Economist, you can’t assess for such occupation as Vetassess requires at least 1 year experience in nominated occupation. Your job descriptions must be that of an Economist role to get a positive assessment |

Mcslize: Hey Boss, could you be kind enough to notify us when provinces will open up thier nomination program......I will be on the lookout too. Thanks |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Mcslize: 3:10pm On Feb 23, 2021 |
jabberjawz: Always check your occupation on anzscosearch. com for State eligibility for your preferred visa type. If the state is opened for your occupation, it will show green mark beside the visa option. So, you just have to be checking from time to time. But for now, majority of states are not yet opened for offshore applicants with the exception of those whose occupation are on the Graduate Occupation List.

Mcslize: Ok thanks Boss...... just like Oliver twist....one more quick question if you don't mind...... how easy is it to get a job outside aussie....with employers willing to relocate one? Cos I see most jobs are restricted to aussie nationals & others with aussie working authorization.... |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Mcslize: 9:52pm On Feb 23, 2021 |
jabberjawz: It is 99% impossible for those outside Australia. Most employers don't sponsor work permit visa for applicants outside the country cuz before employers give you job, they will ask of your status. |

Natural and Physical Science Professionals nec Applicants should include a cover letter that justifies the rationale for choosing an nec category. Does anyone have an idea of how to write this cover letter so one could nominate himself in the occupation category listed above? I am a Material scientist with 5years of working experience. |
