THE BLESSINGS OF THE BLOOD 7.0 - POWER IN THE BLOOD

Those who have power with God naturally prevail among men (Genesis 32:29). ‘And he said, let me go, for the day breaketh.   And he said I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.   27 And he said unto him, what is thy name?  And he said, Jacob.   28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel:  for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

For every soul must subject to the higher power for there is no power but of God (Romans 13:1)

When you are in possession of the higher power the lesser power submits to you. For life is basically a contest of powers, your power base determines your level of influence and authority! When you increase in power you increase in influence and authority!

We are in the days of his Power and in the day of his power, all authority and influence shall return to the church (Psalm 110:1-3)!

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool.   2 The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion:  rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.   3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning:  thou hast the dew of thy youth ‘

Nothing will harass our destinies again all because of power (Psalm 66:3).

And the highest display of God's power was wrought on the cross and at the resurrection when the blood of his Son was shed for our redemption! It was described as the "exceeding greatness of his power"(Ephesians 1:17-20).

‘That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:  18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened;  that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places’

This was the power Paul so long to understand! This power was procured on the platform of the BLOOD! And so, the greatest power in the world is the power in the blood

THE BLOOD DELIVERS

It seems she was possessed by varying numbers of demons and powers who were struggling for her soul. Like the man in the Bible when Jesus asked what the name of the demon was he replied and said 'legion' meaning that they were many. That was also the case here. The demons cried out with varying voices and various physical manifestations to demonstrate the ones been cast out!

The principal demon it seems cried out at one point and said, 'I have long occupied this soul for years and I am not going to leave her now even if the other demon leaves'. It was at that point I remember Zechariah 9:11-12 to turn to the stronghold of the blood!

‘As for you also, Because of the blood of your covenant, I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.  Return to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Even today I declare that I will restore double to you.’

"The blood of Jesus" echoes and reverberates from our mouths; it was the last card of deliverance! And the devil knows that and pleaded for mercy! Hallelujah! But no mercy here for the oppressor of the soul! The continual shout of the blood brought deliverance and wrought victory for this sister bound by the devil and its cohorts! By the blood, she was delivered from all oppressions of the devil!

Revelations 12:11" And they overcame him.by the BLOOD OF THE LAMB and by the words of their testimony"!

How long you have been bound is not as important as the power in the blood. The blood delivers!

Hebrews 2:14-15 says through his death and the shedding of his blood he has obtained the power to deliver us from every lifetime of bondage!

‘Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

For 430 years the children of promise were held in prison of slavery and oppression and it looks the promise deliverance would never happen. Signs after signs followed from Moses and yet Pharaoh won’t budge, he won’t let up the children of promise from their many years of servitude. But that was until the blood stepped in. The blood of the lamb came on the scene and there 430 years of servitude was broken! At the instance of the blood their destinies were ransomed and delivered and Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:7 that Jesus our Passover lamb has been sacrificed for us!

The first shedding or sacrifice of the blood was made in Genesis, immediately after the first family fell. God killed a lamb and out of it made skin covering to cover the unclothedness of Adam and Eve. But the significance was much more than the skin, it was the blood, there the blood was shed as atonement for the soul (Genesis 3:21)

‘Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.’

It was already established by God in Leviticus 17:11,14 that it was only the blood that could make atonement for the soul!

‘For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’ Therefore I said to the children of Israel, ‘No one among you shall eat blood, nor shall any stranger who dwells among you eat blood’ (Leviticus 17:11-12)

The only problem was that the blood of the lambs use under the old covenant was neither strong or pure enough to wash away our sins! It covers it for one year until another atonement is made the next year. This was the failure of the old covenant. (Hebrews 8:7, Hebrews 10:4).

‘For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. Because finding fault with them, He says: “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant’ (Hebrews 8:7-cool

‘For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins’ (Hebrews 10:4)

God knew this was a temporary fix until the blood of his son was shed for the remission of our sin! God knew that until our bloodline was changed our destiny could not be saved! He shed the blood of Jesus for the redemption of our sin, meaning he bought us and brought us back by the blood (1 Peter 1:18-21, Matthew 26:28, Colossians 1:14).

‘Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God’(1 Peter 1:18-21)

The blood not only redeemed us, it justified us, so we are not guilty, we are at peace with God (Romans 3:24-25, Romans 5:8-9).

‘But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

THE BLOOD STILL SPEAKS

The Blood has its voice. The Blood can speak! The Blood may be shed once but continues to speak on. This is the reason the creator detests every form of blood shedding! Because long after the act has been committed the impact continues to live on!

Matter of fact, the more blood that is shed on the land the more cursed the land becomes! Shedding the blood is a form of spiritual pollution to God! He detests it (Numbers 35:33)

‘So, you shall not pollute the land where you are; for blood defiles the land, and no atonement can be made for the land, for the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of him who shed it. Therefore, do not defile the land which you inhabit, in the midst of which I dwell; for I the Lord dwell among the children of Israel.’(Numbers 35:33)

Now when the first murder was committed by Cain, here was what God said: "And he said, what hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood cry unto me from the ground"(Genesis 4:10) The impact of the shed blood cannot be erased: long after it's spilled, it continues to speak!

This is the significance and power in the blood and that was what God put to use when He shed the blood of His son! Though the blood has been shed thousands of years ago, but today that blood still speaks! Hallelujah!

Hebrews 12:24 says, "And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better things than that of Abel". And verse 25 tells us that if no one can escape the power of the blood that speaks from the earth how can they escape the power of the one that speaks from heaven!

Without the shedding of the blood their is no remission of sins! And without remission of sin the righteousness of God cannot be revealed! Without that their is no Christianity. Without the resurrection our faith is in vain.

Bloodline$,Heritage

At the fall the blood of humanity became corrupted by sin and consequently death. The pure sinless bloodline has been contaminated! Every human being born hence possesses this impure bloodline that is susceptible to sin, sickness disease, curses, poverty and death! (Romans 5:17)

Therefore, anyone with this impure bloodline no matter how righteous or morally upright he is in his deeds is still considered a sinner! For our righteousness is but a filthy rag before God! For there is none righteous before him with an impure bloodline.

‘As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one;’ – Romans 3:10

And then how can a clean thing come out of an unclean thing?

‘Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one!’ – Job 14:14

No matter how noble the deed, a corrupted bloodline will only breed corruption! The noble deeds of a slave will never qualify him for the throne. It is what flows in the blood that determines what comes to him. If there is no royalty in the bloodline there is no throne in his future!

This is where the blood offered in the old covenant fails, it only covers our sins but can't wash them away! However, the blood of the new covenant not only washes away our sin, it also changes our bloodline so that we are incorporated into God's family! (Hebrews 9:1-15 Ephesians 2:13-20) Hallelujah!

‘But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone’(Ephesians 3:13-20)

We partake of the blood of Jesus through a process of spiritual grafting and so we have God's life and DNA. In our blood is royalty, no wonder he says in 1 Peter 2:9 that through his blood flowing in us we can reign on the earth! Through his bloodline we have a heritage of royalty. Our bloodline therefore determines our heritage!

