Thanks bro!

I learnt the granite has been delivered. I didn’t get to see it but the bill I got from the suppliers association and the omo onile’s already gave me ideas of what to expect.

Let’s do one more tomorrow.

Your delivery, thanks for patronage

It’s well!

What the suppliers wanted to sell me is 1/4 of this @ N130k

There’s nothing wrong with us in this country. We are our problem.

Yes it can last if it done right, big difference when the bill land on your table. I’ll let oga sypde r880 explain
there is no how precast will last longer. Precast is to save cost and join the parapet crew. If one can't afford the casting on the building, they should just leave parapets.

what what's the advantage or disadvantage between the two , seems to me the precast may not last or strong
It is strong and it lasts but not as strong as cast in-situ, neither does it lasts like that of cast in situ.

U can achieve unspeakable designs with precast that you cannot do with the on-build cast! too much waste of wood etc

not really, if you come to the west all they have is Precast. If you want mind-blowing designs precast is the way to go.

There are different opinion to this , if someone can afford to build a house worth over 50 million; I can assure you he or she can afford a parapet on it if they choose to . Some people choose to go for precast for different reasons, it give opportunity for different amazing design one can achieve with precast, secondly other opinion consider additional weight to the building due to the terrain.

Egun, explain to who? how it can be used? I hope is not your baba Lati sha ooo, probably he never seen one like that before lol.

1) I explained to the seller because he wanted to know. My assumption is that he should know what he’s selling.

2) I don’t supply nor try to upgrade my baba Latis anymore because it always ends in hot tears. Unless they specifically ask.

The weight, knowing some Nigeria artisans and taking shortcuts, is my concern.

But then we don’t really see reports if in situ parapet failures. I hope I’m not wrong sha.

I am taking about how I did the one in my house
Oga all those parts you mentioned are they manufactured in Nigeria? I mean, the rollers, frame, and glass?

Go to mushin n aluminum village n see how all this will be done for you. Yes, the roller is imported but frames n glass are done here in Nigeria toughened, tempered n frosted.

Just like I said earlier, only sauna, Jacuzzi or complete shower cubicle hot bath are coupled in Nigeria.
Give me money and I will produce same item in the photo you shared here in a week with my aluminum guys, it's just the frosting pattern that might take time to achieve.

Unfortunately I’m not close to my system. It’s done here and all the accessories are available in mushin.

I’ll try get you some samples from my installer. He did the frameless glass partition in my former office in 2014

Let me quickly drop this. I believe architects in the house can figure the rest.

What do you mean by the “frames n glasses are done here in Nigeria?” My question was are they manufactured by an aluminum and glass company in Nigeria?

This country is too hard
So because you didn't buy from that area
The suppliers association in that area will charge you. Lol
Lol
Also Lagos has consistently been fucking up over this omonile issue.
Because those omonile will still vote for them

Money that doesn't go to the govt. Pocket or even the development of the community

but I see failures in most building with precast parapet angry it's not about the design. What you cast together with you building is different from what was attached, it's clear to the eyes the one that will last long.

When we were using NextHome dump truck, they told me it can’t deliver sand to my site.

I wasn’t surprised though. Lagos is a state filled with educated illiterates.

They said what I brought is even bigger than trailer so I have to pay double.
I really don’t mind so far I have what’s required to execute my job.

grin grin

To the naked eyes, most skyscrapers are built with concrete and not steel.

Precast is the future.

I’m contemplating a precast coping on my current build. I did one in my 1847 builds. I intend to improve the design this time around.
The cost of installing coping on flat roofs can do something more valuable in the house.

And guess what, bulk of the money goes into perishable items.

Chief, if this is from Lagos the price is much ooo
But the Number 1 item (100mm pipe thick quoted for N2000 is too low , that is around 2500-3000 for thick type)

With the total amount I’m seen there, you can get far lesser from here.

In other news we just finished this hand railing installation is in progress

You didn’t state if it’s the piping alone or finishing or even both.

My house is a four bedroom bungalow plus a study room and here is the quotation I got for just the piping work.

The problem is all these things have no law backing. But our govs. And law makers are aware and don't want to destroy those practices.
It's shameful.
They all keep quiet cos anyone who says a word about it won't be re-elected
I once saw the omonile price for elegusi, the money is even enough to build a mini duplex lol

This is not bad BUT your type of material is diff from his own, your is PVC materials while his own is PPR materials.
But nevertheless what the plumber quote is MUCH as I said earlier he can get it lower here (Lagos/ nairaland supplier) if he wishes

i know the omoniles can b devilish but sometimes look at this from a better angle, th road you passed to your site is being maintained by them mostly so paying to have your aggregates delivered isn't that bad though.
