Why The Sudden Shift In Igbo Consciousness? by melodyogonna(m): 12:27am On Mar 06, 2021
I have observed, there seems to be a shift on Igbos on every social media platform these days.

Seems like most are shaking off the psychological effects of the civil war and years of constant stigma, and rising to their feets. People are speaking more boldly, more and more people are now owning our identity.

Who/ what do we thank for this mental shift?

If you're looking for someone to thank, you can thank me, or thank MNK, or thank NOI, or Abaribe.

Bros, any problem of the mind can be solved by simple resolution.

No biggie.

I think you had left so many more people behind, you should also thank Nnamdi Azikiwe, AguIyi Ironsi, Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu etc. Ojukwu too, Nnamdi Kanu, Okonjo Iweala is great, Chinua Achebe, in fact many Igbos had made sacrifices for the reality we are seeing today and now no one dare to stop us, we will dominate now with reckless abandon becuase when we had no intention dominate They labelled us, Forget Biafra or another country, Nnamdi Kanu and everyone else understands that it is a pay back time

I saw your other thread about how we won't give up any inch of land, beautiful piece that. Though it made me wonder if anyone ever thought we would do otherwise ...

Yeah noticed that as well....not just Igbo's but other tribes including the middele belt and Hausa's have all woken up as well...
There is a paradigm shift right now..
And people are getting emancipated from long years of mental slavery..
Long may this continue

At this point I want Nigeria intact, we got some pay back to do and Breaking away won't do justice to millions of Igbos dead, Nigeria must pay. From the way Nnamdi kanu is going, I'm beginning to think he is up to some revenge mission and he is better off with his Robin hood style in Nigeria

Ikr? There is still the common endgame ofcourse, but like Pharaoh and Egypt Vs Israel some would rather die than see it happen. I see those getting something they never imagined possible

Please lets stay and finish this game, I see Kanu security, being the biggest and the most reliable spanning large expanses, soon other countries will hire ESN, Kanu could be more relevant in Nigeria than he could be in Biafra, and Biafra is not feasible becuase me I don't really want to share a country with non Igbos

Just reminding you of Nigeria's history. What's wrong with that?

I’m beginning to think they are foreign agents, not Igbos, example AlexBells.

Nigeria is too diverse to be progressive. 3 large ethnic groups resenting each other is not a recipe for success, no matter what high hopes you have. There are things that make a nation, Nigeria don't have them.

Secondly, ESN is a threat to Nigeria's sovereignty, it'd rather burn than allow it become what's on your mind, and it's going to burn I assure you, if current trends continue.

Good observation... There are a combination of factors.... MNK, the promotion of our culture internationally... We still have a lot of selling point and a lot to do to promote the culture... I remember when Igbo mansion trended, some chronic Igbo deniers also came out to claim Igbo just to share some of the glory... We need to promote all the good aspect aggressively and defend our people aggressively as well.

The mental shift seems to be in large part to Nnamdi Kanu. Though a host of too many other factors are involved ...

About promoting ourselves, the noise will soon become too loud for a lot of people to handle. Promotion, advertising and marketing seems to be an inherent trait in every Igbo person

What side did your father fight? I shall rejoice if your father and your ethnicity will ever take on entire Nigeria in a mere dance contest not to talk of war.

Hope you know that yours were defeated with the help of your brother known as Afonja. Since then, Kogi and Kwara are now under the mercy of Fulani.

All thanks to MNK who made the Igbo's understand that they are descendants of warriors and fighters who doesn't backs down, rather than descendant of cowards and wailers who will quickly ran away from their fathers land bcs of mere fulani bandits