THE SUPERIOR BLOODLINE

In ancient Korean kingdoms which operates a caste society of, royals, nobles, commoners and slaves. Only a person with a royal bloodline can ascend the throne! Having a royal bloodline means you are born either as a prince or a princess to the royal family! It is why in the far East; the monarchical system operates with dynasties as there is just one ruling family that rules for hundreds or thousands of years!

The reason why the bloodline is important is because it is believed only the person with "royalty" in his blood that can be ruler over the land. It is believed that royal qualities, virtues, character and personality can only be passed through the blood! So, anyone that isn't born to the royalty no matter how good is not believe to possess "royalty in their blood" which is the qualification to ascending the throne!

To a large extent most of the virtues, qualities and character that we exhibit are passed down to us from our parents and oftentimes, these qualities or character that we are born with are difficult to change.

Essentially then, the bloodline determines the quality of life that is passed down from one generation to the other! The bloodline determines the quality of life parents pass to their children. The basic characters and quality a person possesses at birth is essentially passed through the bloodline!

Therefore, our bloodline determines our lifeline. The quality of the bloodline determines the quality of the life pass on. Therefore, every man born of a woman is a sinner by nature, as Adam's blood was corrupted by sin at the fall. And this was the bloodline that was passed down to all humanity! The bloodline of sin, sickness and death. Read this in Romans 5:12-17.

Therefore, just as through one-man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

The Cleansing power of the blood

‘What can wash our sins away nothing but the blood of Jesus....’

These are the opening words of one of the most sang hymn in the Christendom today. Even millions outside of the faith can reckon with this song! It talks of the cleansing power of the blood without which we have no standing with God!

It is the greatest mystery and that is the power of the blood! The blood is red but still washes white! Revelation 7:14 says, "These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb". The red blood cleanses white! Hallelujah! The natural blood will bring stain but His blood makes clean (Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14, 1 John 1:7)

‘In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace’ (Ephesians 1:7)

‘But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin’ (1 John 1:7)

Clean means you are without guilt and condemnation! It means your sin and shame don't count no more! The blood washed them away so you can come boldly before God and exercise the right of your sonship!

Condemnation in the heart kills your spiritual confidence and without spiritual confidence(boldness) there is no spiritual reward! (Hebrews 10:35).

‘Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward’

The blood washes you clean so you can have confidence to approach God and claim your inheritance in Him! Tell every accusing voice now "'I have been washed clean!”

POWER IN THE BLOOD

The Bible says 'without the shedding of the blood there is no remission of(sin). (Hebrews 9:22). And it is only by overcoming sin that our dominion is established here on earth! Therefore, the blood is at the root of our victory! "For they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the words of their testimony"(Rev.12:11). In fact the significant event at the cross was that Jesus shed his blood for our sins!

Therefore the Christian faith is the message of the blood! Though the only part of the Bible that is written in red are the words of Jesus, but in actual reality, every word of the Bible is written in red. Of Jesus who is the word of God, the Bible wrote in Revelations 19:11,13, 'He was clothed with a robe dipped in the blood, and His name is called The Word of God”. The whole word of God is dipped in the blood!

Indeed all the blessings that redemption can give to us were delivered on the platform of the blood of Jesus. Revelation 5:8-12 tells us that by his blood he has gotten for us: "power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing".

And they sung a new song, saying, thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof:  for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests:  and we shall reign on the earth. And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders:  and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

All that redemption gave to us was delivered to us on the platform of the blood. The message of the cross is the message of the blood. The Christian message is the message of the blood of the lamb.

French philosopher Voltaire and American President John Adams are famous for their criticisms of Christianity because they thought it was a “bloody religion,” with all its wars, its frequent mention of blood, and the bloody death of its founder, Jesus Christ. Anyone in doubt of the latter is still to watch Mel's Gibson account of the "passion of Christ", it was a bloody death!

Denying the power of the blood is denying the power of the cross. Denying the power of the blood is denying the power of the Lord. For the life of the flesh is in the blood, in giving his life the Lord gave his blood! (Leviticus 17:14)

HE FINISHED IT ALL

As he hung on the cross, over 2000 years ago our Lord and savior uttered the most important word that has redefined the destiny of humanity! In all 7 times, he spoke on the cross, 3 times before the darkness, once during the darkness and 3 times after the darkness. His words on the cross:

Word of forgiveness - *father, forgive them for they know not what they do* Luke 23:34

Word of Assurance - *today shalt thou be with me in paradise* - Luke 23:43

Word of comfort - *Woman behold thy son' and to John, 'Behold thy mother* - John 19:26-27

Word of desolation - *My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me* Matthew 27:45, Mark 15:33-36, Luke 23:44

Word of suffering - *I thirst* - John 19:26

****Word of Triumph*** - *_It is finished_*- John 19:30

Word of committal - *Father into thy hands I commend my spirit* - Luke 23:46

All words that carry weights and imports, but I will focus on one that summarises all that he did for us over 2000 years ago. When all has been done and wrapped up the son of God proclaimed: it is finished! They were the most important words uttered in the history of humanity!

When he came his mission was well spelled out: 'for this purpose was the son of God manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil!' and on the cross, he did just that through his death! Through death, he destroyed him that had the power of sin and death! And, then he rose three days after he declared ' I am he that liveth and was dead. But now I live forever more and I have the keys of hell death!' Hallelujah!

Through his death, he gave us victory over everything mortal - sin and death! And now he has the keys of hell and death, meaning that it is no longer Satan that determines your lifespan! He no longer has the keys! Jesus has it! Every death sentence hanging over your life and destiny is declared null and void, in the name of Jesus!

On the cross, he finished the dominion of sin over us therefore

Stand in the finished work of Christ!

Stand in the power of his death and resurrection!

Stand in the victory obtain for us.

RESURRECTION TRUTHS
THE RESURRECTION POWER

No doubt in this kingdom the Holy Spirit is the power of God. In Acts 1:8 the Bible made it clear: ‘But ye shall receive POWER after the HOLY SPIRIT HAS COME UPON YOU'. Now that's self-explanatory: power only comes after the Holy Spirit is resident in our lives! This is further confirmed in Acts 10:38, Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit and then power! If you read in Acts 4:31-33 you will notice the same sequence: they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and then great grace(power) was upon them!

Acts 4:31-33, And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together;  and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.   32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul:  neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own;  but they had all things common.   33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus:  and great grace was upon them all

The Holy Ghost is the embodiment and carrier of God's power! When He is resident in our lives his power flows through us! But much more there is a dimension of his power that had Paul thinking: 'that I may know him and the power of his resurrection'. It is the resurrection power or the resurrection dimension of the working of the power of the Holy Spirit!

Yes, it is the same Holy Spirit but with different dimensions of workings and administration. In Isaiah 11:1-3 we see how the same Holy Spirit works in different dimensions in the life of Jesus providing a picture of how it should work in our lives as believers! This is the same with his power: it has a different dimension to its workings! But there is the resurrection dimension of that power which we are told is the 'exceeding greatness' of the working of God's power (Ephesians 1:17-20)! This is the first description of that resurrection power: it is exceedingly great in its working!

