Well said bro, but this does not apply always. It is still small cartel that import fuel as we have it now, this is because the business is not for everyone, when you consider the capital involve. They are still going to be small cartel importers that can manipulate price anytime if they want to.

Dangote will also be remitting part of his returns abroad. You need regular supply of chemicals and machinery to run a refinery. Like I said before, the fact dat crude comes from Nigeria doesn't mean capital flight won't be happening.

Those with refinery licenses should at least go and build 5,000 barrels refinery and then join the fuel import train. If we have 20 of such 5,000 barrels refinery owners importing, they will collectively give Dangote a run for his money.

Regarding Tbills, what causes the fluctuations in interest rates? Sometimes it goes up to 18% and now 5%. Is it arbitrarily set by the government?

Alternatively, does it mean that the economy is now projected to be less risky or reduced inflation and so d government is only willing to pay us less for freezing our moneys ?

Or could it be an avenue to mop excess funds by d government, in this case, does it mean their are less funds in circulation?

I follow your argument quite alright and i understand it. I do not agree with you that people should be allowed an open field to import. We need to develop the country and create employment for our teeming youthful population. I have kids growing up here. Where you want them to work?. As US and Canada cannot contain all our teeming youths, we need to keep the majority of them here and get them engaged. Giving our scarce dollars to people just to import fuel thereby creating employment in other countries does not cut it for me. it is even a shame that we sell crude oil and then import fuel. It is like a cassava farmer selling cassava and perpetually buying garri with the proceeds from those he sold the cassava to. Where i come from, such a farmer will be the butt of jokes in any gathering.

You want to import fuel, then build a refinery even if na 1,000 barrels.

I support Dangote proposal 100%.

Btw, you saw what happened in US during the pandemic where people were queueing and fighting over common tissue paper. That is a result of allowing everybody and everything to be imported.
