The chance of getting visa with associate degree is very small, if you've a bsc you might be better off with masters

OK, thank you replying. I do not have a BSc. If I'm to apply for BSc though, do I have a chance?

Also, is GRE a must for BSc?

GRE is for masters
SAT is for Bsc

The chance is higher than that of associate degree

Thanks a lot.

I don't want a scholarship. I would actually like to go for an Associates degree, but someone said that's got to be tough.

Anyways, if I must take SAT and English Proficiency test this year and still be able to apply before fall 2021 deadline, will you advise it?

Of course I understand there's the visa interview hurdle, but my biggest concern really is, is it doable? Can someone take these two tests in time to use them to gain admission and still get an interview date before it is too late for fall 2021 semester.

I'm trying to get information online through Google searches and all, yet I'll appreciate some responses from here too. I do know next year might sound like the easy option, but I want to attempt this year for reason. I'm also 32 years, age isn't a strong point for me now.

Finally, I haven't really seen much against Associates Degree, which is my preferred path since it means I get the skills I need two years earlier and in a means that's easier on my finances. But someone here said it is hard to get an f1 visa for associate degree. Do you think that is correct?

Thanks a lot for your replies.

First of all I will not discourage you concerning your age ( age shouldn’t be a barrier in education I have seen someone of your age get approved for a Canadian visa for Bsc) though Canada and America systems in obtaining a visa is different
Now back to my point you would not be approved going for an associate degree to study in USA it’s better you use a university then when you get there you can change schools to your choice.

Another aspect is considering your age it might be hard convincing a VO of your intent to school is pure and not to run away to greener pastures
Nothing is impossible hope for a good and understanding VO, meaning in your ds160 you have to give solid explanations of what you have been doing and why you haven’t completed your Bsc for so long and hope they ask you this question because you cannot speak on something you was not asked to talk on freely

Lastly if you decide to take SAT now and wait till your results are out before applying for fall
Yes some schools are possible to apply with as they give decisions ASAP max two weeks providing all docs for admission
While some take 4-8 weeks because of covid and weather conditions
So you can try and hope to score high
If you get delayed in admission then your best option would be for spring 2022

What gives you scholarship mainly is SAT

Concerning dates now it’s unpredictable but I’m sure dates should start opening soon.
Hope this helps

Well my first advice is try and calm down, you're pushing yourself a lot and you're not well informed about the journey you want to embark on.
I'll advise you to go thru the last part and check by yourself how many people got their visa approved with associate degree, by doing so you'll know whether it's doable or not.

On a norms, for a 32 year old person you're suppose to be going for masters with strong home ties(family, good job or properties), so going for bachelor is an hurricane task talk less of associate degree.

Then SAT is not an exam you can quickly write and use it to get admission..the exam require a lot of preparation and even as at now most schools deadlines has gone already, so I'm advising you as a bro that you should take some months to figure what you wanna do and then start preparation accordingly, by then you'll be confident in your self..

I personally I've been following this thread since 2018 and I'm just going for fall 2021...no time is waste in finding knowledge.

Good luck

Please I need information concerning GRE as I heard it increases one's chances in getting funding for PhD. Recently I was denied admission from two Universities maybe because of no GRE score, even though they waived GRE for fall admissions. Please I would like to know how I can register for the exam and how long I will need to prepare before I can sit for it. Also is it CBT or PBT?

My friend's brother who lives in UK made the payment for him with a debit card. I'm sure it should be possible in Canada also. The person should go to any western union branch and make the payment there once you've sent him your payment coupon

oh thank you very much for this. Does this mean it cannot be paid online by just using a card details-without going to any western union branch ?
Because I feel it can be paid online instantly with card details not sure just want to confirm

No, it can't be paid online. It's either you mail a check/money order of $350 to Sevis address or you pay at any western union branch.