Ephesians 1:17-20, _That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:  18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened;  that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And *what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead* and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places_

Going back a bit on our Bible pages we see another description of this power by Paul in Romans 8:11, If the Spirit of him that raised Christ from the dead dwelleth in you, THAT SAME SPIRIT WILL QUICKEN...This dimension of God's power as we see here is self-quickening and self-activated! It goes to work on its own! It brings what is dead back to life on its own!

Picture this, Jesus was dead in the grave, sealed in a tomb with no means to escape, deserted as it were by all, even by the father but still carrying the Holy Spirit in his dead body! This seems dormant in the grave after the passage of two days! But on the third day, the resurrection power went to work on its own! It began to quicken Christ's dead body, revitalizing every dead cell and reawakening every dead bone!

And then Jesus without been called forth came forth! All on his own! Hallelujah! The self-quickening power of God was at work and the son of God came back from the dead!

This resurrection season whatever is dead in your life is coming back to life of its own accord in Jesus name!!! Amen!

‘IT ALL BEGAN AT CALVARY'

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning.   For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil’1 John 3:8

This is the major reason why he came: to free us from sin, sickness, disease, poverty, and death! His work was to restore us back to our original mandate of dominion that was lost in Adam. His work was to restore us back to life! A life that cannot be ruled by death!

Romans 5:14-17 sheds light on this that up until the coming of Christ, death reigned over all!

"For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ"

But as soon as Christ stepped into the sin, death gave way to life! Death lost its power because Jesus has gotten the victory! This revelation made Paul shout in 1 Corinthians 15:55, 'O death where is thy sting, oh grave where is thy victory. But thanks be to God, which gaveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ's'

The sting of death was lost on the cross!

The power of the grave was overcome at the resurrection!

The resurrection work and its victory for us all began at the Calvary! He first needed to die before he could rise! And on the cross of Calvary God's love was expressed for mankind as he 'gave up his only begotten son' to die for us. Now note this, very important, Calvary expresses the love of God while the resurrection expresses the power of God! Through the demonstration of his love and the workings of his mighty power at the resurrection, God gave humanity a new lease of life! Hallelujah!

RESURRECTION TRUTHS(1)
WITHOUT THE RESURRECTION OUR FAITH IS FAKE AND IN VAIN!

The week of Easter is commonly referred to as the ‘passion week’.  If this is so then it is appropriate to refer to the month of Easter as the passion month. This is the month of March, the month of Easter and therefore it is safe to refer to this month as the passion month. Though the Easter Sunday is on the first of April, still the majority of the fasting leading to the Easter takes place in the month of March. The Good Friday is also in the month of March. So welcome once again into the month of restoration, for in this month by the works of Christ on the cross the restoration of humanity back to his original position in God was accomplished. Earlier in Isaiah 42:22, the situation of humanity was described in gory details: ‘But this is a people robbed and spoiled;  they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses:  they are for a prey, and none delivereth;  for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.’

We were a people robbed and spoiled and then Christ came in this passion month and restored us back to glory, we are now no longer a people robbed and spoiled but a people robed in the splendor and beauty of our God! This was what the resurrection of Christ brought us, total restoration back to our once held Edenic status in God! This is why the message of the cross, of the resurrection, became the predominant message of the Apostles!

There was only one thing the Apostles harped on in almost all of their messages: the resurrection of Christ. In one of those scriptures that buttress this in Acts 4:33 the Bible says, with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus and great grace was upon them all. Other scriptures that testified of the Apostles passion about the resurrection abounds: Acts 2:32-33, Acts 4:2, Acts 4:33, Acts 17:18, 32

This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.   33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.(Acts 2:32-33)

1 And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them, 2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.(Acts 4:2)

You can understand their craziness about the resurrection gospel. I have seen a couple of dead people raised back to life planting churches the length and breadth of the land. You could feel the excitement. Every Sunday after such events the church has always been filled up! The whole town during such period never gets anything to talk about that except this miraculous resuscitation of men, women, and children who for once everyone thought were dead. Every little group of men, women, and children chatting across different homes and corners in the town were always talking about the 'landlord's daughter that was raised back to life', it was a discourse that probably goes on for months and years! That's the power of having the dead raised back to life! Or if I told you that your dead grandma has been raised back to life and I had dinner with her last night will you keep just wave it off and ask 'what's the next interesting thing?’ No! Nothing can be more interesting than the resurrection from the dead!

This was all the Apostles can preach and really that was all there is to preach anyway because without the resurrection our faith is fake and in vain!

DAY 10

TODAY’S TEXT: “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold’ (Job 23:10)

TODAY’S WORD: THE SUPPLY OF THE SPIRIT REFINES THE DESTINIES OF THE SAINTS

In Malachi 3:2-3 we read, "But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness."

This description of the Holy Spirit in Malachi was consistent with what we later read in Matthew 3:11 from John the Baptist.

‘I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire’

And in verse 12 we were told the fire will burn off the chaffs in our lives, a cleansing and purifying experience.

‘12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

It was not surprising therefore that in line with the prophecies that had gone ahead when he appeared on Pentecost day he sat on everyone like a "cloven tongue of fire".

‘And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance’ (Acts 2:1-4)

The refiner's fire has one mission to remove the spiritual dross in our lives so that our finer details can emerge! For when he has “tried me" I shall come forth as gold! The fire of God burns that which is undesirable in us, purifying us of all dirt and presenting us Holy before God ready, purified and refined to fulfil God’s purpose for our lives!

The supply of the Spirit refines the destinies of the saints! The Spirit helps us to ‘mortify the deeds of the flesh’ (Romans 8:13) so that we can live in consonance with the dictates of the Spirit for nothing mortgages our spiritual destiny like sin and walking in the demands of the flesh. The daily supply of the Spirit constantly refine us so that we are not ‘debtors to the flesh’ to live according to its dictates.

Mortification through the Spirit is the process by which the Holy Spirit rises up on the inside of you to destroy the hold that the flesh has over you. Instead of sin having dominion over you, you gain dominion over it. The Spirit of God comes into ascendancy in your life. No wonder the next verse after verse 14, Romans 8, tells us that ‘as many as are led by the Spirit of God are the Sons of God’. When we mortify the deeds of the flesh then we can hear the voice of the Spirit. It is this voice of his direction that guarantees our manifestation in the world. To always hear that voice we must be ruled by the Spirit.

As you pray today you will be refined and your true colour shall emerge. The power of sin and its grip on you will be destroyed. The wantonness and pleasure of the flesh will lose its power over you. Amen

TODAY’S PRAYER: Lord let the refiners’ fire purify me of every dead works so that I can serve you acceptably.

TODAY’S THOUGHT TO REMEMBER: The refiner's fire has one mission to remove the spiritual dross in our lives so that our finer details can emerge! For when he has “tried me" I shall come forth as gold! The fire of God burns that which is undesirable in us, purifying us of all dirt and presenting us Holy before God ready, purified and refined to fulfil God’s purpose for our lives!

