Climbing the career ladder demands the embodiment and utilization of more masculine traits than feminine traits. Only very few women can do this without sacrificing their feminity. 2 Likes |

it has nothing to do with gender, only the personality matters l have worked for both and seen that it's their attitude towards work that makes them different both male and female can be harsh and strict depending on what their ethics are based on 3 Likes |

I have worked with a terrible female boss, and I have also worked with a terrible male boss. Having said that, I still 100% prefer every experience I had with the male boss over the female boss. As in, I would definitely pick the former (male boss) all day every single day & twice on workdays, over the latter (female boss)... It's that serious and I'm not exaggerating. The truth is that no matter how terrible a male boss can be, it is still nothing compared to having a terrible female boss. Women will pour all their PMS, menstruation, and ovulation-induced emotional disorders on you, especially when they know you report to them. God help you if she is the kind of boss that grew attracted to you, but you don't feel the same way about her or give her any special attention... Your own don worse be that That was the situation that transpired between me and one of my boss from hell that year... a married young woman with kids for that matter, yet I don't know what she was looking for in my body that made her to always seek for issues where there were none and even going as far as firing or querying any female staff that got close to me. Madness... 15 Likes 2 Shares |

Male boss is better.. All the female bosses I've worked with all my life are nothing good to write home about, they usually believe u wanna ride them and by so doing they're always on the defensive!... Male bosses are not the best either, but they tend to be straightforward with what they want, they scold u as at when due and don't often bring their emotions into work unlike their female counterparts.. All in all we should all strive to be our own boss! 4 Likes |

Reading everyone's comment i decided to drop mine. Anyday I will go for a female boss. Have worked with a male boss and female boss before I became my own boss. But I preferred my female boss. No.1 she was more like a mother to me. Back then when we still dey struggle I was very nasty. I committed so many atrocities that most male bosses wont tolerate. I kept eating d woman's money and anytime I she finds out and apologizes she let's go. Omo I commit for that office that year oh! But because she understood d value of what i was doing for her she just left me make I dey do my thing. She was deliberate i know. She had a very special interest in me. She would scold me though but i always had my way. Later i resigned cos i got a better job offer and my boss was a guy. Omo na den I know d difference. D idiot will even be calling me in d midnight to get stuffs done. I will work 7 days a week. Despite my impact in d organization. An organization I single handedly grew from scratch d idiot male boss will still be telling me that he is a business man and he is not satisfied. He wants more even if it means I should kill myself. I had no social life again. I was forced to resign. Had another male boss he was an angel very good man who understand me and knew what I was capable of doing and one day he called me and said be the CEO do all you need to get done to get us to a level he stated. More responsibilities same salary and even d salary was not even consistent. At that time it dawned on me that I was just building someone's dream. I pulled out again and started doing my stuffs. And d rest is history. Today i run 2 start ups. To cut d long story short. On a personal ground I prefer a female boss. Based on my experience I always have my way putting dem on high jump. Female bosses are always very easy to manipulate if you understand them and can play d politics. Nuffsaid 4 Likes |

Sterope: Men are actually subjective, way more subjective than women. If you see WhatsApp chats of my colleagues complaining of my boss, sometimes they just dismiss his attitude or even try to blame it on his wife (she is probably not giving him peace). I bet if a woman does a tenth of what my boss does, or say the things he says- omo, them for done create like 10 threads for her matter and blame it on her vagina. That is why I don’t take shit from my interns, before I used to walk on eggshells, lest they will say “female boss”. They almost wan put hand for my eye. They will be in the official group where I am and be exchanging words, no fear o, something they can NEVER try with my boss. It was even a guy that told me to clip their wings fast before I become the subordinate. I immediately changed tactics and under 1 week they reported to my boss that I hate them. I was just laughing 5 Likes |

It depends. In my experience working and undertaking research, I've worked with both Male and female superiors/supervisors. I've had a Male Superior, who practically related with me as he would his younger brother. I've also worked with Male Supervisors that are detached and only formal. I've worked under the supervision of Female superiors who are kind, personable and even willing to hand you the 'pilot role' once a while! And I've also had my share of experience working with the harsh and irritable ladies. A particular one comes to mind; I had reasons to believe she easily transfers her aggression (borne out of perhaps, bad experiences with men - maybe her husband) on us (the Male folk subordinates). But in all, I think the main dig is You - the subordinate. How do you approach your boss and the work (your duties)? Different subordinates under one same superior would usually have different experiences while working in the same space and time together. So, to whom the boss is friendlier would depend largely on the attitude, personality and input/results they produced. BTW, I'm what you can easily describe as a boss too. And my employees bear different testimonies of me! I know because I interact with them individually and collectively... One would say " Oga na nice guy, but he nor dey joke with him money "! Another would say "He own too much abeg. Every time na so so grammar... E fit dabaru person brain with oyinbo sef"! So, it depends... 4 Likes |

This is not sentiment playing in my head I have worked for both. Believe me Male Boss is far better and understanding than the female Boss. The female Boss is too authoritative, arrogant, she doesn't even want to listen. At any sight. of Authority like this Femal boss will Boss you GBAM THANK YOU 4 Likes |
