The key question to ask is how did Bola Tinubu acquire such stupendous wealth as to be able to out-compete virtually all the APC contestants put together and buy his way through? Tinubu is not associated publicly with any business and he last held political office 14 years ago as two time governor of Lagos State from 1999 – 2007. The state government, since 2020, has increased the rate it pays to Alpha Beta LLC, from N800 million to N2.5 billion, according to credible bank documents obtained by People’s Gazette. Payments to Alpha Beta have been at the heart of conflict between Tinubu and his two predecessors in office. As governor, Tinubu got the pliant state assembly to sign off on a 10 percent monthly commission to the firm on accrued revenue. But even after leaving office, he continued to authorise outrageous deductions from the state coffers, which led to a face-off with his successor, Babatunde Fashola. Fashola eventually settled to paying the company N800 million monthly, a fee Ambode, who took over from Fashola, was unwilling to increase. Politics, the say, is who gets what, when and how? Politics is an emotionless spot. The overall aim of any politician is to win elections. Not to deliver good services. The elite do not have the masses as friends. Peter Obi, with all his ranting about being modest has only the rich as his friends. No poor man is Peter Obi’s friend and that is why he is all over Nigeria hobnobbing with the same people has preaches against. This is not why I am here. Tinubu is likely to win the forthcoming election. The reason is because poor Nigerians are greedy Nigerians who want a government that will solve all their problems. Any candidate that shapes the people’s perception wins. This does not translate to good governance as we have seen overtime. Somebody like Rochas should IMO state shege! But that is not why I am here. I must say this again. A vote for Peter Obi is a vote for Tinubu. No amount of greed, emotion and sacrifice will avert this error if the people fail to vote Atiku. The only thing that wins election is strategy. The people only have their emotions and greed. No strategy. The people may wail again. |
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have discovered billions of Naira in cash stashed in various houses of some serving governors. Multiple sources on Friday identified the governors as Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State and Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, in exclusive interviews with SaharaReporters. governors, multiple sources in the anti-graft agency identified them as Governors Wike, Ganduje and Matawalle of Rivers, Kano and Zamfara respectively to SaharaReporters. “The three governors we are monitoring are Governors Wike, Matawalle and Kano’s Ganduje. Billions of naira stashed in their homes in Abuja, Port Harcourt and Kano have been discovered,” a top EFCC official told SaharaReporters. “These three state governors were caught trying to move these huge sums of notes kept in their residences after the CBN announced its decision to redesign the naira notes. “They are in billions; that of Ganduje is purely kept in Kano but he has used some parts to pay for a hotel he’s building in Abuja. The hotel is at the back of the Nigerian Air Force Conference Centre.” “Zamfara governor, Matawalle kept his own in some houses he owns in Abuja while Wike has his own kept in Abuja and Port Harcourt,” one of the sources said. In 2018, two videos of Ganduje allegedly receiving kickbacks from contractors trended on social media. The videos published by Daily Nigerian, an online newspaper, showed the governor receiving bundles of dollars and putting them into his flowing dress known as ‘babanriga’ in the northern part of Nigeria. The governor had reportedly requested $5 million from the contractors who recorded the video while handing part of the payment to him. In one of the videos, the governor appeared to have received $230,000, which he hastily stashed in his ‘babanriga,’ a flowing dress common in northern Nigeria.