DAY 9

TODAY’S TEXT: “And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light and there was light’ (Genesis 1:2-3)

TODAY’S WORD: THE SUPPLY OF THE SPIRIT PROVIDES AN ATMOSPHERE OF HEAVEN ON EARTH

The supply of the Spirit provides an atmosphere of heaven where the will of God is expressly fulfilled on the earth.
In Genesis 1:1-3 we read again, ‘In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.’

The Holy Spirit hovered on the face of the earth and then whatever God said had an effect. The Spirit of God creates an atmosphere of heaven on earth! This atmosphere becomes the platform on which the Holy Spirit does God’s will on the earth. This atmosphere provides a spiritual ambiance for the word of God to have an effect. In Acts 2 we were told when he came that tongues like cloven fire appeared and sat on each one. Before then the word says the Spirit came like a rushing mighty wind! The supply of the Spirit creates an undeniable physical presence, ambiance, and manifestation!

Luke 5:17 the bible says, ‘And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them’

As Jesus was teaching the word, the Spirit of the Lord was present to confirm whatever the content of the word proclaimed. The word of healing was proclaimed and the Spirit of the Lord was present to heal: the Spirit and the word combining to bring heaven’s will on the earth.

In Acts 4:31 when the Apostles prayed we were told what happened: ‘And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness’. Their house was shaken; now that was physical! Today our homes, churches, workplace needs to be shaken by this heavenly presence of God.

The manifestation of the Spirit always comes with a certain degree of physical demonstration. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 2:4, ‘And my speech and my preaching were not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power’. The word demonstration translated from the root word means to ‘manifest, to show forth’. The manifestation of the Spirit always brings a physical demonstration of His glory and power showing forth for all to see and experience. In 2 Chronicles 5:13-14 we read, ‘It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; 14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God’

How much of this physical glory and power we need in our lives, homes, and churches today; an overwhelming ambiance of his power and presence that no disease, sickness, ailments, problems, failure, poverty will be able to withstand.

As you pray today heavens atmosphere becomes permanent for you, in your home, family, and your workplace. Heaven's atmosphere becomes your natural habitat of operation! And the effect of having such presence in your life and in your home is that every word of God in your mouth finds fulfillment as they are spoken in an environment filled with the supply of the Spirit. God’s word will never fail in your life again!

TODAY’S PRAYER: Lord fills my life with a greater presence of your Spirit.

TODAY’S THOUGHT TO REMEMBER: The Spirit of God creates an atmosphere of heaven on earth! This atmosphere becomes the platform on which the Holy Spirit does God will on the earth. This atmosphere provides a spiritual ambiance for the word of God to have an effect.

TODAY’S TEXT: “And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.

TODAY’S WORD: THE SUPPLY OF THE SPIRIT BROUGHT ENDLESS SUPPLY OF MIRACLES

Today there is a release of special miracles and unusual miracles in every area of your life!

Acts 5:14-16 tells us what happened after there was an eruption of Gods power in the early church! The supply of the Spirit was in abundance and there was an eruption of signs wonders and miracles.

‘And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one’

An overflow of the anointing led to unusual miracles! The supply of the Spirit brought endless supplies of miracles!

It was the same experience when Phillip went down to Samaria, God’s power was at work and the devil was disgraced as there was an endless manifestation of God’s power resulting in miracles.

‘5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ unto them. 6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. 8 And there was great joy in that city.(Acts 8:5-cool

The overflow of the anointing brought an overflow of miracles; for when we daily walk in the power of God we daily experience the flow of the miraculous! And really anyone who enjoys a supply of the Spirit can walk in the miraculous. Stephen was an ordinary deacon, but the Bible records that he was ‘full of faith and power’ and thereby did great signs and wonders among the people.

‘8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.’(Acts 6:cool

Miracles, signs, and wonders are spiritual by-products of the anointing. This is why when the Apostles prayed for signs and wonders to be done by the Holy name of His son Jesus, God responded by pouring out more of the anointing. Now look at it very well, they prayed for miracles:

‘29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, 30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus’(Acts 4:29-30)

This was their prayer contents: boldness to preach the word and signs and wonders by the name of Jesus. But how did God answer these prayer requests?

‘31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.’(Acts 4:31)

God answers to his people’s request for signs and wonders and miracles were to release a supply of the Spirit in a greater dimension. It was this supply of the Spirit in Acts 4 that gave birth to the exploits that we will later read of in Acts 5, 6, 7, 8 and beyond! The supply of miracles is dependent on the supply of the Spirit.

Until the Spirit is supplied there are no miracles. It was said of John the Baptist in John 10:41 that he ‘did no miracle’. Now I won’t take this as a compliment. However, the difference between the ministry of John and that of Jesus was the supply of the Spirit; Jesus had the Spirit without measure. When the Spirit is supplied miracles cannot be quantified!

As you pray in the Spirit today a flow of special miracles and unusual miracles is activated in your life! In your home miracles will overflow, it will become a daily experience, for you everywhere you find yourself. You speak one minute and you experience results the next minute. Your words are backed by power and authority and manifested in miracles, and so shall it be in Jesus name. Amen

TODAY’S PRAYER: Lord Release over my life a greater supply of your Spirit for signs, wonders and miracles.

TODAY’S THOUGHT TO REMEMBER: Miracles, signs, and wonders are spiritual by-products of the anointing. This is why when the Apostles prayed for signs and wonders to be done by the Holy name of His son Jesus, God responded by pouring out more of the anointing.

DAY 7

TODAY’S TEXT: " If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified’ (1 Peter 4:14)

TODAY’S WORD: THE SUPPLY OF THE SPIRIT IS THE KEY TO THE EMERGENCE OF OUR GLORY

Today as we pray the Spirit of Glory will rest upon you. The Supply of the Spirit leads to the emergence of our glory! After Moses spent 40 days in his presence we were told after He came back that the glory of God rests upon Him insomuch that the children of Israel couldn't look into his face!

‘And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments. 29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. 30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come nigh him.

The Supply of the Spirit brings the glory of God which leads to the emergence of our glory. Glory means the manifestation of the full essence of a thing. When the Spirit is supplied the full essence and true essence of who we are begin to emerge.

‘But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord’(2 Corinthians 3:18)

Our change from glory to glory is affected by the supply of the Spirit. First God’s power is manifested and then His glory is revealed. When Jesus was teaching on the Lord’s Prayer he gave a sequence of prayer to follow:

‘9 after this manner, therefore, pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

His power comes before His glory.

Even when the master was talking about His second coming, He maintained the same spiritual sequence: ‘And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory’. It His power before His glory; you first catch His power and you will experience His glory. That was what David cried out for in Psalm 63:1-2, ‘to see thy power and thy glory’

Today the Spirit of God is filling your life with His power and then His glory!

TODAY’S PRAYER: Lord let my status changed by the working of your Spirit. Let me experience thy power and thy glory.

TODAY’S THOUGHT TO REMEMBER: Glory means the manifestation of the full essence of a thing. When the Spirit is supply the full essence and true essence of who you are begins to emerge.

