jonnysessy: What do you expect, the President has just coronated his henchman on tax matters as the Minister of Finance and the coordinating Minister for the Economy. I even hear that Lagos state government is introducing tax on solar panel on buildings ( very soon, it will go round all the states). This is a government that have completely failed to provide electricity. I won't be surprised if they create tax for the air we breathe. It is well Someone as enlightened as you are should also have heard that the solar panel tax is to be imposed on residents in Lagos Government owned housing estates and not state wide. It only makes common sense that if one is affected, all you need do is simply pack out. It is always unfortunate when people that are presumed to be knowledgeable join the bandwagon of misinformation. |

GeneralDae: Regional Government underestimates Nigeria’s complexity. Nigeria is not just South West, South East and North West where the tribes are largely homogeneous. Those regions can have regional Governments but it’s more complex in the North Central, North East and South South with hundreds of different tribes. Complexity is a clever excuse of failing to do the needful even when the prevailing circumstances are glaringly available to make something work in Nigeria. No matter how diverse the areas are, the moment every tribe no matter how small feels carried along, appreciated and judicially treated, the system will work. All these divisions we are experiencing now are basically politically engineered to favour the politicians when it matters. Above all, the developmental milestones and growth under that system are still there for all to see. |

presiade: If you don’t understand things, then you learn. Firstly, what you quoted is a full sentence, not a clause or an adjectival clause of assumption for that matter.
Globally, government structure respond to changing population dynamics. Virginia redistricting is a recent one you can learn from. Since it happened in Virginia, it must be replicated the world over. Indeed, I have learnt something. |

Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ppogba: 7:32am On Apr 24 |
presiade: Well, the federating regional government structure was great, but it would’ve had to change at one point or another. The population of the country was about 45M-50M between independence and 1967, and the regional government was still effective to cater to the population. As the population exploded, the regional governments would’ve gotten further away from their peoples. Maybe each regional government would have needed more internal divisions (states or local administrative units). "Population explosion would have made regional government to go further from their people" --------Adjectival clause of Assumption. (WASCE May 2031). |
