WEMA Bank experienced financial challenges and was under suspension for a very long time, running into years. They received support from CBN, and has now recovered fully with over 2000% return or gain.
He is saying a Unity Bank would experience a similar thing.

To think that exactly 2 years ago in February of 2024, this same USD was selling for 1900.

Someone with N19m who bought $10k then is now probably going to soon have his money worth just N12m after 2 years, whereas if he had put it any any set of sound stocks on the NGX, it would be worth N60m at least (5x)

If he had diligently picked winners, it would be worth up to N120m(10x)

Even if he had just locked in fixed income at average 26% yield, it would be worth N30m compared to N12m from the preachers of "hold dollars"

Is this an achievement? Is this one of the reasons Tinumbu is president? This is the least of the problems facing Nigerians.......power supply, security, infrastructure, proper funding of key sectors like health and education with clear results, serious fight against corruption, etc those are my expectations. He mustn't perform a magic but there must be clear signs of improvement.
You would have been better off not commenting.

Asking if this is one of the reasons the president was elected? Please, let us know why the president was elected.

That funding university education and allowing students have access is the least of our problems? Kai! To assume that the is presumably coming from an educated person is heart shattering.

The argument some of you bring forward all in a bid to discredit the government is more often stupid than illogical.

It's just unbelievable the mundane things Nigeria's major corporate organisations and political elite focus on. Birthdays, weddings, even family bereavement. All signs of an unserious country of particular concern - majoring in the minor! In the same country where about 200 souls were just slaughtered like sheep days ago o. To hell with silly birthdays.
So, a big corporate appreciating her chief executive on a single day is mundane to you. Perhaps, maybe the people that came up with the idea of having a birthday in the first instance should be the ones to face your wrath.

It is too early ventilating your angst on someone who may never know you exist.

And perhaps, may be you have not eaten since the 200 people were killed. Just leave the ashes on your head for now.

They all want the man to be remorseful and later start sending money for the children 's upkeep and welfare through them. Pounds changed to Naira na big money o.

My advice to the father is to open everything in the past to the world to clear his name and leave room for reconciliation open to the children and move on. If they later come back fine. And if they don't, move on with your life.

With or without you, they will get to wherever they are destined to get to. And with or without them you will also get to wherever you are destined to be.

Politics › Re: Latest View Of The New Sagamu-ljebu Ode Expressway Under Construction By PBAT by ppogba: 7:15pm On Feb 06
casualobserver:
Some people know how roads should be constructed because they were alive when roads were designed properly in this country and they have also travelled and driven on highways and motorways abroad.

You will never find a motorway abroad designed with the kind of hard shoulder that exists on the Lagos-calabar highway. Some people don’t know what a hard shoulder is.

It is a particularly poor design in an environment where drivers undertake. Again look up the meaning of undertake.

It’s a design flaw just as the interchange on the Ijebu-Epe/shagamu Benin in the second picture is also flawed. Let’s see if you can spot the flaw in the second picture.

Finally if you join the ministry because it’s the only job available and the best don’t apply for ministry jobs, eventually you will rise to the position of per second or director. It doesn’t mean you weren’t a dollhard to begin with. It’s not the 1960s-1970 when only the best were recruited to the ministries.

Part of the reason why things don’t work in Nigeria is we copy foreign designs without adjusting them to the realities of our environment. If you cannot enforce traffic laws and lane keeping then adjust your designs for your environment by making sure the hardshoulder is not on the same level as the main carriage way and people don’t mistake the hardshoulder for part of the expressway. Else the typical Nigerian will try to undertake on the right lane (hard shoulder) and run into a stationary broken down vehicle. This is why those with sense who designed Nigerian roads in the past designed hard shoulders that were at a level below the main carriage way. If your car breaks down on the Lagos Ibadan express way for example, you move to the hardshoulder and it is clear to anyone that you are off the expressway. On the new Lagos-calabar road if you break down you are there stuck on the right lane and most Nigerians don’t know what a hard shoulder is talk less not knowing that that lane secluded by the continuous yellow line is not part of the expressway. It is not meant for moving vehicles.

Ask 100 drivers what the yellow line is for and only 10 will know, why won’t you have accidents? Even you I am sure you don’t know! FYI it is for broken down vehicles and emergencies. It is not meant for flowing traffic. A typical poorly trained Nigerian driver will try to overtake on the right but because his steering is on the left, he can’t fully see what is to the right of the car he is trying to overtake and numerous collisions with stationary vehicles on the hardshoulder are inevitable. That’s where the design flaw lies. A poorly educated motoring public are going to undertake and collide with broken down vehicles. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist or Einstein! The practice is to lower the hardshoulder to you know you are no longer on the main carriage way.

Have a good day.
Engineer, I hear you o.

Truth be told, while it is exciting to see the new roads being constructed, I keep scratching my head at the thought process behind the design of the coastal road. Makes no sense to me. I anticipate a lot of accidents on Lagos-Cal due to poor hard shoulder design.
It is good to know we have someone who knows more than all the engineers at the Ministry combined.
