Passports just arrived now. 3 months visit visa.
With conditions of return ticket and each visit not to exceed 30days.
I submitted since December o
Please
I'm thinking of booking with Airpeace because of their direct flight to Johannesburg. Who has used them here?
Please, for those that has travelled recently, Is there anything to be done apart from the usual covid19 test before traveling!?

Is there anybody that has travelled recently to South Africa here?

I booked earlier with asky airline but they just started code sharing flight with Ethiopia airline. The layover time is much, I'm scared my covid19 results would have exceeded 72hrs at the POE.
Will it matter?
Anybody that has travelled recently should please brief me on the protocol and airline if possible.
Thanks in anticipation
Before answering your question its interesting how these countries target nigeria but never come out to admit it. I told someone early last year that the ASKY service from Lome to Johannesburg was just a creation of ethiopian to leech on the nigerian market. They are not satisfied with their daily service to addis from kano, enugu, abuja and lagos. The went to Lome to get more nigerian passengers to j'burg (asky) and new york. Barely three months after airpeace started directed service to j'burg they seem to have pulled out lol.
Back to your question, based on covid guidelines and knowing how strict SA could be I'll suggest you fly on kenya airways or better still air peace if you have extra 50k to spare. The kenya airways flight isnt as comfortable as the airpeace flight. Kenya airways uses E190 now on the lagos nairobi route which has got tight seats , no flight entertainment , transit time in nairobi, less leg room, noisy although its cheaper (200k). On the other hand airpeace gets you to j'burg in 5 hours and they use the 777 (bigger seats, flight entertainment, better meals) though cost about 250k.

Thank you Sir but the one way ticket to Joburg with Airpeace is 160k (economy) , I confirmed from their customer care

Hi Blurpy, You are a visitor so you must have a return ticket which is 250k on Airpeace.
Meanwhile, I got same response as you did on the tracking site cos I reside in PH but haven’t received my passport yet. Did you go to VFS office to pick yours up? I actually paid for courier though

If you are on visitor's visa, please ensure you buy a return flight ticket to avoid Immigration wahala. Moreover, why would you contemplate one way if you only intend to spend 30 days? grin grin

Same question I asked myself.
Some categories of visas are exempt from return ticket and visitors visa isn't one of them

I arrived Capetown yesterday, 15th merch 2021. I got my visa on the 4th of March, and had applied since November 27th 2020.
In all of this, I've been lucky to have an amazing supervisor who stood by me through delays and almost losing my scholarship. She even picked me up from the airport and shopped groceries for me. A real angel.
I'm in a temporary residence close to UCT, I'll be here for two weeks.i will commence my house search this weekend. You can use gumtree website to search for accomodation. The accomodation here is really expensive generally.
I have also been able to begin the bank account opening process.

This thread was really helpful to me. I will be glad to answer questions or help anyone who needs Information.
Cheers.

I don't know what worked, prayers, my supervisors follow up mails, or calls to vfs officers to help forward my appeal to the embassy. Every mail I sent I copied my supervisor and she kept sending them reminders.funniky I never got replies, but they always sent her replies.

Those ones at the airport kept hounding me about return ticket, and asking what I was travelling for, even when it was clearly a study Visa.. Thankfully I booked a return ticket. My residence was paid for by my supervisor, see why I say she is an angel yea.
