seems so, its more like an attemp to mopp up $$ ... For whatever reason they are doing it i know its political

Mopping up dollar is only going to creat artificial scarcity in parallel market which is proportionately detrimental to naira cos $$ rate will rise

So these baxters dont really care about us, how is this suppose to strengthen the naira
One would think you have knowledge of the topic the way you are dropping comments left, right and center.

This are the types of topics that reveal the level of ignorance of Nigerian youths.

It's about Peter Obi and the general election.. Obi's main campaign funds came from remitances from diapora Nigerians
So,did they say foreign remitances should not come into the country again?

I am not surprised. You are just a specimen of a larger group.

How does this policy ease the " Pressure" on local demand of dollar

Remittance is an inflow of foreign currency, the policy is as meaningless as when Emiefele brought up naira design ...we just waste resources painting naira like women's face
Una Sha must talk for talking sake.

Where is the pressure?

Have you had need for forex that has not been met of recent?

Everybody has an idea even when they have no idea. Person wey dey two by two shop go talk about dollar scarcity.

Shior!

Which Akingbola? Is it Erastus Akingbola, the former CEO of Intercontinental Bank who was sacked?
If Yes, then he is just jealous and pained that Access Bank acquired Intercontinental Bank after he was sacked by Sanusi Lamido for running the bank aground..
He is obviously throwing shades as Sanusi who cried at Wigwe's burial.
Sanusi explained his relationship with Wigwe and Access bank during his speech at the burial. I suggest you google the video and play it.
The same Access Bank that was indebted to the same Intercontinental before the acquisition or which one?

7upnigeria:
If they had the power, they would have gotten rid of Wike but you see how the courts are helping Wike to deal with them at PDP.
Oga, stop swallowing whatever you chew on ARISE and from RUFAI hook, line and sinker.
It is always the court to blame first not mindful of the fact that the court will only decide on the facts presented before it.
So, it was the court that said they should go ahead with the AMALA CONVENTION of Seyi Makinde when:

# 14 State Congresses were yet to be made.

#The Convention does allign with the electoral act.

# The Convention contravenes the party' s own constitution.

# Sule Lamido was denied the opportunity to buy and contest as the National Chairman.

# When the Same Saraki adviced that they should go for an Interim EXCO first to put their house in order.

A time is still coming when you and your ilk will blame Nigerian courts for the hot weather we are experiencing now. Or perhaps blame Wike for influencing CAF for awarding AFCON to thiefy thiefy Morocco.

mrvitalis:
The problem with you guys is lack of understanding

1) economic economic situation is far far better than Nigeria.. There revenue ( FAAC +IGR) is far greater than debt servicing +recurrent expenditure

2) I have never been against infrastructure if you can afford it that's the good na why would I be against it... What I am against is a state or country in economic bad state ( revenge less or equal to debt servicing +recurrent expenditure) to be borrowing n be building infrastructure that can not increase revenue.... It's that simple

3) I am against borrowing to build infrastructure unless such infrastructure can not only break even but can repay Itself

This has always been my stand

That again I have always been an advocate for investment in people, soft loans to companies not peanuts over infrastructure for now I believe GDP per capita should get to minimum 5000 dollars minimum before major infrastructure investment

At this point everyone can pay a tax of 500 dollaes minimum ... A state like Enugu with say any 3 million people ... Can raise 1.5 billion in taxes yearly... With that there is no infrastructure they can't build without borrowing
It is good to know you are still on and kicking on this platform.

Why all the shalaye when some of us have your past quotable quotes?

E reach Enugu state matter you con dey talk like Edun and Oyedele rolled into one.

When the time comes,I will also remind you when you said " it is a dumb company or business that makes profit" amongst your other calamitous, Hero beer parlour economic postulations.

Nairaland does not forget ; likewise some members here too.

Have a good and wonderful day ,my friend.

Cmanforall:
You mean Jonathan?

You are right.

He depended so much on the North
Tried pleasing them a lot

Yet, they didn’t vote him for a second term.

He would have the Northerners jealous of the south had he been more concerned developing the South. Even in his appointments.
Now, Buhari did it. Nothing happened
Tinubu is doing, and nothing will happen.

This justifies the saying, opportunity comes, but once.
Unfortunately, It will take a very long time before another Ijaw man will become president of Nigeria
The biggest mistake any president of Nigeria from outside the North can ever make is to try to please, satisfy and pacify them. That was Oga Jonathan's error.

I am no Tinubu fan but I can tell you with hindsight that one of the biggest problems the North is having with him is because he don throway face for them.

Customs Controller General still dey pain them till tomorrow. NPA, NIMASA and others still dey pain them till tomorrow.

The period is almost here again when on Nairaland you will be reading:

1. Benue state is in the bag.
2. North Central will not vote for him.
3. Middle East Christians hate him like mad.
4. America will not allow it.
5. Britain can never allow him.

Bottom line: Until Nigerian youths realize that:

1. The social media is all about noise.
2. The Almajari that will troop out to vote are not on social media.
3. Most noise makers on line will either be playing football or watching Okinbaloye on the election day.

Abeg make I rest small.....
