Some people's salary is not up to 30k yet they are doing it hoping for better one to come.

I believe you are the wicked one here for trying to make him look bad.

Here is my reason:
If Mr Richard said pay me #160,000k one time payment and I give you a #80,000k job, will you call him wicked or look for the money ?
Instead he said pay me monthly installment and you are here calling him wicked.
In this Buhari regime that even government employment is for sale. Obviously Mr Richard is no Santa but that doesn't make him wicked
Oga are you sure you are not like Mr Richard or even the Mr Richard?

I'm surprised that a good number of folks here are calling u names simply bcs you exposed the intended extortion of Mr Rich-hard.

Rich-hard's ploy is to make you work for four months, get his off-cuts, device a means with the manager and sack you so they can engage another client. The manager of that hotel may be involved.

The device they might use against you are:
1. You're not looking good. Since 40k will not sustain U for a 5star hotel standard, they'd ask you to stand by after months.
2. You are begging customers for tips. They'll watch out for U to see if U obtain tips from customers, even if others are doing it.
They'll use either exercise these plots to get U d gate.

My point is, take a risk

Sign the agreement but ask him how sure is he about the salary.

My reasons are JOB is hard to get now.
secondly

a lots of people pay some token of money before they secure a job some even after payment they got fake appointment
before you got this job how much are you earning a month
if you ain't working before what business do you do
OK to me yours is nothing because one you are even sure you will see the salary and its from the salary that you will give him okay its left for you some people are working and also get 20k 30k as their monthly salary
I saw a comment saying never settle for less indeed never settle for less
but remember its for month you can agree to the terms and still look for a better job
but remember its nor your relation company or organization
think twice

Nigeria is the most religious country in Africa if not even in the entire world but our wicked cannot be compared to the sin of the devil. The white people that some people see as godless people have the fear of God and working conscience in them. For instance, my first job outside Nigeria was gotten for me by a white man without demanding for a dime. And when I need to move on, I got another lucrative job through a white man that is a recruiter. He did not say that I am going to tip him before he will give me the job. And most religious people in Nigeria think they are serving God better than these white people. Smh

I will take it, as long as the agreement did not stipulate that you must be there for the full four months.

Check to ensure that, the 40k will be enough to cover your additional experiences; if yes....use the job as a stepping stone and don’t give up in looking for a better opportunity.

[ I would advice u as a brother, think deeply about this, pray also ,ask God to help you.
I have worked In hospitality before,a five star hotel on Victoria Island close to American Embassy. It opened a lot of doors for me and foreign connections to powerful people.

Take the job,do not stay idle, don't look at Mr Richard actions, manage ur salary and take it as a sacrifice for a better life,u will meet important people and make connections. It will help u.

Always pray for favor, every morning before u leave for work.very important.

Then go there and give them your best every day.You never know who is watching you.

That Richard is very wicked, forget about what other people are saying here defending him,let God be the judge.
I wish you success.Take care.uthor=XshegzzyeeiX post=99507596]I seek job opportunities endlessly, and was glad when Mr. Richard told me he has a job for me via one of his connects. I was so glad.

Concluding the phone call, he told me to report to his office by 2PM today if I'm cool with the agreement.

Op please do well to beg him for reductions but alas wetin man go do, take d job o since you no mk mention of anoda job
. What if the organization sack him after three months? And the man will look for another employee and sign another four months agreement of 50% from his salary? Mind you this maybe a plan stuff between the man and the company. I don't trust anyone nowadays, they maybe 419 people. They may be sacking people every three months or four months and they will be collecting 50% from new worker every four months. My advice he should forget that job if he doesn't want to labour in vain because they sack him before four months.

Friend, let's understand that these agents are being paid by the companies they are recruiting for. They have certain percentage that they take from the employees' salaries. So, if Mr Richard is collecting from the employees again, he is a bad man. Besides, 50% for four months is too much if at all he needs to bill a job seeker.

Better think well.. These man will use you just like those recruitment agency.. After the 4 months is compete, they might give u a little breathing space, then cause problems for you that forces you to leave (resignation or sack) then they start the process all over again...Either way the ball's in ur court.. It is not corruption if the job is genuine, but you might question the morality of Mr. Richard, but on that point, you might be right or wrong.

Great you mentioned your first job outside Nigeria and Jobs through recruiters. In the western countries e.g. US and UK, this is how recruiters and independent contractors work...they look for a job of e.g. $25.00/hr and pay you $15.00/hr...the rest is their profit and it is legal. The recruitment business works on this model and many individuals who want to run recruitment independent business on the side do it.......Mr. Richard gave the full disclosure and most likely this is his legitimate job i.e. connecting people with jobs, you do not expect him to do it for free.

I think the problem here is the average Nigerian mindset, which beliefs that we can get connections for free....you have to pay monthly fees to sign up on some job sites and you are not even guaranteed a job, you pay to get linkedin premium service to get access to connections and network of people that may link you to your next opportunity.

The bitter truth is, it cost money to make money.....now that the OP has rejected the offer, he has gone from making 50% to 0% monthly, I do not know anyone who will tell you that, that was a wise decision given the fact that he did not have any alternative job at hand.
