Hi guys, I currently have a little above 5M in naira idle and I would want to put it into a business/trade. Something with good yield and room for expansion. Basically something I can grow. I don't want to invest it in bit coin/crypto or mutual funds ( i already have investment in those for easy liquidation).
every idea is welcome, thanks.

Buy land in three locations that are not more than 500k per plot.
After two years, you sell and buy a cheaper one again. So long as you are an active worker you can't do anything buying and selling or any other thing at all successfully. Whoever you leave it to would run it down.

As if you have people on cue waiting to buy the land in 2 years time. Property biz is for long term. The bolded comment is just too pessimistic. To run a successful biz and make money, you have to be able to find people you can trust. It's not possible to do everything by yourself. I used to think like you before but i know better now.

I think it depends on what His financial and housing goals are. The rate of hyperinflation in Nigeria is likely to erode the value of that 5m over the years.

5m is the profit. The house is still his and will even be worth more than that.

You're right. But the house will have valued more than 5m also.

I quite know and agree there are more businesses that can yield more profit in shorter time than building self contained, but if OP has no time to monitor his business, the self contained option is one of least risky options for him.

I don't know how to put this to you to not seem to sound stupíd just because you don't have proper knowledge of it — but if I were in your shoes, 5 million should fetch me CONSISTENT 100k to 300k every 3 days.

How?

Crypto trading. Not necessarily altcoins but bitcòin itself. Why?

Trading via Binance, B T C had huge market cap and huge volume. So what you need to do is trade volume instead of price action.

It isn't easy as I put it if you a rookie and lacks trading strategy technical know-how but (like I earlier stated) with my expertise, I will make consistent of those figures aforementioned with that 5 million capital.

Do you have someone in USA, Canada, Australia, Hongkong, Taiwan, Singapore, Dubai, Japan, Korea and others...

Salvage cars,
Dismantle cars and import as parts,
Put them in the container,
Customers are there already for you,
Within 3 days you are done with the selling once container hits tincan,
You can even sell at Tincan,
With this, i bet you that you will quit your job and involve fully...
I repeat, there are already customers with cash at hand waiting and begging.
No one will owe you a dime...
I wont loud it bro...
A trial will convince you...

Please I beg you in God's name, invest in oil business. It's almost the most lucrative business you can ever get involved in. The ROI is massive

There are different sectors in the oil industry. which of them exactly? you have to be precise.

Whatsoever to do must be a Business born out of
1.. PASSION,
2.. IN DEMAND able to solve problem.
3.. SELF SUFFICIENCY ( BECAUSE U'RE OCCUPIEDLY WORKING)
4.. ACCOUNTABLE ( THAT U CAN EASILY TRACE ITS FINANCIAL (TRANSACTION) RECORD
5 ... Above all PROFITABLE

Moreso with such capital, I will advice OP to multi invest ( diversify), since he won't be there to fully run d business himself, though bearing those above stated factors in mind.

Should one fail, delay in picking up or lack profitably , the other will aid and balance up. U only put all ur capital in an investment u can fully and actively run to success. SO SPREAD UR RISK WHEN INVESTING PASSIVELY.

No mind that overstayed thief. OP, can buy cheap items at Day to day , 1 TO 10 CENTRE and some 10-20dirhs store, where items are sold from 10-20 or 1-10dirh. Very cheap and with some qualities.

With 100k naira, your Ghana must go bag go full.

Bring them home and resell. Na em that ode de shout abaya 25k and Nike shoe. Which abaya? Same abaya wey one girl wey I know de advertise everyday without anybody buying??

Seems you over there. But what about cost of bringing it in

1. Importation of cars; with 5 million, you can import
two toyota corollas' (2003-05). Easy to sell and
you'll make good profit.

2. If you have a land, you can go into animal
husbandry, rare pigs, goats, sheep etc

3. If you have a wife/girl that knows how to cook, food
businesss is always good business.

4. You can get a car or two for Uber, Taxify, bolt etc. If
you dont mind driving yourself, its better there is
moneyy to be made, but no easy.

All businesses need patience, perseverance and determination. And they all come with risks. Bottom line 5 million naira is not much to start anything big, but i have seen small businesses grow into big businesses.
Nice one. U have brain for business

Haulage and Logistics, That 5m can get you a truck from USA get it insured, and registered.. and i tell you, ttaking rice from Offa, Kwara state get you 2.5m naira monthly, then after sevices, payment, Goofs in Transit insirance, Truck Insurance, Truck sevicing You will still have like 1.3m naira left the you will get your capital back before 6 months then you can purchase another one. then you have to. but the Trucks are advisable to be sold in 2 years.... if you get VOLVO or MACK those are the better ones

What is the tonnage of the truck that 5million will buy for you from the US?

You are talking rubbish, it is not possible for a truck of 5million to generate the cost of acquiring it in just 6 months!

Take a studio apartment on lease. 20 years lease is 2.5m around Unilag. Rent it out at 400k per anuum. Steady income with no stress.

If you take 2 rooms on lease you will be making 800k annually for the next 20years. That is exclusive of the caution fee and agreement you will collect on every new tenant
for real?

You are correct sir,I smile when people shout haulage business ,that thing is veryyy risky.
Accidents(pray no fatality)
breakdowns, drivers stealing your fuel(forget tracking them, they always find a way)
drivers been kidnapped(yes it happen)
drivers carrying contraband and nabbed by officials, task force/police wahala.
maintaining it is another one.

Haulage is highlyyyyy profitable, but if you are not ready ready ready, don't go into it.

I don’t live there. Cost Of bringing your items in is; checking two big bags in, when traveling back. And if it’s more than two bags; Then you can seek the service of the Cargo boys at the airport Entrance.

Try fish farming.

But first, try to learn from experts first. I hear that the best and biggest fish farms and farmers are in Ilorin (Asa dam) and Ijebu-Ode.

Secondly, start small and upscale with time.

Thirdly, think security first then availability of water second when choosing a site. The biggest risk to an animal farmer is a lazy and useless man looking for protein on his meal. As for water, the fresher the water and the more the space the bigger your harvest.

Thank me later.
