Treasure17: The same bank frustrated my life yesterday. Got there 9am and I was told no network to carry out any transactions. My people, I left there 3pm. Avoid going to banks on 1st and 2nd day of the month. End of the month processes always impact their operations and those two days at the end of the quarter should also be a No No. Another factor is, if your branch has accounts with big companies salary account, sorry may be your case. |

chimex38: Most of these banks recently increased their outstanding shares almost DOUBLED or even more DOUBLED in less than A YEAR ago . Yet maintained or even paid slightly more dividend per theis DOUBLED. Consider cutting them some slack. Don't use GTB to rate them all. they are an exception not the standard for stocks that just increased outstanding shares to double or impress with dividend in less than a year.
also, WEMA is just a national bank on PAPER with recent upgraded licence.
Wema is still mostly physically a regional bank, just transiting to National spread. yet I think the dividend increase was by 25% compared to last yr.
Those who bought it around last yr within 15-20 share price are on 6-8% dividend yield. I believe that should be the fairest standard to rate them. Oga Chinedu, good PR job. Just like every citizen that wants the government to bring down heaven to satisfy them, every shareholder who have their mouths wide open for a year wants tangible dividend and less of TURENSHI. My comment did not condemn the bank and even gave a bit of consolation and hope to those with holding. It will not be a bad idea if GT become a good yardstick, parameter and a measuring parameter. The call to all and sundry is, quench the thirst of your shareholders. Happy Easter. |

Slammmmmmmm: This dividend payment is actually below expectations. Frankly poor. Totally agree with you. With this shikini dividend declared now, the only hope for the share price to move is the expected news of their merger with the other crippled bank, Polaris I think. |

jonnysessy: I was thinking that we would have another FUGAZ bank declared dividend today before we enter the holiday. It is cool knowing I have some GTCO dividend in the cooler some where. I can even borrow some money to enjoy my Easter first. And give your creditor 28th April as the settlement date. The day is still young. A FUGAZ may drop today and of it fails, latest next Tuesday because of the holidays. |

PropTrader: If history is to repeat, then Unity Bank shareholders will likey be paid in cash. Shareholders of the savings and loans companies, including Spring Mortgage, that were acquired or merged with United Mortgage before it transmuted to Providus Bank were all paid cash for their shares. If Providus owner does a share exchange then his shareholder base will balloon beyond 50 shareholders and he will be forced to converr to a Plc by law. I doubt he want to run a Plc for now. It will be interesting to see their rights issue circular. It should throw some light but in absence of that I tend to believe he will pay off the shareholders in cash. It's the cheaper option for him in the long run. Adverbial clause of Assumption. |

We moved on with fake certificates forgers We moved on without lights and water We moved on with corrupt people all over the places. We even moved on with the lady that faked sexual assault
Blessing CEO is NOT the only rotten eggs in Nigeria. Why should she be made a scape Goat ❓ I never said she offended me ooo. Who am I? I only tried to point out the end consequence of what Nigerians joke with atimes. She may call it cruise but perhaps, her village people could be putting a stamp of " so shall it be on it". I am not a goat seller and so will not be able to distinguish between a scape goat and a sacred goat. |

ghm: With due respect, the story trended at that time. We remember reading that 5 bank's CEOs petitioned the President about someone becoming the CBN governor to the extent of publishing it in the newspapers and a notable politician took it up with the President and the person became the CBN governor and eventually, bingo the 5 banks were judged to commit the unpardonable sins and were brought down, balkanised and sold-off.
It is difficult to proof that other banks that we know were not doing exactly the same things these 5 banks were purnished for, isn't that how businesses were being done in Nigeria? Thank you for bringing back the memory. How many person wan remember for that saga? |