DAY 6

TODAY’S TEXT: " "For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day"(2 Corinthians 4:16)

TODAY’S WORD: THE SUPPLY OF THE SPIRIT STRENGHTENS OUR NATURAL BODY

The Spirit of God is the supernatural strength to birth new things. From here onward new things will be birthed in our lives. This we learned yesterday. But much more this strength affects our body as well.

Now the strength of the Spirit is not just limited to conception and delivery, that strength also imparts on our physical bodies.

Romans 8:11 said, "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you"

The word quicken from the original translation mean to - give life by spiritual power, to arouse and to invigorate, to give strength to. And this is in relation to our mortal bodies.

Therefore by the supply of the Spirit, we are invigorated by the power of God to live healthy and strong life. One man that enjoyed the supply of the Spirit was Paul the Apostle. He had this testimony in 2 Corinthians 11:23-25. He wrote: 'Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;' If you read further down to verse 26 and beyond you will see the many physical perils that he had to endure and yet Paul asked in verse 29, 'Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?'

Was Paul weak? Certainly no! Here was a man who preached the gospel from nations to nations and continents to continents, a weakling cannot do that. The supply of the Spirit made his body immune to physical torture and death. In Acts 14:19-20 it was recorded of Paul, "And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe"

Here was a man stoned to the point of death but yet as soon as his assailants left he got up and travelled the next day. A man left for the dead should be in a sick bed and not traveling the next day! But hallelujah the supply of the Spirit was at work and so what crushes and kill natural men could not put down Paul! What defiles the body of natural men will not defile your body again! Amen.

What was the secret to Paul strength? The supply of the Spirit is the answer. He said in 2 Corinthians 4:7-12, "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. So then death worketh in us, but life in you."

Because of the ‘excellency of Gods power’ that is at work in us though we are troubled on every side, yet we are not shaken. Because of His power and the supply of the Spirit what suppresses natural men have no power over us! Praise God! For the life of God, the life of Jesus and the Spirit of Christ is made manifest in our body so much that our outer man may look like perishing but somehow we are renewed by the supply of the Spirit in the inward man, in this is our strength.

Look at the last few words in this verse, 'that the life of Jesus may be made manifest in our mortal flesh'. The life of Jesus is what we read about in Romans 8:11 that life was given by the supply of the Spirit of God. That same life will begin to manifest in your body from here onward.

Today as you pray in the Spirit whatever weakens your mortal bodies will be quicken by the Spirit of God now. Whatever is consuming your body will be made alive by the Spirit of God. By the supply of the Spirit, the strength of heaven takes over your weakness in the name of Jesus!

TODAY’S PRAYER: Lord quicken my mortal body by the supply of your Spirit.

TODAY’S THOUGHT TO REMEMBER: By the supply of the Spirit, we are invigorated by the power of God to live healthy and strong life!

DAY 5

DAY 5

TODAY’S TEXT: " And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee:  therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God”(Luke 1:35)

TODAY’S WORD: THE SUPPLY OF THE SPIRIT IS THE SUPERNATURAL STRENGTH TO BIRTH NEW THINGS

New things are birth through the empowerment of the Spirit! When Mary was to conceive the Angel told her, this new thing to be birth by you will be accomplished through the power of the Spirit! In other words, the Supply of the Spirit will provoke conception and delivery (Luke 1:35)

‘35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee:  therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God’

When Gods power overshadows you the ability to birth new things is imparted into you! There are things on your inside yet to come forth. But this season, it shall be birthed! Maybe your story is similar to what we have in Isaiah 37:3.

'And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.'

Nothing is more troublesome or burdensome than to have potential but no result! Many have come to the birth but there is no strength to give birth, so what is conceived is trapped inside. But by the supply of the Spirit, strength is released for exploits! Strength is released to birth new things! Strength is released to destroy the opposition and step into your God-ordained position. When the Spirit is supplied supernatural strength is released.

‘Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath:  and, behold, a young lion roared against him.   6 And the spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand:  but he told not his father or his mother what he had done(Judges 14:5-6).

A greater order of strength is coming upon you by the supply of the Spirit. Just like the Spirit of the Lord came ‘mightily’ upon Samson that same Spirit is coming upon you today.

TODAY’S PRAYER: Lord strengthen me with might by your Spirit in the inner man. Let this be the focus of your heart as you pray in the Spirit now.

TODAY’S THOUGHT TO REMEMBER: When Gods power overshadows you the ability to birth new things is imparted unto you!

TODAY’S TEXT: ‘Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created:  and thou renewest the face of the earth’(PSALM 104:30 KJV)

TODAY’S WORD: THE SUPPLY OF THE SPIRIT IS THE POWER BEHIND CREATION

The supply of the Spirit is the force behind creation. From day two we saw that until the Spirit was supplied even God struggled with the work of creation. That might have given the impression that the Spirit only aids creation. And yesterday again we also saw that which is dead can be recreated and brought back to life by the Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit is much more than all the aforementioned; He is the very person behind creation. He is the Spirit of creativity. Psalm 104:30, that same scripture in KJV says you ‘sent forth your Spirit and they are created!’

To create means to, bring into existence that which was not there before. It means to create something out of nothing. Out of nothingness, the Holy Spirit can work wonders. Mary had nothing in her womb but the power of the highest worked wonders (Luke 1:35) and produce one of the greatest miracles in the history of humanity.

The Holy Spirit did something similar in 2 Kings 4. The wife of the Prophet has been left with debt by her anointed but yet indebted prophet-husband. The prophet had a supernatural solution as he has asked the woman, ‘what do you have left in the house?’ The woman had some oil. How prophetic it was that what she had left was symbolic of the person of the Holy Spirit. The solution was simple but supernatural, the prophet told her:

‘And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.’  And as the woman obeyed the little oil began to fill empty vessels. The oil stayed only when there were no more empty vessels to fill. Are you empty? Are you without anything? Bring your empty heart and life and the Holy Spirit shall fill you up! For when the Spirit is supplied, the emptiness in our lives is filled!

The supply of the Spirit turned nothing into something. That which is nothing in your life, body, business, career, family, ministry, but which is needed, shall be supplied today by the Spirit. Out of your 'nothingness' shall emerge greatness! Amen

TODAY’S PRAYER: Lord fill me afresh with your Spirit, I empty myself of every form of pride and self-dependence, fill my life afresh

TODAY’S THOUGHT TO REMEMBER: To create means to bring into existence that which was not there before. It means to create something out of nothing. Out of nothingness the Holy Spirit can work wonders. Mary had nothing in her womb but the power of the highest worked wonders (Luke 1:35) and produce one of the greatest miracles in history of humanity. Out of your 'nothingness' shall emerge greatness!

Christianity EtcA Love That Is Greater Than That Of VALENTINE! Find Out Here! by powertalk(op): 9:53am On Feb 14, 2018
POWERTALK
RANDOM THOUGHTS
DEVELOPING THE CAPACITY TO LOVE!

The greatest gift of love is that which transforms the lives of men. *For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life*(John 3:16). That singular gift from God has redefined the destinies of men. Now that's a stark contrast to the standard that obtains in the world today! Our love tends to get rather than to give! And even when it gives it is still expecting something in return! Now that is not the agape love, that is not the full manifestation of the love of God! The true love of God delights in the joy of giving!

