Doing it would not have cost Nigeria much.

Nairaland with pointless debates even in 2025. It seems we’ll see a resurgence of topics like manual washing vs washing machine, manual transmission vs automatic and fuel generators vs solar panels. Don’t forget the old faithful; the gourd in the village vs electric fridges.

The average mongrel here is the product of government schooling. It’s easy to know which form of education is superior. Nairaland youths can’t comprehend simple write-ups and are quick to display ignorance in threads.
Wonderful comment from the first word even to the last.
You only failed to mention that these are the types of debates and comments brought about by the " typical poverty mentality".

Kudos.

I like Sim but he started fighting too early. You should have taken time to learn the craft from your Oga before you start doing gra gra.

Wike, when he was LGA chairman, took time(over 6 years) to learn from Odili the then governor. He also took his time to learn from his boss Gove Ameachi for close to 7 years and the he also learnt one or two from President Jonathan when he served under him as minister. He also learnt alot as governor for 8 years.

This is the first time you're holding a political office and you kickstarted your career by fighting your benefactor after only 5 months in office.
Your exact argument is exactly what most outsiders have against the battle he started. Especially considering the fact that he was never a politician in the first instance.
The Fubara- Wike issue will be taught in political science classes for a long time to come.
It is one thing to know your battle. It is another different thing entirely to know WHEN to fight that battle.

Same way I laughed when someone said law is a useless course in Nigeria. My parents thought same too and even fasted to prevent my baby sister from studying it. Now, my parents are so surprised at how the little girl is doing so well for herself.

Wao! That's a scary lot of money.

They used to be the biggest financial institution in the world few years ago. Am not sure if they are still occupying that position.

I went to their branch at Oka Akran some years back to open an account, and they declined my application. I asked one of their employees, and he signaled something like salary range.

If you weren't earning like 800k per month or so, and they'll check your employers' profile too. Becoz I was not owing any bank.

I used to see them at Chevron offices, Exxon and P&G etc. Those guys are not desperate at all. Very selective and they basically deal accounts of multinationals.
You are right.
There was a time people were opening account there just to Buga. Then, having an account there suddenly turned to status symbol.
Before you could say jack Robinson, an instruction came from there HQ that many account should be closed asap. Early 2002, 2003.

Fulanifarmhouse:
kids, Yes, the original concept of the Senate was intended for men only. The earliest known Senate existed in ancient Rome, where it was exclusively composed of male patricians who served as advisors to the king and later to the consuls. Women were not allowed to participate in political affairs, as governance was considered a male responsibility. This trend continued in modern democratic systems, where senates were initially restricted to men. For example, the United States Senate, established in 1789, did not allow women until 1922, when Rebecca Latimer Felton briefly served, the British House of Lords, which functions somewhat like a Senate, remained male-only until 1958, when women were first appointed as life peers.
Thanks for the free history lesson.
Of what benefit or relevance is it to our society now considering the fact that the countries that pioneered the idea have already discarded it?

Perhaps, may be you should give a thought to other areas where women were never allowed initially but now has women dominating.

If this draconian and absurd practise had been in place perhaps, Marie Currie would not have gotten a Nobel prize in Physics.

Is it not even crazy that we are debating this in this modern age?

Very good comment. Most people castigating are even worse in their little corner. Perhaps, because people do not know the broader definition of corruption.

With his status, he should be able to get younger lady as a mistress (not supporting it), why go after married women, if this is true (because sexual harassmentis the easiest weapon ladies can use against men)?
Going after married women is just for " conquest " reason. Nothing more.
Money cannot buy the conquest. If you think I am lying, try and ask professional men involved in the act though I totally agree with the first part of your comment.