Solomon loved the lord and as a result, the king went to Gibeah and expressed that unalloyed affection by giving all that he had - a 1000 burnt offerings(1 King 3:1-3) to the Lord!

He must have gleaned this unconditional love from his father who according to scriptures, gave 'over and above' all that he has because of his AFFECTION for the 'house of God', no wonder God called him a man after his heart. When our heart captures the love of God our place is secured on the earth(Isaiah 58:14). When his love takes root in our heart we will bear fruit on the earth!

Now we're talking about the love of God that makes you forgive your enemies even while they are crucifying you right before your own eyes! Isn't that what the master did on the cross when he said: " Father forgive them for they do not know what they do". Now when you operate at this level of love, every day becomes valentine to you!

There is no special day to celebrate love for when the love of God overflows in your heart, every day becomes a celebration of love!

When you truly love God and have this love of God, loving your spouse, children, family despite their imperfections and shortcomings becomes easy. However, operating at this level of love requires that first, you receive Jesus into your heart and secondly to receive the supply of the Spirit.

Romans 5:5 tells us that we receive the capacity to love at this insane unusual level when there is a supply of the Spirit in our heart! In other words, the supply of the Spirit is what enlarges our capacity to love! No one makes it by faking it: only the workings of the Spirit in our hearts mortifies self and glorifies God! It is this death of self that elevates the love of God in our heart. And the abundance of this love in our heart is what overflows to impact the earth!

When you are truly growing in the anointing it will be evidence in the largeness of your heart both towards God and men! I pray this day that the supply of the Spirit be increase unto you

My greatest gift to you this day is to urge you to grow in the Spirit and you will have no occasion for the flesh and self. DAY 3

TODAY’S TEXT: "But when you send out your life-giving breath, things come alive, and the world is new again'(Psalm 104:30)

TODAY’S WORD: THE SUPPLY OF THE SPIRIT BRINGS RENEWAL AND RESTORATION

The word but changes the direction of every statement. There was some line of thought before verse 30, and that we found in verse 29, it says, “when you turn away from them they become frightened. When you take away your breath they die, and their bodies return to the dust'. And then we now have verse 30, "but with the supply of your spirit, life is restored, creation is renewed'(paraphrase mine)

Whatever seems dead in your life today is experiencing the restoration of heaven now!

The supply of the spirit brings renewal and restoration.

In Ezekiel 37, the prophet found himself in the valley of dry bones, and their situation was so dire the bible described the bones as ‘very dry’, now only the prophet can really tell us how dry these bones were but for lack of proper adjectives he said they were ‘very dry’. But it seems to me the prophet has concluded in his mind, ‘this is all hopeless, there can be no life here again’. But God knows better and asked the prophet, ‘can these bones live?’  The prophet not wanting to sound negative told God, only you can answer that. And here was God’s response, and it’s the same response to you today:

‘4 again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.   5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live’

At the instance of God’s breath, the life of God was restored. At the instance of His Spirit, there was renewal and recreation! Remember in the verse we read earlier in Psalm 104:29 we were told the reason for their death was because the breath of God had been withdrawn. Didn’t David pray that prayer, ‘take not thy Holy Spirit from me’? Without the Spirit of Christ we are nothing in life! We are dead, hopeless, lifeless, powerless and without a future. But if the Spirit of Christ is in us, daily supplied to us, then that same Spirit ‘will quicken our mortal bodies’ to serve the living God!(Romans 8:11).

The supply of the Spirit will bring renewal into your life in the next few days of this study and prayer program.

TODAY’S PRAYER: Lord quicken and renew my life by the breath of your Spirit

TODAY’S THOUGHT TO REMEMBER: Without the Spirit of Christ we are nothing in life! We are dead, hopeless, lifeless, powerless and without a future. But, if the Spirit of Christ be in us, daily supplied to us, then that same Spirit ‘will quicken our mortal bodies’ to serve the living God!

KEYS TO POWER DEVOTIONAL - DAY 2

TODAY’S TEXT: "And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters"(Genesis 1:2)

TODAY’S WORD: UNTIL THE SPIRIT WAS SUPPLIED THE WORK OF CREATION DID NOT BEGIN

In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth that we saw recorded in Genesis 1:1. However what followed in verse 2 shows the work of creation was not as smooth as intended: the earth was without form and void. Without form and void meant the earth was shapeless and without nothing. This was not what God intended to see. And there and then the Spirit of God went into operation and the work of creation was renewed. Whatever God said at this point began to work.

This passage of scripture must have inspired what David wrote in Psalm 104:30 where he said God sends forth his Spirit and creation was renewed and recreated!

Until there was a supply of the Spirit even God struggle with the work of creation, but as soon as the Spirit hovered over the earth, the work of creation was over in no time!

The Spirit first need to move for the word of God to have an effect! Unction was the force behind creation! When the Spirit of God is supplied the word of God begins to have effects! From here on the word will begin to have effect in your life!

Even Jesus had no ministry for 30 years until the Spirit was supplied. His initial inertia was due to lack of the Spirit. But once the Spirit was supplied the bible said "he began to be" in other words, things begin to happen! Onward from Luke 3:21-23, things were never the same in the ministry of Jesus, the supply of the Spirit activated new levels of results. From Luke 3 he got filled, in Luke 4 he moved into a higher level of anointing, was tempted by the devil, gave his historic message that got the Sadducees infuriated and they wanted to kill him. But 'he walking through their midst went his way'. In Luke 5 he preached and the 'power of the lord was present to heal them'(Luke 5:17). In Luke 6 the whole multitude "sought to touch him for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all"(Luke 6:19).

Once the Spirit was supplied the spiritual progression and impact in the ministry of the master multiplied.

What have you struggled with? Battled with? Stayed on the same spot with? The supply of the Spirit will change your spiritual inertia, momentum and push you into your destiny. All you need is the supply of the Spirit for a supernatural turn around.

TODAY’S PRAYER: Lord I receive a fresh supply of your Spirit to break every spiritual limitation in my life.

KEYS TO POWER DEVOTIONAL

DAY 1
TODAY’S TEXT: For I know that this shall turn to my salvation  through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ
(Philippians 1:19)

Today's scripture is the central focus of this study and prayer devotional. As  inspired by the Spirit of God from Philippians 1:19, there is no desired turn  around we want in life that cannot be affected by the Spirit of God. Things turn  around in the physical because they have first been turned around in the  spiritual.  Ephesians 1:3 tells us that all blessings are first affected in spiritual places!
What the Spirit has done in the spiritual is what we see manifest in the  physical.

This is why for every turn around we desire it is essentially the supply  of the Spirit of Christ that we need. And the supply of the Spirit of Christ responds to genuine supplication from the heart of the saints!

Paul wrote this letter from the dark corner of a prison. He was faced with  death from the ones who have imprisoned him and rejection from even among  the saints! It was here and then he longed for the prayer of the saints which he  believed will supply the Spirit of Christ and we know wherever the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty!
At the instance of that supply of the Spirit, Paul was set free. He went on to  write other Epistles after he was set free from here.

Spiritual focus will always bring total turn around for when we set our heart on God, the earth will respond to us!(Isaiah 58:14). In the next thirty days the earth will respond to you!

This is why this devotional goes with a 30day spiritual focus of praying1hour in tongues challenge as we  pray in the Spirit to provoke the supply of the anointing. As you follow this spiritual course of action there will be an open heaven experience for you.

Everyone can enjoy the supply of the Spirit; everyone can experience a supernatural turn around! Zechariah 10:1 says, 'Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of later rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to everyone grass in the field'. To everyone that is positioned like a grass in the field, there are showers of rain. There is an abundant supply of the Spirit of Christ that will bring about refreshing from heaven! There shall be rain of the Spirit in the next thirty days over your life! Amen!

TODAY’S PRAYER: Lord these 30 days I crave for a daily supply of your Spirit and for the grace to undertake this spiritual journey with  faithfulness. Pray that in the Spirit now.

WALKING IN DIVINE PROTECTION FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR AND BEYOND

The Holy Spirit has an all-encompassing ministry to the saints and one of them is protecting the saints. The bible says of the Spirit of God in Ephesians 4:30 that by his power we have been‘sealed unto the day of redemption’. The word seal from the original Greek translation meant a mark of SECURITY, PRESERVATION OR AUTHENTICATION. Primarily we see what the Holy Spirit is meant to do in our lives, first as a mark of authentication, to show that we belong to God and then as a mark of preservation and security that for the fact that we belong to God also mean that we are preserved and protected from all harm! So even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we fear no evil, for He is always with us!

Essentially we are God’s property and God’s has proprietary and protective duties over his property! So now no evil can befall you. You have the seal of the Holy Spirit.

Enjoy divine protection through the rest of the year.

LEADERSHIP LESSONS FROM 1 SAMUEL 17(3)
CHANGE THE LEADER AND YOU CHANGE THE PEOPLE

Under Saul, the Israeli army was timid coward, rudderless without energy or direction. Goliath stood there and called out to the Israelite troops, _"Why bother using your whole army? Am I not Philistine enough for you? And you're all committed to Saul, aren't you? So pick your best fighter and pit him against me. If he gets the upper hand and kills me, the Philistines will all become your slaves. But if I get the upper hand and kill him, you'll all become our slaves and serve us. I challenge the troops of Israel this day. Give me a man. Let us fight it out together! When Saul and his troops heard the Philistine's challenge, they were TERRIFIED and LOST ALL HOPE’_(1 Samuel 17:8-11MSG).

Notice the order in which the Holy Spirit wrote this passage, first, it was Saul and then the troops. If Saul was terrified his troops were petrified! And for days Goliath kept ranting over the armies of God. Now, this went on for forty days. Now, this must be the worst face off in the history of military warfare. I have read about so many war accounts and military campaign nowhere have I seen an army made immobile by the threatenings of just one man!

David stepped into the scene, and a fearful army became a dreadful army! With new leadership, the Israeli swept on the Philistines and routed them. (1 Samuel 17:51-53)
_‘Then David ran up to the philistine and stood over him, pulled the giant's sword from its sheath, and finished the job by cutting off his head. When the Philistines saw that their great champion was dead, they scattered, running for their lives. The men of Israel and Judah were up on their feet, shouting! They chased the Philistines all the way to the outskirts of Gath and Ekron. Wounded philistines were strewn along the Shaaraim road all the way to Gath and Ekron. After chasing the Philistines, the Israelites came back and looted their camp. David took the Philistine's head and brought it to Jerusalem. But the giant's weapons he placed in his own tent'_

The difference is clear: under Saul God's army were terrified and petrified while under David they were energized and glorified! No wonder the women in Israel had a song to describe this difference in result: ‘Saul hath slain his thousands and David his ten thousand' (1 Samuel 18:7-cool

Christianity EtcRe: UNDERSTANDING TITHING By Leke Alder by powertalk(op): 4:58pm On Dec 06, 2017
Understanding Tithing 3

In part 1 we discovered why Christians can’t tithe according to the book of Deuteronomy or Malachi – we’re not under the Law. In Part 2, we examined the rationale behind tithing. We concluded tithing is elective in the New Testament. It is not compulsory. If you’ve not been following or need to refresh your memory, please go to www.myilluminare.com/understanding-tithing-part-1/www.myilluminare.com/understanding-tithing-part-2/ to read or download for FREE. In this third part of Understanding Tithing, we shall be digging deep.

The greatest casualty of the debate over tithe is the very reason the narratives were included in the Bible in the first place. The essence of the narratives is the priesthood of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 7 & cool. Those narratives on tithing point to him. Tithing has implications that go to the very root of Christianity. Those who focus on only the economics miss out on the purport.

Tithing began with Abraham. He tithed the spoils of war from the defeat of the Gang of Four – Amraphel, Arioch, Kedorlaomer, and Tidal. These kings raided Sodom and carted off Abraham’s nephew, Lot as a prisoner of war. Abraham went after them, defeated them and rescued Lot. He recovered significant loot from the military expedition. Abraham then gave a tenth of that loot to a priest named Melchizedek. That was the first tithe in the Bible.

Tithe antagonists insist on four issues from this story:

They insist Abraham tithed only once and therefore there is nothing like continuous tithing.

They insist Abraham tithed from war and so we should only tithe our “conquests.”

They insist Abraham did not tithe from personal assets but from the assets of the king of Sodom.

They insist it wasn’t Abraham who tithed but Abram. This presumably means it wasn’t the covenanted entity that tithes.

There are also technical arguments over whether you pay tithe or give a tithe. But all these nit-pickings miss the point. These arguments are of no theological or redemptive value. They’re easily dealt with from a cursory reading of Hebrews 7. For example, Hebrews 7 does not recognize dichotomy of Abraham/Abram in its analysis. See Hebrews 7:1-2. All God wanted to establish in Genesis 14 was the fact Abraham paid tithe to Melchizedek, period! That factuality of that tithe is the pointer to the priesthood of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 7)

As enumerated in Part 1 of this series, there are two regimes of tithe in the Bible. The first regime is Abrahamic tithing. It is elective. Abraham paid tithe electively. No one compelled him to. The second regime of tithe is the regime of the Law (Ten Commandments). It’s a regime of mandated giving. God mandated the Israelites to tithe. Because this tithing was a law, we shall call this regime legislative tithing.

Now, ordinarily, these two regimes of tithe have nothing in common. They have different hues and provenance. But the two regimes are linked in the New Testament. The New Testament teaches about tithe.

Abraham, as we noted, gave tithe to Melchizedek. Melchizedek the Bible says wore a double cap. He was a priest-king, a hyphenated entity. We’re told he is a type of our Lord Jesus Christ – Hebrews 5:6. Melchizedek told Abraham that his military conquest and the loot recovered were facilitated by God. (Genesis 14:19-20) Which means Abraham tithed in acknowledgment of grace and in worship. He gave a tenth of spoils of war to Melchizedek.

Interestingly Melchizedek brought communion when he met Abraham. They broke bread. The breaking of bread (communion) by Melchizedek and Abraham was a pre-enactment of the death and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus is our sacrificial lamb and sin offering. (Hebrews 10, 1 Peter 1:18-19) We access his sacrifice through communion. As it were, Abraham had a foretaste of salvation through the communion with Melchizedek.

The regime of tithing under the Law, however, had a different rationale. Tithing under the law was inaugurated as a political solution to the issue of state creation. Israel had twelve tribes, the tribes were allocated land except for the Levites. God declared he was their inheritance. (Numbers 18:20) In order to compensate the Levites, God legislated that all the tribes must pay tithe to the Levites. (Numbers 18:20-24)

But tithing under the Law of Moses was not just about political resolution. It was welfarist as well. It was a government program for the poor, and it also focused on the state of being, health and happiness of the tithe payer.

As we can see, the two regimes of tithing couldn’t be any more different. Yet the Bible says they’re linked. That link between the two is found in the Book of Hebrews. Hebrews 7 & 8 to be precise. Hebrews 7 gives a recount of the meeting between Abraham and Melchizedek and then proceeds to analyse the genetic implication of the tithe: “A person might even say that Levi (the father of the priestly tribe) himself, who received tithes, paid tithes through Abraham (the father of all Israel and all who believe), for Levi was still in the loins (unborn) of his forefather Abraham when Melchizedek met him.” (Hebrews 7:9-10 AMP) In essence, the priesthood of Melchizedek is superior to the priesthood of Levi since Levi paid tithe to Melchizedek. “The person who has the power to give the blessing is greater than the one who is blessed.” (Hebrews 7:7) The argument, therefore, is that the Law of Moses which Levi represented is subordinate to the grace which Melchizedek represented.

The writer of Hebrews (who many suspects is Paul) says Melchizedek was a perfect typology of our Lord Jesus Christ: “He is, first of all, by the translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then he is also king of Salem, which means king of peace.” (Hebrews 7:2)

Concerning Jesus Prophet Isaiah had written: “He shoulders responsibility and is called Extraordinary Strategist, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6 NET) “He will rule on David’s throne and over David’s kingdom, establishing it and strengthening it by promoting justice and fairness.” (Isaiah 9:7 NET) So Jesus like Melchizedek is the King of Righteousness and King of Peace. Melchizedek, in essence, stood in the place of Jesus when Abraham paid tithe to him.

The significance of the Melchizedek/Abraham encounter is that the priesthood has been changed. The priesthood changed from the Levitical order to the Melchizedek order. (Hebrews 7:11) This is crucial for Christianity. There’ll be no Christianity without the change. Jesus would not be a high priest. He’s from the tribe of Judah, not Levi. For the priesthood to be changed however the law regulating it must necessarily be changed too. (Hebrews 7:12) Jesus did not become a priest based on old laws. He didn’t qualify genetically. Jesus became a priest by the “power of a life that cannot be destroyed.” (Hebrews 7:16) It’s why the Psalmist wrote, “You’re a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.” (Psalm 110:4) Jesus became a priest “by the sheer force of resurrection life.” (Hebrews 7:16 MSG) Hallelujah!

UNDERSTANDING TITHING(2)

“Didn’t Abraham tithe just once?” We can’t know. All we can conclude is that there’s one RECORDED instance of Abraham tithing. God incorporated that instance in the Bible to establish the wider implication enumerated in Hebrews 7 – the superiority of Order of Melchizedek to the Levitical Order, hence superiority of regime of grace to the regime of the Law. The whole essence of Genesis 14 is the pointer to Jesus as our high priest forever after the Order of Melchizedek (Hebrews 8:1). Jacob’s words, on the other hand, suggests continuous tithing: “I will present to God a tenth of EVERYTHING HE GIVES ME,” he said. (Genesis 28:22)

“But Jesus never taught tithing.” He did actually! See Matthew 23:23. The regime of the Law was still in operation when Jesus was on earth. The people were paying tithe. Jesus operated under the Law. It’s why his parents presented him in the temple (Luke 2:22-24); it’s why he ate the Passover. (Matthew 26:17-21) In Matthew 23:23, we find Jesus trying to correct the distortion of the relationship between tithing and critical basics of the Law by the Pharisees. (Cf. Luke 11:42) The regime of tithing under the Law was operational while Jesus was on earth. He himself came to fulfill the Law. (Matthew 5:17)

“But why didn’t the apostles teach about tithing?” The writer of Hebrews (Paul) did. And he went very deep. Cf. Hebrews 7 & 8. Besides, the early church didn’t a have problem with giving. They saw beyond 10%. They gave their all in many instances. (Acts 4:34-37) They even gave their lives. Many were martyred. (Hebrews 11:36-37) These were not the type who quibbled over money. And those who got too smart for God got their comeuppance. Remember Ananias and Sapphira? (Acts 5:1-11)

UNDERSTANDING TITHING
There are two regimes of tithe in the Bible. The first regime is the Abrahamic regime. The second regime is the regime of the Law. That’s shortcode for the Law of Moses. It’s also known as the regime of the Ten Commandments – the body of legislation enacted to regulate the nascent nation of Israel.

It wasn’t Moses who introduced tithe into human history. It was actually Abraham. Before Abraham, there was no mention of tithe in scriptures. (Tithe simply means a tenth). Here’s how we came to tithe in scriptures:

The story goes that Lot, Abraham’s nephew, became collateral damage in the power play between the king of Elam and king of Sodom. Sodom, a vassal of Elam had suddenly declared independence and so Elam went to war against Sodom. Lot was living in Sodom. With his allies, the king of Elam conquered Sodom and took prisoners of war. That was how Lot became a prisoner of war. Well, family is family. Abraham took his private army, along with his allies went after the king of Elam and his three allies, and defeated them. He rescued Lot and his family. We’re told as he returned from the battle; he was met by a king named Melchizedek who also doubled as a priest of the Most High God. He brought communion. It was Melchizedek who gave us insight into how Abraham defeated the Gang of Four: “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator and Possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High who has given your enemies into your hand.” (Genesis 14:19-20) It was a not so subtle reminder God did the conquest for Abraham, not Abraham’s strength or brilliance. The conquest was a work of grace. Whereupon Abraham gave Melchizedek a tenth of all the treasure from that battle and that was the first tithe in the Bible.

Nobody compelled Abraham to tithe. It was voluntary. For this reason, we shall call Abrahamic tithing elective tithing. He made money and elected to give a tenth of it to a priest of God. The subtext from the invocation of Melchizedek is that Abraham tithed in acknowledgment of the fact that all that he had, all that he owned, all that he had ever accomplished came by the hand of the Possessor of the heaven and the earth. To that extent, Abram (as he was then known) tithed as an act of worship.

The second regime of tithe – tithing under the Law had a completely different hue. It was legislated by God as a political solution to the issue of state creation.

But here’s what many don’t realize: there were three types of tithe under the Law of Moses. The first was sacred tithe, the second was vacation tithe and the third was social justice or social security tithe
